I don't think that's what it means. I read it as that version of the game will only be available to buy until the Friday after launch. That is probably the day the first MP bonus pack will drop, so if they sell the Super Deluxe version of the game after that day, people would literally be paying for stuff they wouldn't get.

I'll probably pre-order the Deluxe version, but I'm waiting for a firmer launch date.

I finally pre-ordered. I pre=ordered the deluxe edition on the PS store. I have no need for a remote control car, so no collector's edition for me, plus hubby wants to play multiplayer with me. So digital for the win.

...and this is why I won't be playing multiplayer I've said it before, deluxe editions should include solely cosmetic digital items that have no impact on game play, or physical goods: soundtracks, posters, figurines, maps, lore books, etc. I hate the current focus. Profitable though.

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to your question. I'm just amazed no one has ranted at chastised you for 1) pre-ordering or 2) buying the Super deluxe edition (which only has extra MP packs) yet. Way to go, nu BSN! Meh, what other people do with their money is entirely up to them. And really we know that people bitching about buying MP virtual stuff is really about abolishing microtransactions...nevermind the fact that the cost of producing these games have increased exponentially, but the price of the base game is only about 25-30% more than it was 10 years ago. Afterall, it's perfectly reasonable for a person to demand a free MP game (with purchase of SP game of course) with no in-game transactions that they can enjoy for months (or years,) right? In actuality those people probably out to be thanking those willing to underwrite the game in such a way. I do want the abolish microtransactions, but it's not because I don't want to pay the money. I'd gladly pay $100 for the base game and a multiplayer so long as players couldn't buy advantages through microtransactions. I always bring up the baseball comparison. I wouldn't want to play baseball if every hit a fellow teammate got was an automatic home run, simply because he paid a small fee for the privilege. Games should reward skills, not pocketbooks. I'm reasonably well off, middle class, but to this day I have never made a single microtransaction that impacts the balance of the game; only cosmetic or DLC. If I recall correctly, I got bonus in-game cash for buying GTA V on PC, and I just threw it away.

I think in terms of paying a heftier price up front me and you are more atypical - hence micro transactions are here to stay. Of course plenty of companies would charge the 100$ and still have micro transactions so the industry and consumers will forever be at odds. Unfortunately.

There's just a wide gap between acceptance and welcome. And I'll never stop pushing for the practice to be abolished.

I don't usually pre-order games, but I have just pre-ordered this from Amazon UK. Only the regular edition though, since there doesn't appear to be anything that I want in the others.

Preordering ASAP. I just like being able to walk straight to GS after work to pick it up without any hassle, get home and download the soundtrack and listen to it while the inevitable D1 patch is downloading and installing...

To me it is because no matter what they do people are going to twist it, so they are removing all the possible ammunition they can from people by not releasing any information at all. Just like Bethesda did with Fallout 4, the only reason why I think they even bothered to officially announce the game when they did was because of a leak and they wanted to try and contain it as much as possible. If the were specifically trying to emulate Bethesda's approach to Fallout 4, they didn't do a very good job. I'd gladly pay $100 for the base game and a multiplayer so long as players couldn't buy advantages through microtransactions. The model used in both ME3 and DA:I does not facilitate pay-to-win behavior. Paying for extra dice rolls is very different from paying for items directly. Both are reprehensible, but for different reasons.

Preordered on Origin when it was first available. Went with the deluxe pack as I always get BioWare game soundtracks and if the option is available to order it with the game, I'll do it that way. Didn't go the super deluxe route though as I don't play MP and don't really care about the booster packs.

I pre-ordered the deluxe edition. Don't care enough about MP to go super deluxe. I rarely get games at release but I'm so heavily involved in this forum that I'd love to have a first playthrough with little prior knowledge of what to expect. I first picked up ME1 about a year ago, maybe a little less. I've used all sorts of guides to find my way through. The opportunity to go in without that prior knowledge out there is something I'd love to experience. Yes, I know I can not look at the guides but I'm weak willed in that respect. I doubt I'll regret my decision, even if it's got bugs.

Now that the game has an Official Release Date, pre-ordering makes sense. I will pre-order the game - and I will do that because I want to start playing Multiplayer from Day One.
That being said, I am not going to pre-order it anytime soon. I will wait until the last day or so, as I normally do when I pre-order games. Lots of things can happen between now and March 21st. I am not going to commit my money to buying it just yet.

I have cancelled the pre order. We have seen some cool graphics and lights and boom effects, but nothing about RPG parts something especially. In particular, the game title is not correct. Not realy. We will only be in the Helius Cluster from the Andromeda galaxy but the title says we will travelling through the whole Andromeda galaxy.

We will only be in the Helius Cluster from the Andromeda galaxy but the title says we will travelling through the whole Andromeda galaxy. The game title is correct. The title does not imply that we will be traveling the whole galaxy. The title implies that the game takes place in the Andromeda galaxy, which it does. Moreover, the Helius Cluster is a fictional location created by Bioware, while the Andromeda galaxy itself is a real place. Titling the game "Mass Effect: Andromeda" ticks two different name recognition boxes. I don't particularly care that you canceled your pre-order, in fact it's probably a good thing. But mis-characterizing the game based on what you inferred from its title is not.

Like I said, it is because I see only trailers it says 'We have super duper cool photo realistic graphic and explosions'. This was said in 2014 in Inquisition, too. I don't want to pick flowers or collect stones.

I prefer that it's a dice roll simply because it decreases the chances of you improving your gear through non-gaming methods. If I felt other than I do about buying an advantage, I'd probably be incredibly frustrated with the dice roll.
