The cross platform no-no is to be expected. And it's sad, like what's the problem? Of course if MS and Sony where to remove the sticks on their asses it could be a possibility, but oh well. One can only dream I guess.

From Amazon Matchwise, it looks like it wont be much different. I like that, hope they focused on something that actually needed some fixing.

The customization portion has me a bit skeptical. "Just like ME3MP." Are we talking powerbuilding or physical appearance? I'm more interested in an expanded version of the latter.

I just want single player romance options tied to performance in multiplayer. The tears would be delicious.

Will there be Multiplayer romances? Nope, there won't. They deny it to us. But they haven't realised that we still can make love to each other by clever use of game mechanics. More on that shortly.

Can I answer? The maps will be randomly generated from zones. Zone transition will require completion of the previous zone. There will be a door/airlock that may open or may not, depending on whether a key will drop. There will be one people specifically designated to tend to MP. Well, maybe two peoples. We call him/them cleaner(s) here at Bioware. Some call them fiddlers. Balance is always important. It will be balanced. We have all social media at our disposal. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+. Patch notes will be posted on Facebook, weekly challenges will be announced on Twitter, and all the rest will be dumped to Google+. We at Bioware are proud of our products and we test them so thoroughly prior to release that patches are usually not required. Some minor issues will be fixed in due process. Don't you feel dirty doing all the corpspeak? Good question! We're going to address that after launch, with our pockets full (we hope) of your money...

Answered questions, at the time of writing Q: How much of the vertical level design that has been mentioned reg. single player is carried over? A: once you go jump jets, you never go back Q: Can I Krogan headbutt people still? A: if there are Krogan in MP (plausible deniability [tm]), chances are good that you could Q: If you’ve never played MP before and want to maybe check it out, is it conducive to that? A: Yes, I think so. Being a co-op experience also helps. If you have it, you can look at ME3 MP to give you an idea. Q: who the characters we can play as are! And can we customize them any? A: you can expect some customization, along lines of what ME3 MP had Q: The characters we can play and if they're customizable! A: similarities to ME3 MP customization Q: the variety of characters we can play as! A: I'm sure we'll cover this at some point Q: Can we have Mass Effect & Milkshakes (or some snack w/ m name)? aka plz can we have weekly MP streams w/ Billy! A: mmmaybe. we'll have to come up with an appropriate name. Q: is there any pvp, or is it more similar to me3mp? A: co-op like me3mp Q: also, can we expect free map packs/mp dlc, & will challenge weekend make a return (& challenge system in general)? A: good Qs. We'll cover those details closer to launch. Q: are there going to be microtransactions? A: I believe some game editions/preorders mention mp packs, similar to ME3. More details closer to launch though. Q: Banter? That was awesome in DAI. I'd love to see if that's a thing in MEA too! A: ooh good Q... for another day Q: destructible cover and environments through frostbite? A: I'm sure we'll cover environments etc at some point Q: how long is the average "match" length? A: will prob leave this for all to exp with MP tech test (go sign up if you haven't yet: beacon.bioware.com ) Q: More on prestige system and if the flaws from DAI have been fixed (characters being nearly invincible after enough promotions) A: great Q. We'll cover this at some point, but we def took notes from what worked/not in DAIMP (and ME3 & others of course) Q: When will beta testers be contacted? A: more info soon Q: PROGRESSION and CUSTOMIZATION A: ..are a beautiful thing in games (we'll cover it soon) Q: will beta testing for Multiplayer be coming on PC? A: Intent isn't a 'demo' & PC is not same lvl of 'moving parts'. So for now no need/plan for it, sorry :/ Q: does it have much impact on the main story? If we don't play MP will we miss out? A: there is zero impact/dependency between SP story and MP Q: Will our N7 rating carry over to Andromeda? A: you are all bright-eyed new recruits with hopes, dreams and aspirations of shooting aliens in the face Q: Will there be leaderboards again? And how long can I stay on top of them if so? A: yes, but there may or may not be an automated script specifically looking for YOU Barrett! O_o Q: Unlock methods. Total randomness of ME3 made it extremely aggravating if you wanted to get a specific class/weapon A: more details to come Q: coop or competitive? wave based horde mode or something else? objectives and maps? A: more details in time, but in general improvements vs radical new directions Q: will the multiplayer run @ 60fps across all formats? Various difficulty tiers? Emotes? Weapon skins? A: good Q's, we'll speak to those closer to launch Q: will we have a wide variety of enemy factions to fight? ME3 had reapers, Cerberus, Collectors, etc A: we'll cover more info on content closer to launch I can't tell you what to do, but please check in here and see if that question you wanted to ask has already been answered. Thanks, Pearl. I think biovar's answers can be summarized as

Here's my question and I hate to be an ass but it comes natural. Why should we buy the game and believe that bioware has done anything but regress to a money hungry company that has lost contact with what it's fans want? Dragon age was a dumpster fire but they seem intent on implementing some of the same broken systems in it. Not to mention you allow your social forum to just die before one of your biggest games comes out. I'm sorry but that just seems like dumbass business practices. Why not use that as a fan sounding off board or marketing tool? The simple fact is likely fans aren't going to have the level of influence on balance or any other factor in game, without that bioware is pretty much fucking clueless. Tell me I'm wrong.

It's the same story with Gears 4 and Microsoft's The Coalition. In fact it seems they are actively attempting to out EA EA.

Game studios cannot and should not make games driven by 'what fans want', as fans want all sorts of different stuff. They should make what they think is wonderful and with a bit of luck, many of the fans will agree. I enjoyed all the Dragon Age games in different ways, but I won't rush to judge what they've done to MEA without reading reviews or playing it myself. I'm not going to tell you you're wrong, you're welcome to your own perspective, but that view is far too cynical for me, and I didn't see many facts in there.

As always, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I'm the first to say that devs should stand by their vision of their own game, they know better than anyone else what it is and should be. Capitulating to some of the hair-brained stupid ideas some people have to "improve" the game has ruined too many to count in my lifetime. On the other hand, devs need to be open to true, well thought out suggestions by people who actually know wtf they are talking about. The trick is to identify who is who. But you need forums and community reps to do that. Take those out of the equation and you eliminate the potential for constructive feedback which could have possibly made things better for everyone.

I'm not going to tell you you're wrong, you're welcome to your own perspective, but that view is far too cynical for me, and I didn't see many facts in there. Game studios should identify what worked and what didn't work though. And fans have had input into balance in the past especially when they had a direct voice that devs could not only hear but interact with. That line of communication is compromised now. Bioware has definitely allowed fans to influence not only balance, gameplay, but also story itself. Arguably fan involvement is what made bioware as successful as what it became. If you don't see many facts in that argument well I'm not sure what to tell you, the damn ending was modified on ME3 because of fan opinion.
