If the new Boba Fett movie guts the Mandalorian culture, then you'd have reason to worry. It was already gutted for the sake of this and the preceding children's show. They rewrote the planet, the history, the culture and more. The planet isn't really important. They are a nomad people that weren't meant to gather in one spot. They breed toughness through other ways, not just a harsh planet. Culture ebbs and flows depending on the times: Nearly eighteen years; I’ve been away from my own people for too long. But we make home wherever we are, because we have no bomeworld now. I hear the Mandalorians have been wanderers, too, and that they were conquerors like us, and their god was war itself. And now-now they are not, and their worship of war itself has vanished because one of their leaders wanted things to be more civilized. They fight other nations’ wars for money, if they fight at all. When I saw the tattoos on that females band, I thought for a moment that there might be a vestige of the true warrior left in the Mandatorians and that they might be like us in valuing their own pain and death. But no-this is vanity, dec-ration, nothing more. They have no castes, no order, no aspiration to improve the universe or save it. They care only about surviving day to day. Their culture’s borrowed, and they no longer impose it on others. They can have no faith in it, then.In the Knights of the Old Republic 2, the current Mandalore was trying to rectify Mandalorian culture, for example. History ... well, I hope they didn't change too much. That's a bit harder to rectify

SNIPNo, I disagree, their culture, ways of methods of doing this made them what they were, their planet, the birth of their way set that standard. Changing these things cheapens it into a factional economy that there is already too much of in any setting, especially Star Wars. That's the point, their entire creed was one that was meant to withstand the ages and remain nearly intact and unchanged from when it was first penned, because though their weapons may change, their ships and armor may differ, they are the same in spirit as all the thousands of generations before them. Its how they have a sense of culture when they are a nomadic band of mercenaries. A band that places no value of species, race, gender or anything of that sort, because its a way of strength, discipline and clan. SighDefending or minimalizing what they did will not change my mind, this is an old opinion.

If they had made her true to the Mando legacy, rather than a parody of it, they could have had her grow old & bump into Boba or get into adventures which could be featured in an anthology movie. Someone like a female version of Canderous. They could have made this character into someone who stood with her culture and elevated Mandalore, despite the predictable "saturday morning cartoon" cliche this show has become. A character which was really only good at being herself, rather than being a half-dozen types of pre-teen fantasies

Pfffft, she's most definitely not. at least more likely she is then Rey is, Really not, because at the very least we can see and assume where her talents and combat prowess come from. Mandolorian training starts at 5, they are taught survival in hostile environs, small unit and combat tactics, how to maintain and repair weaponry and armor, and more. Back in the EU Mando's went out for their 'first war' at the age of 12. For those born into it obviously, those who came to it of their own accord are usually professional soldiers, mercs or whatever anyway. Unlike the dirt farmer Rey who is a master duelist and Force wielder out of literally nowhere.

She was also an Imperial Cadet at Mandalore for a time ... before she ran away (left) after being played by the Empire. So she has good combat experience, a big fat naivete flaw, some other mental flaws, relationship problems (like with her mom). I mean, all she has going for her is her proficiency in combat (Mandalorian) which is semi-expected and even then she's overshadowed by the Force users most of the time so *shrugs*

Thanks to her steadfast resistance to Snoke's torture it forced him to focus all of his attention on her, giving Kylo the opening he needed. Once again he owes her big time. But if Kylo simply stood by and let it happen, she would’ve eventually crumbled. Snoke could simply sit there and brute force his way into her mind at his leisure. If it was anyone else besides Rey they would have folded faster than Kylo could turn the saber, and Kylo would have to endure years of Snoke belittling him, then crying in his pillow at night.
