Ooo... spicy. The Force, as any self-respecting fan of AW should know, is obviously not male or female. As for the shirts, their cringiness aside, it is telling that the woman responsible for the new movies that have shat on SW lore harder if they tried, decided to use that franchise as a virtue-signalling medium. As for me, I don't shove my beliefs in anyone's face, nor do I advocate for them to be inserted into entertainment products, all I ask is to be given the same courtesy, but that's too much for some people obviously. Guess that all went sideways:

I've been rereading Tales of the Jedi.
One thing I've noticed is, starting with the Freedon Nadd Uprising arc, the quality of the art really shot up.

IF NOT -I choose: FYI: Darksaber That color makes no goddamn sense. Way to make me sympathize with Lucas trying to crack down on lightsabers. But yeah, + = Ok I couldn't find an image and don't have the software installed to make it. But you get where I'm going with this. Curved lightsaber, purple blade. Like a boss. Edit: lol ninja'd

I'm not gonna lie, I love all of the sabers in that picture. But if I really had to choose, it'd be Luke's ROTJ saber.

But you get where I'm going with this. Curved lightsaber, purple blade. Like a boss. Edit: lol ninja'd Curved light saber? Like the Dark Jedi Brotherhood Grand Master Jedgar Octavius Paladin lightsaber: Ok here I recolor it purple for you: Yeah, the "darksaber" is a bit too edgy (heh...) for my tastes. I also don't find the shape particularly immersive or consistent with what was established in-universe about Lightsabers. As to the Darksaber... You do know it was George Lucas who came up with the idea of the Dark Saber? www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2017/08/dave-filoni-reveals-the-darksaber-origins-in-new-clip-from-the-star-wars-rebels-blu-ray.htmlDave Filoni carried it as best he could through Rebels conclusion. The way it is portrayed in the animated shows is not the saber I wish it was... Though to be fair they could never display it right anyway in animation... Black saber LACED with white veins -that is what I would have liked to see. This may not be a Lightsaber but it is the closest I can find to what I would have liked to see:

Except what I alluded to happened way earlier, during the prequels, specifically when Samuel L Jackson requested a purple blade. And sadly, Lucas is not known for being 100% consistent. Also, that blade was originally supposed to be a vibroblade. The only reason he made it a lightsaber was because he either never heard of or chose to ignore lightsaber-resistant materials and insisted nothing but another lightsaber could block one. Also he pulled this last minute, therefore leaving no room but to come up with this convoluted crap: www.ign.com/articles/2010/01/28/star-wars-are-you-ready-for-the-mandaloriansSo most likely, George went "it has to be lightsaber vs lightsaber" but they already rendered the damn thing, so they had to improvise. Doesn't change the fact that it makes no sense and looks awful. Now if you were to make some super rare material sword that had a black blade with white Tron lines like you describe, that'd be one thing. But a lightsaber plasma blade like that is hella dumb.

I look at the color and hilt alone -they are reason enough for me to like it. Speaking of tron color for a material sword... intresting idea. Why did you have to make me think of a Tron darksaber?...-ok lets kill that now and call it what it is: the Mandalorian Lightsaber. EDIT: Editation of Original Image by Josaguah117

As to the Darksaber... You do know it was George Lucas who came up with the idea of the Dark Saber? Could be, but I never claimed that he could do no wrong. I mean, I like the prequels more than others (especially ROTS), but they were still full of cringy moments. Granted. Still... The very concept of it to me is just another symbol of the disgrace that became the Mandolorians, rather then having them fight Jedi with the tools of their own trade, they use a lightsaber, that to me is as dumb as Bobba Fett fighting Vader with two lightsabers back in the old EU.

So... basically a Mass Effect Tuchunka or a Star Trek Vulcan huh? Well... The EU was killed for a reason -like everything else K.K. is doing. Still I like the thesis of the Mandalorian saber -a black and white veined saber... Maybe a full bore version -if it is the shape that still offends: Otherwise we will agree to disagree.

EDIT: Editation of Original Image by Josaguah117All of this is wrong, and it's wrong in teh same way- trying to be too edgy and one-up the existing lore elements. Oh, you already have a lightsaber, a colorful blade that can cut through anything? Well, fuck you I have a darksaber that's even more awesome, because it's black! Oh what's this? You have Mandalorians, well fuck you, let's have super Mandalorians! With lightsabers! It's childish playground bullshit and even though we know it wasn't quite conceived as that, that's what it comes across as. And the effect is exacerbated when the thing doesn't freakin make sense. That thing looks like an obsidian blade, and it would've been cool if it was an obsidian blade or rather the space equivalent of one. They could've kept the fluff about it being an ancient Jedi weapon, no one cares about that. Mandalorians aren't mirror images of Jedi, that's Sith (or Dark Jedi). The whole point of Mandalorians (if you get past the fact that their entire existence is fan service born of a glorified extra) is that they can counter Jedi without being or possessing a direct match of their abilities, but rather through sheer will, skill and a fuckton of armament. As a callback to the midichlorians and self-inserts discussion a while back, they're the ones that fill that exacting of a relatability requirement: they're not genetic space wizards, literally anyone can be a Mandalorian if they put in the work for it.
