It's not like he said he was proud of that choice. Yes, trying to butcher your nephew in his sleep is not something to be proud of.
Considerably less so than trying to take on the fallen Jedi who's plagued the galaxy literally your entire life to rescue your friends.
The point I'm trying to make is that visions don't show the whole truth. The whole Chosen One prophecy came true, but not the way the prequel Jedi thought.

You know, like trying to redeem the very man who cut his hand off, even when the last remaining trained Jedi thought that was crazy talk...

There is a difference in the heat öf the möment Luke löses his coöl and attacks his father. And pre meditate murder in cöld bloöd with a sleeping unarmed child. He had a vision and a saw a future of it being repeated again. In that moment of rage or not thinking whatever you want to call it he just acted. But Obi-Wan never thought that the Chosen One prophecy would come from the Dark Side. Its stated in Rebels, he thought Luke was the new Chosen One. While kinda true Luke still didn't techincally destroy the Sith. I dunno, yes what Luke did was wrong. But can you blame him? Who wants to see Vader 2.0 anyway?

More like Lenier when he tried to kill Sheridan. Lennier carried a torch for Delenn the entire series. Are you trying to tell me Luke had the hots for Ben's girlfriend?
I should also point out:
Lennier did not try to kill Sheridan, but failed to act when he saw him in danger. Sheridan did not turn evil as a result, did not join the Shadows, or slaughter the Rangers as a result Neither Sheridan nor Delenn seemed interested in retaliation or holding a grudge
This line is a little thin. It wasn't so much that he failed to act, but rather deliberately did not act for several moments. But in addition to your other points: -It was also foreshadowed in Day of the Dead when Lennier is visited by Morden. If Luke had been visited by Palpatine randomly in Hope Harder and told he'd betray those he loved, maybe it would've been more narratively interesting. However, -Luke is not Lennier and the characters are designed from two very different perspectives. Both Luke and the Jedi come from a sense of idealism. Jedi are supposed to be the best, most moral people in a galaxy of stark black and white (according to the original vision by Lucas), and Luke is supposed to be the best of those best. Lennier on the other hand exists in a much murkier galaxy where the supposed good guys are asshole authoritarian manipulators, most victories are won by nukes or nuke-like circumstances, and the character is even further shown as imperfect via a nearly five-year arc of refusing to accept that his love will never be requited. Here's a better comparison- via time-wimey ball, Sheridan knows Londo will seemingly become a despotic Emperor that will hold him and Delenn responsible for the state of Centauri Prime, will capture them both and seem intent on executing them and will also threaten their child. So when he returns to his own time, he of course has Londo brought before him in chains and spaces him summarily- oh wait, no he doesn't. Even though, unlike Force visions, where "always in motion, the future is", B5 time travel has proven fairly stable. Or, if you take the Lost Tales as canon, where Sheridan again has seemingly very reliable info that a Centauri prince will become a dickhead Emperor and is nearly being forced by Galen to shoot him down and save millions, and still he refuses. So yeah. B5 > Mickey Wars, and Sheridan > notLuke. Even though, again, Sheridan is not supposed to be anywhere near as morally perfect as Luke is. And now, brb re-watching Babylon 5.

Here are the rest of my Star Destroyer upgrade parts from Shapways. Devastator primary and secondary engine bells Devastator trench quad laser batteries Devastator tractor beam emitters Side trench plates Main hanger which is in two parts and I only got the bottom half. Given the crap week I’ve had that’s not surprising...

Ah, yes. "The audience doesn't understand true Art" argument. How depressingly familiar.

I am afraid that I disagree, somewhat strongly. The Last Jedi is simply depressing. Luke Skywalker is not written in a way that is true to his character. Much of the action is forced, the main character is over-powered to the point of being unbelievable and the bits that are entertaining are more in the way of fan service than necessary. These days movies come in two varieties: Think pieces that are character driven and mindless entertainment with 'splody stuff. Last Jedi tries to span the two but fails with implausible action and characters that are made of whiny cardboard or unobtainium. Avengers has a plot, it has characters that are likeable and things get blown up real good. It's more fun and so is a better movie.

Episode 8 is a piece of shit, while Infinity War felt like my wishes came true!

It also had a villain that wasn't Emo An Ass Clown or Criminally underdeveloped And yes, all the Avengers and Guardians were written true to their characters. With one possible exception.
