Looking at the (lack of) drop off at the box office between Sunday and Monday, it's very possible Rise of Skywalker has much longer "legs" than the Last Jedi. We know the Last Jedi did very well at the beginning but then, maybe because repeat viewing was down, box office revenue sharply fell. With the Rise of Skywalker though that may not be true. Will be interesting to see. Especially once the holidays are over and people have more time to go to the movies rather than last minute preparations or parties.

Just because I like the new trilogy doesn't mean I don't question some things that happen. I just rewatched the first two movies before seeing RoS for a 2nd time today. Rey fights with a lot of aggression, even rage at times, very dark side emotions. That is something her "masters" should have addressed. And its something that should have started to corrupt her since it was left unchecked, especially in RoS, where she is using a lot of rage in her fights with Ben. The "death" of Chewie should have been permanent or the death of some innocents, because of her actions/inaction directly or indirectly would have been a huge guilt on her conscience. I wanted to see her fall more dark side than what they did in RoS. When Ben took the Sith device from her, she wasn't asking for it back, she demanded it back. The rage she felt during this whole exchange leading up to their fight. She wanted that device for the sole purpose of killing Palpatine, nothing else mattered at this point. She was falling to the dark side, quickly. As good, caring, helpful, etc she may be, the dark side is still in her blood thanks to her bloodlines. I think LotJ was ok was that Rian Johnson's first movie? I don't know much about the guy but clearly it could have been so much better with a director who is more experienced or knows the SW lore.

I think LotJ was ok was that Rian Johnson's first movie? I don't know much about the guy but clearly it could have been so much better with a director who is more experienced or knows the SW lore. Well... A. I agree with you on the Chewie thing although this point was kind of raised within the movie, though in a blink and you'll miss it moment. Her Big Lie in this movie was that she feared herself because of what she was doing and who she was becoming AND the visions she saw AND finding out she was a Palpetine. Luke was like in Ach To 'suck it up buttercup' and well...she stopped fearing. It might've been a little rushed, (probably was) but then maybe its because this is a movie and they didn't have enough screen time to flesh out these ideas, maybe they didn't have a cohesive plan with this going into it so they couldn't have set up these ideas properly, maybe that is all you need to do sometimes instead of making all plot revelations and character growth telegraphed in epic scenes with sweeping orchestra...sometimes it could just be simple as *not* fearing, *not* hating, instead feeling love and compassion. B. This is something that has been dealt with over and over again in SWs, just how *wrong* the Jedi dogma is when it comes to dark side corruption. We have seen a lot of characters react with anger and hate and rage throughout the series and be tempted by darker emotions only to *not* fall. Obi-Wan, Luke, Rey...I feel like this list should be a lot more exaustive so I think there is a lot of people i am forgetting, but it is there. As I tried to point out in my thoughts on the movie Rey kind of did end up in the middle anyways.

I'm thinkin', when Mark Hamill considers Luke off...
He knows the character damn well. When he says something, there's something everyone should consider.

I really didn't like where they left off with Rey, either in TLJ or in Rise of Skywalker.
She's being presented as the heir to the Jedi legacy, but there's literally nothing about her that's Jedi.
The whole shtick of the Jedi is to set aside your feelings and exist as a singularly rational and compassionate being to whatever extent you can. Because that's the best anyone can do.
So far as I know Rey never took that idea to heart, or even understood it. Some kind of "Jedi training" is alluded to in the start of the movie, but it's never referenced again and isn't actually reflected in her behavior at any point.
So the only indication we have that she even feels remotely in line with canonical Jedi philosophy is the assumption on our part that another character successfully passed it on to her off-screen and it just never became relevant enough to be brought up.
And that's a really shitty way to present a character as the personified rebirth of an ancient altruistic tradition.
The movie doesn't even spend a second exploring it because it has to fit this overly convoluted breakneck plot into an hour and a half. So we're left to supposedly cheer that Rey can go on to do whatever she wants with that heritage... except we have no idea what that's going to mean or even what it means to her.

Don't know how anyone can say Palperine didn't want Rey dead, or that he knew Klyo couldn't do it. Klyo was about to do it, no ifs ands or buts. He didn't stop on his own. Leia gave all that she had left to keep him from talking the final step of going completely dark once and for all. If this isn't what happened, someone needs to explain exactly what Leia was doing in this scene.

I just like STAR WARS. OT, PT, NST (New Sequel Trilogy) EU/Legends, Games...and everything else. It's STAR WARS. Period. The End. I love it, always have ever since I was four years old.....always will, even when I'm 104. Nuff Said. except the force unleashed. That game can get tossed in a black hole. So glad disney nuked it from the cannon. I actually liked The Force Unleashed. Both 1 and 2; even though the gameplay/combat was improved in 2, the story was quite lacking...The first one had a much better story. The second one was kind of a one beat per bar and missed a lot of what made the first story so good. I mean, his whole schtick was 'I gotta go get my girl....nothing else matters. Damn the Empire, damn the Rebellion....I'm only thinking with my (little) head.' There could have been so much more action, excitement and dramatic *umph* had they played up certain story angles, like helping the rebellion. I enjoyed both games, but the first one is the best. But even those are not as good as the Dark Forces series (Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Mysteries of the Sith, Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy). And right now, Jedi Fallen Order in terms of Story, Gameplay, Graphics, Characters.....It ranks right up there with Dark Forces for me.

Timely parties offer good rewards as far as counters. In Sekiro you get a symbol over your head when an unblock able attack is coming. In Fallen Order the enemy glows red, and you have to react and dodge. But the biggest difference between Fallen Order and Souls or Sekiro is that you can set the difficulty, making it a lot more forgiving. It's a good story with some nice puzzles and other extra things to do. Play it through on one of the lower difficulties.

As much as I think we have seen the farthest movie in the SWs timeline with Skywalker...the idea of Rey fighting the Yuuzhan Vong on the big screen would be hella interesting.

Then Kylo had a similar insight as Vader did in RotJ - after all the power he had aquired, damage he had done, he would lose it all, not ever rule the galaxy for the better, if not for the person he was actually fighting against.
I'm not sure he was fully redeemed, as much as he realised he was being used, and needed to switch sides.

Main difference is build and gear don't matter at all like they do in Souls or Souls: You all wanted a Naruto game right? Edition. Everything to be found is minor and not very good cosmetic items, so I'd argue bad comparison to a series where gear is half the build. There is one play style for Fallen Order.
