It's slipping my mind right now but I just completed my most extensive playthrough of ME1 ever and I saw about 5 new quests or so I didn't even know existed and even so I still missed some missions somehow that I recall from earlier playthroughs on the Uncharted worlds. I swear there was some point maybe on Noveria where I tried to do certain things in a reverse order which gave Shepard the information to say new dialogue that changed things. It was probably the Anoleis part.
Anyway, I got Lorik'Qin to become the new administrator of Port Hanshan. Never knew you could do that either!

Lorik Qui'in will become administrator of Port Hanshan anytime you just give him his evidence to get his pass rather than turning the evidence over to either Parasini or Anoleis. You just have to go back to talk to Qui'in one more time afterward though for him to tell you about it. There is a checklist (warning spoilers) online that lists all the side missions (but not those on Noveria or Feros, which I don't think are really side quests, but just contribute to different variations of advancing the main story line): masseffect.shockfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/mechecklist2-6_Teryx.pdf

Yeah, the port hanshan part doesn't really qualify as side-quest because it's part of the critical path, but it does sort of feel like one. Really, it should be comparable to which mission you tackle first before curing the Genophage on Tuchanka in ME3 since completeing the Turian quests or the Rachni mission unlocks the Shroud mission.
Also reminds me, I feel like in ME3 they were leading it up to a scenario where if you helped the turians you'd get their support for curing the genophage but then not if you didn't but it happens no matter what and in a rather well-realized cutscene sequence. My assumption is that there was a plan for this but because the cutscene was so polished they didn't have the budget to make a variation where there is no turian support. It's a shame though, because I liked the overall system where you select between missions from the planet-scanning interface.

It's a shame though, because I liked the overall system where you select between missions from the planet-scanning interface. I don't equate choosing how to get a garage pass with choosing which mission; Tuchanka or Attican Traverse, to use to unlock Priority: Tuchanka. For one thing, you can just choose to talk with Opald, go back to the ship and pick up his package and then sell him out to Anoleis... Deed done without any "mission" sense and 3 very short conversations. I equate it more on par with deciding which path to take to fight your way past the collosus during Tali's recruitment mission in ME2 (although her recruitment is, in an of itself, completely optional - a sidequest). I also think you have a tremendously ove-active imagination to assume such elaborate scenarios that are just not in the game. Your injection of an entire alternate plot based only on the polish of the cutscene that did make it into the game is purely wild, wild speculation.

I've never before fully explored the Shadow Broker's ship. I had wondered why I was missing the achievement. Turns out I never went into the room with Feron or saw the videos up the steps from there. I'd heard references to those videos but wasn't making the connection. Yeah, the replays are definitely worth it.

When scanning for resources in ME3, the reapers are alerted and will chase the SR2. If the player hasn't scanned everything in that system and wants to get the remaining resources while at the sametime not deal with the reapers, he/she can complete a mission, side or main. Doing that will let the player back to that system without having the reapers chasing the Normandy.

Doing that will let the player back to that system without having the reapers chasing the Normandy. Finding fuel deposits while scanning in ME3 is easily done by just flying around the system listening for a "beep" (when not hovering over a planet or at the mass relay since these will also generate a beep). Also, frequently, moving a little distance away from the fuel beep location towards the nearest planet before firing the probe will sometimes show up another positive scan result for that planet... allowing the player, in some cases, to clear 100% of that system with just one probe. Of course, another way is to just refer to one of the planet scanning guides online.

Of course, another way is to just refer to one of the planet scanning guides online. That's right. I've posted many times a link to what I use when playing ME3. I even posted a link in another thread a few minutes ago. I even have the link in this thread for folks in the war assets thread.

A creepy log entry on Sanctum in ME3:
"Personal Log: C. Talavi
Integration successful. Suicide on capture orders confirmed. Cerberus is my friend. Obey. Protect humanity. At any cost."
Indoctrination, anyone?

This is what makes the replayability so great. There's just so many little things peppered throughout the game that you'll find new things all the time.

I remembered to check out Sovereign's landing site at Eden Prime in my current ME game. The place looked like a volcano had just erupted and created a lava plain. Vanguard of destruction, indeed.

One little thing about ME2 is how the "Afterlife" club's name is a reference to Shepard's death. I noticed this on my own but it had flown over the head of a relative who had played ME2.

I mean, maybe from a meta standpoint, but that club is probably far older than Shepard. Also, we've got Purgatory in ME3. I figure they're just death references. Almost like signs pointing to the inevitability of death by the Reapers.

The codex for thresher maws in ME1 doesn't unlock until you kill the one on Edolus, even if you've killed other ones already (this happened to me today).

I guess the reason it can't be obtained at the other thresher maw planets is that the codex entry on Edolus is attached to the Alliance marines you can examine after the kill; it's not associated with the thresher itself.

The Krogan that taunts you on Tuchanka in ME2 (at least of Wrex got killed in ME1) has Harbinger's voice with the same intonation and flair. Pretty creepy actually. I imagined it was Harbinger assuming direct control and psychologically tormenting Shepard for Wrex's death Let's reboot IT

Well, I definetely missed this thread, with themikefest posting EMS results that I would never get, hahaha. So, I'll post something of my own as well, for the old times Zaeed is pretty offended with the Asari that trash talks Shep. This only happens if you killed the Council in ME1 and was an ass with the Asari lady(IIRC, picking the Renegade option) after she told that it was humanity fault Citadel is as it is. (Conversation is like " if you need a problem talked, call the Salarians, if you need a problem solved, call a human")
