Woah, woah, woah- I had this idea over my dinner. What if a future Andromeda novel is about Reyes- like his backstory and his perspective of the Andromeda initiative and Kadara... With Nicholas Boulton doing the audiobook reading himself? Would you buy it or focus primarily on your own head canons? I might buy it, I usually prefer to read myself. What I would do, if there ever was a book featuring him in some capacity, is reading his lines with his ingame voice in my head^^. Yes, they are so tight-lipped about everything. I think I'll save his romance for my third playthrough. Third time is the charm. To make the wait easier (or worse). |

I think I can safely say that I've played this game entirely too much. Am I the only one who's noticed that both the tech at the beginning talking to Lexi after our twin's pod malfunctions and Dr. Camden, the botanist are Nicholas Boulton? I only occasionally play the game in English and switched to listen to them. That's him? I wouldn't have recognized. I revisited Meridian and got some footage of the cavalry jumping into action.  |

Since it's my first day off in a while, I'm plotting out my Reyes Vidal fan fiction piece... Thank you for your interest! I will post a link as soon as I'm done. Since I am really bad with completing chaptered fanfiction, I intend on completing it and just uploading all of the chapters at once, so that will be fun. Will take a little while though! Reyes in a dapper suit... Since it's my first day off in a while, I'm plotting out my Reyes Vidal fan fiction piece... May or may not include the Reyes Vidal "sneaks onto Nexus in suit and is all handsome and dashing" dynamic. Should be fun and very, very violent. But... won't he stick out, being the only person in a suit on the whole damn Nexus? If sticking out to distract is not the point, of course. (No nitpicking meant, I just get way too chatty when alternate scenarios are mentioned) Well so far I am exploring two options: He slips in during a celebration of life in Andromeda where it's basically Tann trying to reach out to the Angara with a formal dress event. So no one is really none the wiser and he just flubs a really stupid alias that gets him into (humorous) trouble with Ryder as the night progresses. Or two: he makes it to the docking bay and just slips into the Vortex under the assumption that he's scoring a major deal with Vetra from the outpost on Kadara. By the time they realize that his alias doesn't match up with personnel records and Vetra is nowhere to be seen, he and Ryder are long gone. Can't decide which one I like more though lol |

These are more "modern timesy, but the colours would look AMAZING on Reyes These I got by googling "futuristic suits" lmao I think actually fashionable Reyes Vidal would really work these looks for sure. |

There would really have to be something huge going on... Yeah, it's wild. Have a blast headcanoning it in a similar way, with brute biotic power, sharp tongue and the need to stop playing the pathfinder for a while besides the things you mentioned. I loved it when Ryder's constant nagging at some point changed into liking him because he was amusing to interact with. And not intimidated in the slightest. (And between their complementing skills they might be kind of invincible) Btw is it just me or do the future suits look way cooler? |

Trust me, Reyes has a great reason for being there muhahaha! (That was me trying to be foreboding LOL) I adored that dynamic too!!! I felt that Ryder always had to play "grown up," making big decisions, dealing with difficult situations, etc. Reyes with his playfulness really takes them down a notch, gets them really flirty and playful (of course if you chose to play along) It's almost like Leia and Han in a way. They compliment each other. Especially since as Reyes gets to know Ryder better, you really feel him beginning to rely on someone emotionally. When you reach the final scene with Reyes and Ryder together, you can really feel his sigh of relief that he has someone to be honest with that cares for him. Reyder is a really great ship and I like it a lot (you can probably tell that already.) I read something similar (kind of) that explains the appeal of the futuristic suits. Now that you said Leia and Han I get a new image in my head that just won't leave, and that's Ryder kissing her own poor baffled brother to make a point to Reyes. It would be so fitting, especially if they ever get their flirt thing on again... and they will the moment they see each other, I suppose (much to Ryder's disconcertment, but hey, what can she do? she herself admits when she cools down that she likes him still, snipers be damned). Trust me, Reyes has a great reason for being there muhahaha! (That was me trying to be foreboding LOL) I adored that dynamic too!!! I felt that Ryder always had to play "grown up," making big decisions, dealing with difficult situations, etc. Reyes with his playfulness really takes them down a notch, gets them really flirty and playful (of course if you chose to play along) It's almost like Leia and Han in a way. They compliment each other. Especially since as Reyes gets to know Ryder better, you really feel him beginning to rely on someone emotionally. When you reach the final scene with Reyes and Ryder together, you can really feel his sigh of relief that he has someone to be honest with that cares for him. Reyder is a really great ship and I like it a lot (you can probably tell that already.) I read something similar (kind of) that explains the appeal of the futuristic suits. Basically, it was a Tumblr post about John Boyega's suit colour choices. It argued that John looks so good (because he is incredibly handsome) but also because he looks incredibly unique with his purple and red suits. That's probably the same thing going on with the 'futuristic" suits. They look so unique and, frankly, androgynous with their mix of fabrics, tight fit, unique cuts, that imagining them on a very attractive smuggler makes them look hella cool. HAHA Oh shit. Does this end with him running with all the choice beverages or will the place be torn to pieces, the angara scandalized for life and Tann hospitalized with a severe blast trauma from falling through the floor??? XD My OG Ryder was not a fan of Sloane, although she did kind of come to respect her, she was really selfish in that moment and chose the guy she loved over Sloane. This new Sara Ryder (who is stunning and who's character is insanely fun to play with) (That's her!) has Reyes all written out from the moment she lays eyes on him. What really shakes her to her core is that when he flirts with her, she flirts back and that they bring out the best (and most destructive) parts out of each other. She just falls head over heels and when more becomes revealed, really sees him as both someone to have around and as someone that can give her the support and love she needs in a relationship. I just wrote a cute scene with them together and I am currently having a squee fest about them, HAHA |

Since it's my first day off in a while, I'm plotting out my Reyes Vidal fan fiction piece... May or may not include the Reyes Vidal "sneaks onto Nexus in suit and is all handsome and dashing" dynamic. Should be fun and very, very violent. Aww, I hope it is included. This idea of infiltrating the party in a suit reminds me a bit of Kasumi's mission. I wish you good luck in writing this. Sounds like fun, I'll definitely read it when it's out. About those outfits, I vote for futuristic number 3 as well. (And between their complementing skills they might be kind of invincible) This made me think of this picture in my ever growing collection.  SourceI only occasionally play the game in English and switched to listen to them. That's him? I wouldn't have recognized. I revisited Meridian and got some footage of the cavalry jumping into action. Is that Evfra he arrives with? Interesting. I'm getting ideas... Yes, that's Evfra. XD My OG Ryder was not a fan of Sloane, although she did kind of come to respect her, she was really selfish in that moment and chose the guy she loved over Sloane. What really shakes her to her core is that when he flirts with her, she flirts back and that they bring out the best (and most destructive) parts out of each other. Honestly, I think it's Scott who deserves some compassion... being victimized by his sister's shenanigans just because she wants to troll somebody... At least Leia didn't know at the time. Talk about love and respect for family  (But really, I think Scott would get it. They are too thick for him not to. But still. You know.)
At that moment my Ryder was not about selfishness and more like "oh no, you wouldn't. And you won't". For various reasons, from respect for Kelly to the simple fact she promised to watch her back... and sort of attempted to talk her into cooperating the evening before and the fact she was invited to the Draullir party seemed like she was finally listening. Much as I would like the romance, I love it like this. While Ryder couldn't stomach it at that point (because it compromised her own honor, no other reason) it's fun to see her changing her mind about it slowly. Even realizing that at some points Reyes might see clearer than her, as she is still arrogant (or idealistic, though few would use that word around her) enough to think that you can/should always get away with your head high even when you are in a position of authority. Really, it all turns into just a point in the discussion betweeen them. Let's move on.
Lovely Ryder btw. I got too used to the one now. Can't change protagonists like that

Wow! I am such a whimp that literally cannot pick Sloane over Reyes in any capacity. (I also can't not romance him either) With of course it's currently making my Ryder now since really OOC because they're flirting up a storm, but what can I say? Reyes is pretty fantastic... My Ryder (i beat the game once, but now I'm doing it again) pulled a gun on Kelly and Reyes was so cute about it. Ryder: she pulled a gun on me! Reyes: *laughs in hot guy with secret identity, looking to overthrow Kadara's rulers* Your Ryder is crazy interesting! If you were to write something about her, I'd love to check it out. Doesn't he call them a "hell of a man/woman" if you don't shoot him when you warn Kelly about the sniper? I wrote this about Reyes (himself) and that dynamic with Ryder. Many stereotyped Reyes as somewhat of a bachelor, but the thought almost made him laugh. Hard. Certainly, he could always be found at the local bar, reclining in a booth all the way toward the back of the room. Far away from all the frantic flailing of piss poor dancers and the cheap Vodka that was more often found on the floor, rather than in someone's cup . Of course, some individuals would find themselves at his booth, stumbling over their words while swaying out of rhythm to the techno music, but Reyes seldom cared. Once he began his crusade against The Outcast’s as the Charlatan, he buried all other thoughts of romance and relationships in the forgotten places of his mind. The only thing he held at night was a stiff and strong glass of Whiskey and he had zero qualms with that.
But now, in some sort of karmic fashion, there was someone. His true equal. But rather than exchange bullets, they instead send embarrassing emails back and forth. Reyes didn’t know if he was disappointed or grateful. Ryder was, frankly, much more fun as a romance, rather than some sort of arch nemesis. But in the past, Reyes couldn’t tell which was which.
I'm trying to get as much information in Kadara as possible so everything seems in canon. Talk about fun homework! |

If sticking out to distract is not the point, of course. (No nitpicking meant, I just get way too chatty when alternate scenarios are mentioned)
Besides being a perfect setting, that's exactly the type of event that needs more Reyes trolling around (the other one being the krogan ball). Also, it reminds me of one of my own ideas with Reyes happening across Ryder on some social occasion post totally-not-having-Sloane-shot-in-the-back fallout, attemting to mask his presence by stuffing himself behind a sofa or pretending he's a taxidermized kett before she notices him, as he guesses that would kind of turn the civilized party into a hunt and kill Reyes party. Or at least "get the Pathfinder to kill the partying mood" party.(Nevermind it's almost impossible, who cares. Absurd scenario creating mind doesn't exactly ask 
)
(But really, I think Scott would get it. They are too thick for him not to. But still. You know.)
