Reyes Vidal - No longer A Mystery (Official Thread)

With the light hair and bold eyebrows I am reminded of Lady Gaga in a weird way (absolutely adore her). So the design is cool. However, due to the simplistic character appearance,(I kinda like it though) I wouldn't be surprised if they are just a background character or a character you slightly interact with like Gabby in engineering in ME2-3. 

I am leaning toward them looking feminine in appearance, but it's really blurry so I don't want to pull out that assumption just yet. 

At this level of bluriness it's pretty much impossible even to comment for sure about the amount of detail in the appearance. I'd lean towards female too, but I wouldn't want to commit. One thing that's certain is that it doesn't appear to be the person described in @daveliam's leak. No military buzz cut there!

Technically, that military buzz cut dude could be some off-world romance, couldn't it?  We don't know that person was actually Reyes.  In fact, we still don't know if Reyes is part of the crew at all.  

Which is why I never associated buzz-cut guy or the person in the picture with Reyes directly.

Hopefully, you're right. I'm so bored by his description...and I don't even think that Bioware would surprise me with his appearance.

I very seriously highly doubt this will be the case.   Bioware is very conscious of it's LGBT fans and if they drop the ball like that, they know there will be a riot.  I'm straight and even I would riot. I don't think that will be the case at all.  I think there will be at least one gay and one lesbian LI in the squad & crew.

Reyes's writer is Courtney Woods. 

Mmm! I was aiming more for the face model rather than the voice. And forgive my ignorant Americanism, but to be honest, I vary rarely can differentiate between spanish accents. They more or less sound the same whether they're from Spain, Mexico or say Chile. So...

Anyone already twitt her about Reyes stuff?

Well, if nothing else, him not showing up a lot in promo material and them being unable to talk about him does support him being gay. Usually, the hetero (and if asari the bi) characters get the marketing, and, after the immense backlash against DA:I having gay-only romances, they probably don't even want to let people's hopes up about him if they can't hetero-romance him, since Mass Effect's audience has always been a little less accepting. Unfortunately, this also might mean he's not a very significant character, though, to be fair, it's not like important NPCs in Inquisition got a lot of marketing either because of spoilers.

Other than that, I wonder what role he could have. We have a screenshot of someone else in the science officer's chair, so Reyes likely isn't the science officer of the Tempest. Maybe he's mission control?
