That part you circled is the cockpit/CIC. There is no room for a weapons/missile bay there. As for the 'guns', those are almost certainly sensors. Every aircraft has them. I agree that your option have bigger possibility but on picture is bottom of Tempest is shown and this part of hull definitely look like door. on this picture we can see another door which is main hangar door. There can be space for both Weapon bay and bridge if this part of ship have two or more decks. Sensors can be also this two sticks on begin of nose but we will find soon. it definitively isn't unarmed (this will be too strange decision) I agree I think it's just one of those things we won't find out about until the game releases. I doubt they'd leave both unarmed 1 yes both no because as you say that would be too strange

They look identical to pilot tubes. In space the things you see have lights on them similar to how aircraft in real life have them on wingtips, right where the gun-barrel would open. ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸
Oh, yes, Bio, navigation lights are an absolute necessity in deep space.
Yes it look same like "Pitot tubes" but I still think that this isn't sensors, navigation lights are red and green and it blink even on Federation starships have it

Does anyone remember if a dev said how much will we be able to customize the Tempest?
Can we upgrade her guns, armor, etc., or just cosmetic stuff?
I don't remember if they got into details with this.

Showed a pic of the Tempest galley to my wife. I should have know better.
... something about men can't find their way in the kitchen and only women should make kitchen designs. She pointed out the cabinets above the bench are.... "very easy access" she sarcastically said.
Well, yeah, but to me the main issue goes with those 'oldschool' utensils. I've been using 'smartcook' and 'multicook' pots for a decade or so, barely use anything else (other than the oven). And we don't have eezoo toothbrushes and omnitools just yet. Not to mention that cooking for the whole crew requires MUCH MORE space & massive kitchen devices. I'm not sure what they mean by that. I could never understand SR2 'kitchen' too. It's nothing like real-life marine galleys, with no 'safety rails' preventing any boiling pan from sliding off the stove during the maneuver. Hot pan with the boiling oil is the last thing one would want in the mess hall while evading the reaper.

Well, she's right - it's a dumb place to put them. How about a nice picture instead? Does anyone remember if a dev said how much will we be able to customize the Tempest? Can we upgrade her guns, armor, etc., or just cosmetic stuff? I don't remember if they got into details with this. Yeah well, no armour and no weapons so I guess that just leaves lipstick cosmetic changes

Yeah Hanako, I just read new topic about it but Thx for metoind me For me this nonsense and very unlogical decision of Bioware. Reasons for this my option is numerous: 1. Andromeda Initiative is founded in case that Cmdr. Shepard don't stop reapers in its mission to wipe Human civilization and Milky way galaxy from life. With taking about 100.000 Humans and other ME Spices to Andromeda. (don't know exactly number) 2. It is started in period of ME 2 & 3 while our galaxy been in war. 3. From our history we can see that in time of war civilian ships usually become armed even to the teeth. Look merchants transport ships in WW2 at begin of war it been unarmed and easy prey for German subs but after war going on it get good defense weaponry that subs cannot engage it on surface with its main gun because it become suicide mission for German U-Boats 4. In time of total war even civilian factories and shipyards become part of military so weapon mount is allowed there is no time for regular law which denied it (we also had numerous examples in WW2) 4. First Explorer ships to the New Word also carry guns for defense 5. Is very stupid to send ark with last hope of Mankind into unexplored Galaxy together with unarmed escorts 6. On end if Nomad & Tempest don't need weapon why its crew is armed to the teeth with small weapons?!!!I really hope that this is been demanted as no true news. I would like if we can made R&D of weapons and technologies in which we enoucerd in Andromeda that we can made customization of Tempest with it then...ps even Oberth science starship have 2 phraser banks and at least one photon torpedo launcher sto.gamepedia.com/Oberth_Class_Light_Science_Vessel

To be clear, the official reason for going to Andromeda is completely unrelated to the Reapers, and the Initiative left the MW before the invasion started and the general population believed the threat was real. While it might be a secret reason behind the project, it's not the official reason for the project and Bioware never said it's related to going to Andromeda.

Yes, which makes 13ly a smidgen above 12ly and still very inferior to reaper tech.
Yep. The Tempest ironically enough is actually on the lower end of the scale when it comes to the speed of our cycle's ships. Not necessarily. The wiki is talking about the top speed possible for those ships, most ships may be well below that. It's interesting that the limit is described as being the limit to avoid time dilation. Presumably, if you didn't care about time dilation you could exceed that. After all, keep applying thrust and you'll keep accelerating. Keep accelerating and you will, by definition, keep increasing your speed. Presumably ships have to stop once a day to discharge the core which is why FTL speed can be quoted in light years per day. Even then, given that half the time is spent accelerating and the other half decelarating. At the mid point they must be travelling faster than 12 per day for 12 to make sense as an average. The arks, with their ODSY drive, and subject to fuel, wouldn't need to ever stop accelerating if they didn't care about the time dilation. But, I suppose, if the idea is to eventually establish links with the Milky Way avoiding time dilation might still be something they'd prefer.

I'm hoping the next briefing will be on our squadmates and crew onboard the Tempest, kind of a formal introduction sort of thing. That or just some information on them, like Addison Foster, Nakmor Kesh and Sloane Kelly had in the Nexus briefing.

I think the briefing will be next week, so I'd say the "more then just a trailer" part will be that we'll finally see Cora and Liam today, plus their VA (and Vetra's?) and a little background.

Given the past form of these sort of statements, I suspect that whatever it is, it will be accompanied by slight disappointment.
Or I could be completely wrong and it'll be amazing.
(Pls be the 2nd one...)
