I think that Tempest is Armed and it have nice design much better then Normandy but Nomad look like unarmed APC which is very unusual design for exploration APC which is mission to explore un known planets yeah it looks like the Tempest has a couple of guns strapped to it's wings to me so I think the Tempest is armed certainly not he Normandy SR2 level of fire power but I'd be surprised if it didn't have the SR1 type firepower though if it was required. Also one of the reasons why it was made lighter and more maneuvreable was so that it could land on planets drop people of and bug out if necessary, or vice versa give the crew a place to retreat too and take off quickly. It sounds like the Tempest like the Normandy has a stealth drive as well based on what the pilot said in the breifing so even if they could catch us they'd still have to find us. Remember that that's only possible with a visual scan really as normal scanners don't pick up stealth ships. That's how Commander Shepard and co outwitted the reapers and geth after all in the trilogy. The only way the locals would know how to deal with that is to be familiar with that kind of technology in the first place and know that we had such tech ourselbves which I wouldn't imagine they would know that at first. Look at picture in attachment I mark one part on Tempest hull which look as missiles/weapon bay like missile bays on today Stealth Fighters/bombers like F-22/B-2 + it remember me little on B-1B...

That part you circled is the cockpit/CIC. There is no room for a weapons/missile bay there. As for the 'guns', those are almost certainly sensors. Every aircraft has them.

I liked what I saw. Tempest looks really fancy compared to the Normandy. Not sure how I feel about the Nomad yet. All comes down to how it handles and how empty/full the spaces are we get to drive it around in.

I watched Briefing #3 again and I latched on to something.
We now know the Tempest can do 13 LY/day. Why did Bio feel it necessary to tell us? It is because some of the quests are in Real Time ( think War Table)? Are some missions time sensitive? Is the Meeting Room the place to select quests?
Personally, I'm not fond of time quests at all.

In space the things we see also have navigation lights, right where the gun-barrel would open.

They told us because most ships in the MWG at the time of the Reaper War are only capable of about 12. So it is faster, hence the whole bit about lighter armament and stuff.

Wasn't the Normandy SR1 or SR2 capable of 15 light years per day? If so, their excuse lost all validity since the Normandy is faster while armored and heavily armed.

Unless the ship's speed it tied to time related quests, the information tells me the the Tempest is a fast cargo vessel. Well, perhaps a glorified cruise ship since the Pathfinder quarters can be a harem (ie: access by invitation only).

Yes, which makes 13ly a smidgen above 12ly and still very inferior to reaper tech.
EDIT:
From Mass-Wiki The exact FTL speeds at which starships of the modern galaxy travel are unknown. It is noted, however, that Reapers are believed to be capable of traveling nearly 30 light-years.... within a 24-hour period.
The interesting thing is that FTL speeds can be anything. Therefore, a new FTL engine can exceed 30ly/d if the BIO writers want it.

Yep. The Tempest ironically enough is actually on the lower end of the scale when it comes to the speed of our cycle's ships.

Showed a pic of the Tempest galley to my wife. I should have know better.
... something about men can't find their way in the kitchen and only women should make kitchen designs. She pointed out the cabinets above the bench are.... "very easy access" she sarcastically said.

So the Pathfinder "... has any destination in the Helios cluster right at their finger tips...". Video at appx. 1:35
This gave me pause. I'm thinking quests and cluster missions and their distance from the Nexus. So, what is the spherical volume of the Helios cluster? I'm thinking about 200 ly across or a 100ly radius from the Nexus. The Tempest would take less than 7.7 days (13ly/d) to reach any point within the Helios cluster from the Nexus station.
So, you guys think the Helius cluster is bigger?

No, the Helios Cluster is smaller than what you are guessing. Well, at least if Bioware sticks to what astronomers consider a star cluster. A star cluster can be anywhere between 10-30 light years across. So the spherical volume would be anywhere from 1000-27000 light years. It would take the Tempest anywhere from 18 hours, 27 minutes, 41.4 seconds to 2 days, 7 hours, 23 minutes, 4.56 seconds to cross the entire Helios Cluster, plus however long it takes to discharge, refuel, etc.

Here's is a great Mass Effect Hero Ship size comparison. (credit to the artist) I put it behind spoiler tags because of the original size. I like that the tempest is so space efficient and small, as that lways bothered me with the Normandy versions.

Do you guys in this topic also think that Nomad should by unarmed? I think people would abuse its use too much, if it had a big cannon like ME1 Mako. Fighting "on foot" is the way they seem to be imagining it now for us, even if you have the Nomad at your disposal.

Maybe BW are fans of Doctor Who and they wanted to make Tempest alike Tardis. So after we see it in game we will say - "It's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside"

I agree that your option have bigger possibility but on picture is bottom of Tempest is shown and this part of hull definitely look like door. on this picture we can see another door which is main hangar door. There can be space for both Weapon bay and bridge if this part of ship have two or more decks. Sensors can be also this two sticks on begin of nose but we will find soon. it definitively isn't unarmed (this will be too strange decision) Attachment Deleted
