It's good to see a firm date for upcoming official news from the Mass Effect team. BTW - Yanick is the Studio Director for BioWare in Montréal.

Also stated on masseffect.com/news:

"Mass Effect: Andromeda is coming to the PlayStation 4 Pro in early 2017 ... with crisper visuals, high-dynamic range lighting, and the most lifelike characters we’ve ever created."  PS4 Pro will play Andromeda at 4K resolution.

and... "For PC gamers, Mass Effect: Andromeda will support 4K resolution and Dolby Vision."

Maybe now I have a legitimate reason to buy a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 8GB ROG STRIX OC Edition Graphic Card and a 4K monitor.


Now if only they would announce the release date for the ME:A Initiation prequel book...

A PC game has to be very old to not have 4K support, I find it bizarre Bioware is rubbing in this "feature" so intensely, we've been having it for 10 years over here at PC Master Race(tm).
VtM: Bloodlines from 2004 (Source) does not support 4K and requires fan-made patches to make it work.
Mass Effect 1 from 2007 (UE3) has 4K support, has no problems maintaining 60fps on Geforce 970.
For comparison, DA:I (Frostbite) has 4K support, runs at around 23FPS average with everything on Ultra plus "fade-touched textures" thingie, except AA off.

For me 4K starts making sense at 50" and above which is getting into TV territory. Don't get me wrong, a 55" OLED from LG is nice and all, but there are some awkward moments like price and minor input lag. Also LG clearly didn't test their 2016 models for PC use, TV automatically dims the TV if the picture is mostly static after 10 minutes, like browsing BSN forums, and that "feature" is always on and cannot be turned off.

Death threats make me laugh my candy ass off, like seeing people on youtube cry their eyeballs out when Negan bashed Glenn's eyeball out. Overractions amuse me to no end. Still, extreme or otherwise, those reactions make a point.

Bioware thinks their shit don't stink and they instead backed themselves into a solid steel wall with their "artistic integrity", and the only way they could erase their mistake is to fast forward a gazillion years into the future where absolutely nothing in the original trilogy matters.
