At this rate, they may as well have just made them a fully preset character and give us no options. I knew the moment I heard them talk about this sibling thing, I would hate it. And Bioware has certainly delivered on that. I'm sorry you feel that way, and that your fears were confirmed. I'm still interested about the family dynamic though.Same here, I'm looking forward to how it all plays out.

Bioware has a bad track record when it comes to handling family dynamics onscreen. I'd rather be able to determine my character's family situation.

Same here too, I'd rather play a well fleshed out character with an interesting back-story than a blank slate with poorly developed backstory.

In regards to the family stuff, as long as it isn't another son/daughter having a difficult relationship with their father, then I'm fine with it.
Seriously though, not another daddy issues shtick.
What do the devs have against their fathers?

What do the devs have against their fathers? I want that to be optional. I would like to project my own daddy issues onto my character the added drama. Also an option to be on bad terms with your sibling. Would make the family dynamic more interesting imo.

My biggest question is if Cora can be seduced by Sara and what shes rockin down below. She looks to me a landing strip kind of gal.

Here's what the character assessment blurbs say: SAM
Does this seem like a colossally stupid idea to anyone else? If Ryder doesn't get hacked at some point in the game, I'll be disappointed. This better at least be acknowledged as a serious risk. Personally, I wouldn't like the idea of something else being in even partial control of my body or especially mind. I guess both Ryder siblings are huge risk-takers by default? Speaking of which, still irked about the different backgrounds, but does this imply that Scott is ambitious and potentially jealous, and Sara is into science? Dumb as it may be, I'd at least like the latter.

So Anaylisis mode of the Briefing Trailer:
So the whole map thing is indicitive of...something. Not sure exactly what. First off the unlikely thing it could indicate is that all 7 'Habitats' are within the same Solar System. Kind of like Firefly. I doubt this is the case though and think that the map was just a larger map of the Helios Cluster, or a section of the Helios Cluster. But if that's the case then it means that Stellar phenmon we have seen over and over again in the trailers and other marketing material could be what makes the Helios cluster 'unique'. It could be why so many Golden Worlds are in this particular region of space. Which since they keep on showing it over and over again, or at least things like it, it may actually be significant to the plot rather then 'oh look at this pretty thing we keep doing'.
The other thing I really find interesting fascinating about it is they could actually be trying again to give their protags a proper character arc (see Hawke, and the Inquisitor) in the game. Cora mentions she is second in command of the Pathfinder team and other sources indicate she will likely replace Alec if he goes down. But we know from marketing that she doesn't...at least permanently. Is she a Cassandra type character who does not like assuming a leadship role? Or does something happen for the story that makes sense for Ryder to assume leadership? I am pumped as hell by the possibilities. That you as a character might go from being a low end 'recruit' to 'recon specialist' to 'Pathfinder' if they pace it out...like they did for Dragon Age 2...well frankly Ryder's character arc has the potential to be really, really amazing. I wanna squee.

Considering Alec Ryder has somethng similar, the briefing mentioned that the Pathfinder team has something similar, and its not too much of a stretch to suggest the other Pathfinder's (Salarian, Asari, etc). Have similar pieces of technology. But considering this was also a much larger concern for Shepard when you get down to it, and Shepard suffered from no ill effects, I doubt Ryder will.

We already are recon specialist at the start of the game, is was stated on GI coverage. It's also our title regardless of the profile chosen at rank 1.

If other Pathfinders share the SAM technology that would explain why we have to find Archon. Maybe he is collecting Pathfinders tech specifically.

I wanna squee. Me too! The trailer was a bit generic but this AI briefing was awesome. At about 4:20 in the Dec 1 trailer there's a brief gameplay shot of Ryder on what I think is the first planet, where she only has Liam for company. Maybe something happens to Cora early on and that leads to Ryder becoming the Pathfinder instead? If that's true, I hope she's not absent for too long. She and my Ryder are gonna make some beautiful biotic explosions together.

Anyone else notice that the initial roster of Briefing videos has been altered? We still have the same number as we started (four out of six out now) but the first gave an overview of what was coming up: "Ark and Nexus overviews... Tempest and Nomad certification... Settlement Establishment guidelines... First Contact protocols... and lastly Weapon and Biotics training" We've gotten the first two, but the "Pathfinder" video is either out of order or a new insert into this timeline. Are the Settlement and First Contact briefings going to be the same video, or what?

Heh, consider that at the start of the game we crashed on a planet, as we see in the first cinematic trailer and articles stated. I guess Cora fell on another zone. She's with us in Peebee's recruitment mission, which I think happens early on, so I think she's fine.
