Heh, consider that at the start of the game we crashed on a planet, as we see in the first cinematic trailer and articles stated. I guess Cora fell on another zone. She's with us in Peebee's recruitment mission, which I think happens early on, so I think she's fine. She's the lead female, of course she's gonna be fine. And really, after ME2, Bioware's gonna plot armor at least half of them HARD All of them judging from an answer they gave about squadmate deaths.

I meant she'd be fine right after the start of the game, when we regroup. It's clear she's fine because she is with us later on the game, but there were suggestions of her being captured as a reason for Ryder becoming the new Pathfinder, which I don't think is what happened.

The other thing I noticed was there are literally 7 habitats throughout the area. Now I thought this was a throw away line that meant their could be any number of habitats and the number 7 has to do with more galactic coordinates. But, if there are 7 of them, might that mean there is a planet for each species...ergo...7 species in the initial trip? And we know of at least five of them, speculation on the other two?

So there might be something that lead the human leaders (?) to choose Ryder over her.

That's an easy one, obviously Ryder twins gonna sleep their way through the Nexus management to become the new Pathfinder!

Found this on Gaf, which in turns found it on Reddit, it's descriptions of the seven Habitat words:
Habitat 3 "Rolling hills and rich jungle"
Habitat 1 "Arid yet comfortably habitable with vast underground rivers"
Habitat 7 "Lush tropical paradise"
Habitat 5 "(Moon) Suitable for dextro-protein life"
Habitat 6 "Life sustaining temperate garden world"
Habitat 4 "Life sustaining garden world, with plenty of liquid water"
Habitat 2 "(Moon) Incredible mineral and resource wealth."

I wonder if there will be an explanation as to why the N7 logo is not in the same spot as it is on Shepard's armor?

Edit: Ah, The Elder King's post mentions a dextro-suited planet (moon), so it appears I was right, or close.

I wonder if there will be an explanation as to why the N7 logo is not in the same spot as it is on Shepard's armor? Does there need to be a reason why a non-standard piece of equipment that's probably tailored specifically to the tastes of the individual needs to have an explanation as to why a logo moved places between two unrelated characters?

By restricting our movement to one area, they can sort of mask this, though; so 'tropical lush' planet could be taken to mean 'planet whose good parts which we'll visit anyway, are tropical & lush'. What irritates me more is the single character/temperament species. Ferengi are money grubbers, Klingons are belligerent brutes, etc. In a supposedly progressive show as Star Trek -- the worst kind of 'racial' stereotyping. ME inherits all this wholesale, of course. And somehow it's only the humans who exhibit the entire gamut of possible character/temperament/vocation/whatever. As if to say that only we have agency, masters of our own destinies, while all other species just play out a role that is set for them from the get go.

I generally find Mass Effect (and Dragon Age more so) better then Trek in this regard. But then even Trek did have a few examples....though the one I am thinking of also had Worf lead them to rediscovering their Klingoness, damn.

There was the Ferengi scientist episode that was pretty good. (Mystery episodes revolving around Dr. Crusher were generally pretty good; some of those were directed by Gates McFadden herself.) Yeah, in ME species are a bit more diverse; the Asari certainly are.
