I liked Jowan, but I really felt bad for Lily. She was innocent, at least in regards to knowing Jowan was a blood mage. I forgot the name of the prison the Templar commander sent her to but it sounded horrific. Not that all prisons aren't horrific in their own right.

The Aeonar.Yes, poor Lili, why didn't run away with Jowan? I know, she was really Andrastian. The blood magic terrified her. In the wiki for The Aeonar, Kirby says the prison is trial by fire. Wonder what they do to Lilly to determine if she is not possessed by a demon because of her relationship with Jowan. No wonder she was terrified. Kind of sad because Cullen in DA2 seemed more sympathetic and put a watch closely on Keiran and I think probation for a number of years. Could Templars leave the tower, there must have been another way out. Yeah if only she could have escaped with him. That sounds terrible. I was really hoping for Jowan and a mage Warden to rescue her.

Jowan really should've told her the truth from the beginning. Should he? Of course, in normal circumstances... but in the Circle? You're kidding, right...? Did you saw Lily's reaction? Probably Jowan knew that. Lily didn't break up with him, because he lied, but because he terrified. She would have betrayed him as quickly as possible! I can see his reason. Not a brave, honest reason, but ... Jowan, not that brave guy (he was able to be brave, but not at the moment. He don't even think, he could be...) People in such an environment than the Circle, can't trust anyone. This is very understandable. The real healthy love relationship almost totally excluded, or/and sentenced to death (Wynne–templar guy: unhealthy and doomed, Anders–Karl: healthy, but doomed, we didn't see a good example...). It's really easy to condemn him from a healthy environment. But the Circle everything just not healthy. I know, my opinion is not really on a strong moral base... but the Circles aren't a morally strong base for a mage, or for everyone.

My Amell went and collected him when he became a Tranquil. He became her personal assistant in Amarathine for sometime, until the Mage and Templar war than in which case he came with her when she was off collecting the cure for the Blight and became a real source of comfort to the Warden as she missed Alistair greatly. That's my headcount for what happened to Jowan.

Jowan really should've told her the truth from the beginning. Jowan should have but he is a fool, a likeable one but still. He can't see the repercussions of his actions, he hops from one thing to another without thinking it through. So desperate to get out of the circle he can't understand that the Templars are watching and he is not hiding his interest in blood magic. He doesn't trust Lily in part because she is a Templar, she might have if he went slowly and explained, if there relationship was strong enough. But Jowan's nature and character wouldn't allow for that. She is a priestess, though.

She is a priestess, though. She is Chantry? Oh sorry my mistake. I thought she was a Templar. Wouldn't it apply the same though? She's a sister, yes. But I don't think this matters (same system)... or, can matter: a Chantry sister perhaps fears more. Jowan has reason to hold back this information – or at least don't rush Lyli with it.

That sounds terrible. I was really hoping for Jowan and a mage Warden to rescue her. Me too. Thought we would find a way out in the basement then a quest to help Lily. Wonder what happened to her in the prison. From World of Thedas Vol 2; Something Has Changed.
I am Lily, myself, alone. There is no-one in this cell except me, and I am myself.
I write these words each day. At Aeonar, it's wise to remind yourself of these things. Especially now.
The last inmate the Templars brought in was a boy, wearing velvet with one sleeve torn off. A noble from Hercinia, the whisper ran, suspected to be an apostate hidden by his family while he practiced blood magic on their servants. The Templars locked him in a cell. He ranted and cursed at them, but the rest of us grew quiet, waiting.
Aeonar is a prison designed to let things in. The Veil here is so perilously thin that even I can feel it. The denizens of the Fade gather like monstrous shapes pressing against a fine curtain. And if you are a maleficar or an apostate, you are a beacon to them, ripe for possession. Thus, the Templars bring those here who are accused, but whose true nature cannot be proven. Aeonar is the terrible, final test.
Within a few days, we all heard it from the boy's cell - that horrid, gobbling shriek that never becomes familiar. The Templars were quick. Knight-Captain Brynn sees that keep their swords sharp as mercy. We exhaled again.
I am Lily, myself, alone. I am no maleficar, just a Chantry initiate who loved deeply, and foolisly. My lover... my Jowan... revealed himself as a blood mage and was forced to flee his Circle. I wanted to go with him. I wanted to stand by his side. He swore the rumours were false - that he'd never think of using such terrible magic. But it was a lie, one of many he must have told me.
It has been years now, studying and praying in my cell or walking the halls where Tevinter mages once did their experiments. New faces arrive, and I lie awake waiting to hear the shriek. Sometimes the Templars administer... tests, as abominations can be cunning and patient. The tests leave their scars, but each time I pass. I am Lily still.
"I will speak to my superiors again", Knight-Captain Brynn told me. But something has changed. There have been no Chantry messengers in weeks, and the Templar's frowns deepen. The last messenger fears there might be open war between the mages and the Templar Order. What does that mean for us? Aeonar is an isolated fortress, a fine prize for any mage skilled in demonology, and the Templars might decide to purge this place, for their own safety.
With no new orders, Knight-Captain Brynn must decide for himself what to do. He's a good man. But as Aeonar teaches, sometimes being a good man means having a well-honed blade.
- From a diary sent to Seeker investigators, who later found Aenoar deserted with no signs of violence. Poor Lily.

It would have been nice if she popped up in a future game. Her with her family living on a farmstead, far away from the troubles of the world. Alas, we know nothing of her fate. That's why in DA:O i chose mages. DA2 mages. DA:I mages. My characters are the voices for the voiceless.

This also raises two horrible possibilities if you were playing a Mage Warden. The Warden tried to find out what happened to Lily and/or get her wrongful conviction in Aeonar overturned, but even being the Hero of Ferelden didn't give a mage enough influence to convince the Templars or Chantry to release her. Or, with all the chaos going on during and after the Blight, they simply forgot about her.

Or, with all the chaos going on during and after the Blight, they simply forgot about her. For the first. I think even as a mage the Chantry/Templars would listen to the Warden. After all they are revered and everyone immediately stops what they're doing to hear them out. After all that Knight Commander in the Circle wanted to hang both you and Jowan, but when Duncan stepped in and invoked the right of conscription. The Commander's hands were tied. And even later when you return and the Circle is in chaos, the Commander considers your proposal even while thinking about annulment. So yes Warden's command a lot of respect even Loghain knew that. Mage Warden is my second favorite playthrough next to Cousland. As for the second. By the Maker I hope not.
