ME:A will be a bright spot in 2017?

That is assuming the world doesn't go to shit and we live long enough to see release date.

I honestly have little expectations as far as ME:A is concerned. I'm not even bracing for disappointment, I just feel like it's going to suck. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it doesn't, but someone's going to have to force me to play it somehow, because I sure as hell am not buying this thing day 1. Discount bin, more like.

I mean I've hated the premise for this thing from the very start.

"Let's take all the races and all the old things to a whole new galaxy!"

It's ridiculous.

I hope not, it would mean the year was truly awful. I'm a bit more hopeful about Syria since Aleppo was liberated and I hope that will be the highlight of the year. In any event I'm willing to include a few hours of sci fi entertainment in the bucket of good things.

There will be a direct correlation between how good or bad my 2017 will be, and the number of, "The Women Are Ugly" threads NuBSN generates.

EDIT: Whelp, I just found out General Organa died. A shit ending to 2016, and a blow to SciFi in general.

2016 was a good year for me. Got my ps4. Played some good games.

2017 looks good. If MEA doesn't do well there's other games that will interest me. The God of War game I'm looking forward to. Kratos looks good in the trailer. There's the Horizon Zero Dawn that looks good. I'm sure there are others.

Nothing can make up for this year. Carrie Fisher just died because, you know, our nuts weren't thoroughly trampled enough. Here's hoping next year we're collectively less complacent about our health, our politics, and our sanity. We're going to need to be.

Because, especially when you reach a certain age, it starts to be the people who contributed to formative parts of your life who are dying. No, it's not the same as when friends or family die, but it's also not the same as someone you've never met - even if you have never met them. And as most people consume various forms of entertainment it tends to be people in those industries who affect you the most.

Well, from an American standpoint...after the ugliest election in memory, 24% of the population managing to elect a notoriously corrupt businessman who at best likes to brag about assaulting women and at worst likes to make Twitter announcements about his plans for nuclear proliferation in between appointing white nationalists to his cabinet and expressing admiration for dictators, watching the horror of Aleppo unfold and knowing we did nothing about it, the Arctic having two record-breaking ice melts in the span of a month and a half while our politicians are still bloviating about 'politicized science' and denying climate change is real...

yeah, 2016 wasn't great on a national level, but it is what it is. I don't have tons of hope for 2017, but for me ME:A will provide some nice escapism in between working to make sure things don't slide even further into the toilet in my own state at least, so. That's really all I can ask for, I don't expect it to make up for much else.

(and no, I don't want to get in a political back and forth, everyone here is welcome to their opinion same as I'm welcome to mine )

How does saying a year is gonna suck qualify me as a pretend "prophet of the apocalyspse". There are alot of years that have sucked but don't result in an apocalyse.
