Yes, now and then someone will refer to your Scott/Sara by their default name. And I'm guessing, sometimes they'll use Ryder. It may depend on how close you are to an NPC. Wow that sucks so if your character has another name during those Scenes it'll be just Ryder.  Like in MET, Shepard was always Shepard or Commander. At least this time we have the chance of getting a first name. |

I'm sure others have tried. it'll probably work a lot like the sports games where it will have a list of names the game can pronounce, including nicknames, that you can choose from, or it will just keep that kind of thing in the background and certain names just won't work. |

My Ryder will be like my Shepard/Warden/Hawke/Inquisitor in that she'll be a tough, but kindhearted person. I've never yet successfully played a full run being a jerk. It's just too hard for me, but at some point I'll try yet again. Especially since it sounds like they did away with the Paragon/Renegade thing. That might make it easier. LOL I tried all the classes in the first three games and Vanguard is definitely my favorite, so that's what I'll work with first. Hopefully things will be improved enough that the other classes will be exciting to try too. Like me she'll be a lesbian, not truly butch, but not femme and I'll do a couple different runs to try different romances. It sounds like you can sleep around a bit this time so I'll probably do a run where she's a player. I'm not one in real life and I prefer romantic, strong relationships so once I get a feel for the ladies available I'll have a better idea who my main sweetie will be.  |

When it comes to gender, class, background, I think I am going to go old school. I have a bag of polyhedral dice I haven't used in a while and I will roll a character. Totally random.
Based on that, I will then decide how to role the character.

When it comes to Bioware games, game after game I want to roleplay a character that is out for themselves and doesn't do anything for free, or if it doesn't benefit them directly, but unfortunately I am stuck playing the GODDAMN HERO every game, so I guess another run of those. I've never really felt like the character is MINE when it comes to Bioware, and I am kinda used to it, it is not why I play their games, I have other games where I can roleplay a character that is truly mine.
Class wise.. depends, I tend to powergame and I enjoy the game the most when my character is the strongest, so I'll do some research into given powers and abilities and see which ones are the best, and then pick a playstyle.

I'd really like to play a broRyder with a softer personality, perhaps a bit socially awkward even if his heart's in the right place. Y'know, young , idealistic and defs feels like he's in over his head (He probably wishes his sister or Cora were made pathfinder instead). I'm going to go sentinel this time around, perhaps going into pure adept/engineer if I need to, because I love me some biotics and hybrid classes  I'm actually having a bit of fun imagining that he really wants to remain diplomatic and non-violent; "I don't need an army. Because I didn't come to fight!" |

But every game, the first time I play a knight in sour armor, melee-based, female Johnny Dollar.
The Ryders seem young enough so that I might have an interesting twist on it this time around.
I kind of have a look in mind (Aleut, megapunky hair, heavy makeup, basically trying too hard because she's a young'un), but we'll see how much pain and suffering that inflicts in the character creator. HOW FAR WILL I GOT TO MAKE SURE THE WHOLE FAMILY LOOKS PERFECT. ONLY TIME WILL TELL.

All male (cause I am a MAYUN!!  ) I'll have default Bro Ryder as perhaps my second playthrough. He doesn't look as cool and potent as Sheploo. First playthrough will be based on my main (Hektus) Shepard. Red hair, red goatee, red eyes, Renegon. Personality wise, he's a battle hardened guy with a sarcastic tone to authority and a sense of humor. He is a merciless biotic freight train on the battlefield and a hardassed commander to his underlings. Despite this he has a sense of humor with squadmates as they develop. |

I've always preferred to play characters with a more scientific background so this combined with the fact she has abit of humour about her makes think I'm really going to like playing her. |

John Ryder. His voice acting is incredible imo-- which makes me very excited to play him as a witty renegade. He's probably not going to be a adept as to not mess with with my Shepard power fantasy- hah! Maybe he'll be a infiltrator with biotic charge, infiltrator's cloak and the biotic shield thingie? |

I'll be playing as default Scott , though I'll check out the custom creator.
He'll be the pinnacle of professionalism. Diplomatic, but willing and able to kick alien tail. The mission will come first, though a certain blonde may be able to crack through his cool exterior.
He'll rock the biggest, baddest AR he can find, a sniper, a shotty, and a hand cannon as a backup weapon, so he has a gun for every situation. I'll obviously be using the Soldier preset.

At the moment I'm still undecided which sibling I will play first personality - not sure. I like for them to be extremely ruthless like my Shepard. I doubt that will be possible. So for now I will wait to see what the game offers. Both will put humans first before aliens. If by chance Cerberus is in the game, which I'm not betting on, my Ryder will support them. Even wear Cerberus armor if possible romance - humans only and most likely a crewmember or maybe a character that is stationed on the Nexus with looks, it depends on what can be done in the character creator look like a younger Clint Eastwood from Rawhide or look like Charles Bronson with femRyder maybe look like Linda Hamilton from Terminator 2 or Milla jovovich from Resident Evil |

It not going to make a difference for me if my character is called Sara or Ryder because I didn't choose a name. And I like doing that. So I was thinking Skye Ryder but after thinking a little more it sounds a bit silly  |
