I tried my hand at this just to see what would happen.... #1)Fail: Wave 2 out of my own stupidity. Got backed into a corner and got murdered. #2)Fail: Wave 6 trying to do devices. Thought I'd complete the last one and stayed too long. Got hammered into the ground with only a couple of seconds to go maybe. Might try again later on to see if I can get farther.

Attempt number four: Fail... wave one. That one's gonna haunt me for a while, me guess. Completion time, just under four minutes Gotta be the most embarrassing fail ever. Attempt number five: Fail wave eight. Devices on wave three ware handled not with a second to spare. I kid you not, the clock was on zero and it still took me three second to finish the device. How that happened, I'll never know. May have finally learned to kite, so there's silver lining. Wave six, got that hack that's hard to hack, so when I kited and came back, there were two guardians standing vigil... lost two gels because I couldn't untangle myself properly. After that, I pretty much knew I was boned, but I kept pushing, just to see how far I could get. Cheating prime got the best of me, with it's snipering ways. Time, 35:19. Shows I took it quite a bit slower this time. My fingers are really itching for a Reegar now. Failing on wave one or two happens to all of us, it's part of the grind, I've more or less quit platinum soloing now but I had this attempt with the huntress a few weeks ago where I rage quitted wave one due to having the same f:ing Atlas repaired three times by engineers, that was just to much. Valkyrie/Reegar is very powerful, but some of the waves with plenty of Phantoms and Dragoons can be a bit annoying, the Reegar is heavy so you can't detonate so frequently to stun them, as Q wrote above the Venom is an excellent choice for the Valkyrie (especially for Cerberus, with the Reegar Reapers is a bit more relaxed imo).

Can't agree here with my well respected colleague., Reegar is not a heavy shotgun, not heavier than raider at least.Reegar trivialize everything with a warp or incend power.

Always free to disagree ofc I think Reegar/Valkyrie is one of the most powerful set-ups in the game (AIU/Reegar isn't even close), but for Cerberus it also requires a bit of experience and skill. A long time ago when I did my first sub 30 solo it was Valkyrie/Reegar vs Reapers, I had tried a few times vs Cerberus but at least back then I had lots of problems with wave 7 and 9 with that set-up, the first time I did a serious attempt with the Venom vs Cerberus instead I was just a few seconds away from a sub 25. I think it's a bit about skill and experience also, if you are just starting out soloing it can be a bit tough to handle multiple goons and Phantrolls with the Reegar while the Venom trivialize them (Atlases becomes far more annoying though).

Yes,if it's your first plat solo, the goons or the phantrolls could be very disapointing with reegar.Reegar can stun the enemies too, with a HS,but not like venom.

I defer to the experienced soloers who know how the kit works to give better advice. Can you remind us of what setup you are using (gear, ammo, etc)? BAT SIGNAL: CALLING ALL SOLOING PROS! I've done many asari sent runs, with a different weapons, but the easiest way is with venom.Venom sucks versus the bosses, but eats everything else for breakfast. The incendiary ammo are the best choice for her.Incendiary glitch kills the enemies for a second.Warp ammo are good choice too. Also i eqip AC for the most of the solos, but GS is also great option.

Even in your failures , your timing is damn impressive. You are a possible candidate for speed runs. Gee, thanks Not sure what to say to that. I agree, it's pretty fast, at least for a newbie like myself. But then again, the pole is set pretty high, when it comes to speed running around here Nevertheless, thanks. Meanwhile, attempt number six: Decided to go with Arc Pistol vanilla AA this time. Fail on wave three. I think I got too used to AF+Warp being my emergency exit and no fitness AA is, even with Cyclonics IV, too vulnerable to last long in plat. Lost three gels and three op packs on wave one and targets on wave three were the final nail in the metaphorical coffin. The setup has potential(no shit Sherlock), but I'll have to get used to it more. Maybe try a Gold solo first. Enough soloing for some time. More attempts on weekend, when I get back home. Will try giving Valkyrie Reegar first and then Venom. Sadly, my Venom is only Mark VI, so it's not as strong or light as it could be, but worth a shot. Thanks for the kind and encouraging words everybody Gonna keep trying this until I succeed. Or until I hammer the console to the pulp. Whichever comes first

Yesterday when I got on I checked the AHF chat and of course it was empty. I loaded up U/U/G with Kishock/Batsent and drew Geth/Giant. Nobody joined so 24 mins. later, inadvertent solo #1.
I needed flamer points so queued up Rippahz/Glacier with the Reegar/Trooper. 18:06. I'm sure it's not a record but it was a personal best. I'll screenshot when I sub 18.
I got all the flamer points I needed then switched to U/U/G with Arc pistol/Paladin. Ended up with White/Rippahz(again). Wiped on wave 10 devices. Horrible horrible device placements + bullshit Banshee jump ended that run. I didn't get all my Snap Cheese points.
Needing some redemption, I setup White/Geth/Gold with the hatesurfing Batguard. 19:37. On W11, I drew everything to the LZ and proceeded to BC and melee everything for most of the countdown. It felt glorious.

Seriously, I think stubbornness is a major determinant of success in soloing. MOI123's quest for a gold solo was super inspiring. I think he tried over 100 times. Link added in OP.

Nice! What kit/gun/map/faction are you using? The map has always been Giant and I've tried several Soldier class kits using different guns, Harrier, GPS, and so on. Been trying to do it with Reapers for the most part as well. I like the Soldier class the most and I've been trying them with that class. Tried 2 more times after I posted: #3)Fail: Wave 8 out of my dumbassery again. Got surrounded and taken out. #4)Fail: Wave 10 doing devices again. Got snuck up on and died quickly. Then I got this on the next one: Giant/Reapers Krogan Soldier/Geth Plasma Shotgun/Carnifex Survivor Loadout/Shogun AmpIII/Incendiary IV/Cyclonic IV How I did this I don't know, but I got very lucky I'll say that much for sure. Did this late Sunday night and the first one I told was Ernie right after I got it done. I wasn't going to post it because I pretty much did it for me, but he encouraged me and said I should post it somewhere so I am. I know this wasn't the best kit, I know the time sucks as well, but there it is I guess. It's my first one and I told him I'm not doing another one, this will probably be my last. After I was done I was a nervous wreck and had a bad headache. Took way too long but I didn't quit and kept going since I was still alive and kept finishing waves. Basically I did a lot of running around...LOL Running for my life most of the time. Wave 3 I got a hack...it was right by extraction in the bunker where I was standing by. Got most of it done before they showed up and did a circle around the map and finished it off. Wave 6 I got pizzas. 1st one was down on the lower end, ran after it and brought it up the ladder through the bunker and finished it. The 2nd one was in the control room, I ran to it and brought it back pretty much the same way. Made it to Wave 10 and got devices. Up to that point I was lucky, now I was pretty aggravated when that came up. But I got pretty lucky with those as well. 1st one was in the bunker...right beside me. Finished it quick and ran to the 2nd one which was down on the lower end. Got it done and the 3rd was in the control room. Got it done quick and just in time when they showed up.4th one was right in the middle of the map....no way I could do that one in a hurry. Ended up kiting them around the map and running back real fast to finish it off. Very lucky with these...very. Managed to finish off the wave as well. Wave 11....I was dead for sure I thought. Was in the control room where I finished off the last of them. Right where I wanted to be. I held them off the best I could but almost got surrounded again. At this point I started using missiles to clear a path and made a run for extraction. Had to use my remaining missiles in the extraction zone to stay alive, which somehow I did! Hid beside the bunker doorway and hoped for the best and I made it. I was so glad...LOL. So there it is...and it was nerve wracking for me. Like I said I'll probably not do another one. It was not fun for me at all. I'll stick to team play from now on! I drank several beers after that run. Just wanted to prove to myself I could do it, so I got that one out of my system. Even after all that, a little bit later I played some good games with other BSNers and had a lot more fun!

That's incredible achievement, you can be proud of yourself. Also I admire your strength, I couldn't stand that Banshee scream in every wave for 2 hours ugh... that's why I did mine plat solo versus Cerberus. So now platinum match with whole team should be a peace of cake for you haha. Low: I'm afraid your post is off topic. Sorry. It's called a Daily Fail and you didn't fail

Kishock Bat sent worst times are 35 and 41 min, and 4 times are above 20 min for the batguard, Flamer soldier might be more competitive Good info, thank you. I guess I'll start screenshotting everything and check later.

U could replace a screenshot of the one i cited, but they are videos IIRC

High: My congratulations mate! Sorry. It's called a Daily Fail and you didn't fail I don't know about Platinum matches being easy now....I still plan on being a scrub. It's also not totally off topic, I did "Fail" four other times before that so it still counts.

CONGRATULATIONS! Good job finishing strong with devices! Go post in the PHOF and Yummy's thread! Spread the news!
