I see a lot of "I suck", "I am a scrub" etc. going on in this thread because of failed solo attempts.

Let me make this clear:
- you DO NOT suck for failing a solo attempt the first, the second or the third time; ask most of the solo specialists here (muahmuah, patrickbateman, @thetechnoturian etc) how many failed attempts it took them to be at that level, you might be surprised;
 
- IMO, soloing is a totally different beast than playing with a team; you can be an excellent team player and not be able to finish a silver solo or, and I give you my example here from 4-5 months ago, you can regularly finish all your silver or gold solos without a problem and be a liability in a team game; it takes TIME to learn the tropes of both types of playing;

- soloing platinum is a different category in itself in terms of solo playing, as it's totally unforgiving; I don't know if you play chess, it's like winning through a positional (or strategic) game, as opposed to a tactical game - it takes planning for the weaknesses of the other side, exploiting them and finishing through a harrowing end game with one pawn plus.

Your case in point: 10W in 55min against Trollectors is a good time, as they are one of the most difficult factions to do objectives against (devices for instance are a nightmare if not an infiltrator).

So to you and all the others: stop beating yourself up and try again; patience is the keyword.

 
 

I can't say for TTT or Bateman,but i can say for me and i finished my first platinum solo from perhaps 15-20 attempt.I used (yes i was like a clueless pug) AUI+cheesgar.I was very happy about that,but then i saw one of the Clusum's videos and i found that i am derp.So i started to watch the videos of Clusum's TTT or TNS and i tried to do the same things.

I've repressed all memories of how many times it took me to get my first platinum solo in order to maintain my fragile grip on sanity

Nice work OP. A platinum solo is a great achievement only a very small fraction of the player base can ever achieve.

I'd rather have a 100 min completed solo than a 32 min failed one. Sadly I don't have the patience to exceed 40 mins on a solo, which is probably the reason I'm 0/5 on attempts. I do feel like my next attempt is going to be the one however ..

Nice job. Now do it with a volus. The easiest platinum solo I did was the VolSent with a Reegar against the geth. Well technically the easiest was the drell infiltrator.

Ha ha, no, my computer probably would have melted if I tried to record that beast. I think 22 seconds took like 5 minutes to upload, so 101 minutes and change would have taken over a day!

Yes, everyone, please give it a shot if you haven't tried it! It was hard, but it wasn't the terrible, impossible thing I thought it was. I'm sure everyone here could do it!
