Mass Effect Andromeda Hype thread ("Very Soon"!!)

I am not really aboard the hype train myself. I do have a wallpaper for my PC that is part of my rotation of wallpapers and I have been trying to find a decent wallpaper of the standard edition that I can use on my phone, but I am not really doing anything different yet.

Nah not hyped just mildly interested, & that won't change until we get a 100% set release date.

Game is still at least 3 months away, not wasting any hype. Last time I got really excited for a game is when I accidentally found out that Diablo 3 had been announced. Watched the 20-minute official gameplay trailer and loved it to bits.........then I had to wait 4 years for that shit.

By the time I got to play D3 for the first time (wasn't in the beta) there was no excitement whatsoever in me.

I'm just excited that 2017 is here, and that we'll get to play it this year!

So far what has been shown was not very exciting. I haven't even pre-ordered it yet which is ridiculous considering how much I like Mass Effect.

On-topic: Not really hyped. March-June 2012. Never forget. Even if you're willing to forgive, the precedent just doesn't make it a good idea.

I will say that Andromeda has some good ideas. Though what we've seen so far makes me think they won't be utilized to their fullest. It seems like the whole "we just got to a new galaxy" angle will be downplayed in favor of... more of the same B plots from the trilogy. Hopefully, this is not the case.

I am excited but not hyped if that makes sense. I am a fan of ME but not a superfan. I simply expect a good game and I am very confident that that is what I will receive. All I really look for in a game is a good story and good characters. As long as the combat style isn't too complicated I am good with it.... I am a hack and slasher type.

I think too much hype only leads to disappointment - it is hard for even the best of movies or video games to live up to the pre-release hype they sometimes get! I wonder if we have so many superlatives in our vocabulary that we create over-the-top hyped expectation and land up being overly disappointed....

Oh well I look forward to the release..... and I do hope the board doesn't go "over-board" if it turns out not to be the game of our dreams.....

I'm definitely hyped for Andromeda, and have been since the last gameplay trailer. Even if there's certain elements I'm hearing about that have me a bit worried, overall I'm really excited and want to play it yesterday. Because even my least favorite Bioware games (DA2 and ME3), which I tend to critique the most, are games I really enjoyed and had fun playing. Also, I liked Inquisition despite it's flaws, so if there's elements of it (with some improvements, hopefully) in Andromeda I'm okay with that.

Also, for every little thing that worries me (the somewhat set personality for the twins, for example), there's enough to contrast with that to get me excited anyway (more dialogue options, more dialogue period, deeper relationships both romantic and otherwise, and so on).
