Mass Effect Andromeda Hype thread ("Very Soon"!!)

I'm hyped.

Pre-ordering game, novel, art book.

Getting a poster, maybe a t-shirt.

So excited for this game.

And hey, if it fails hard like so many Debbie Downers on here believe it will, I'll have plenty of stuff for a bonfire.

I don't really get hyped about games as I used to be, When it comes to MEA I at least pay attention even if I don't digg for news. It's better than nothing.

I gotta say I don't think I've ever been this excited for a game before. I've really only gotten into gaming in the past 5 or 6 years and most of that has been catching up to games. Aka playing games that were popular a year ago or more. I've never been able to count down the days and learn as everyone else learns of things. I think this is why it's so exciting is because it's all new to me. And also because the Mass Effect series is my favorite.

I would say I'm very optimistic of the game. No game is perfect but Bioware games have always been pretty close. (At least for me) I'm definitely going to preorder MEA but I'm going to wait until closer to release.

Hah, i was like you too on my first hype-run. The first time is always amazing, but get used to potentially feeling less and less inclined to board the train as time goes on. Welcome, btw.  

On topic: I was actually really burned out by both the ME3 and DAI hype despite liking both games, so while im kinda hyped  its not as much as i could be.

The things i look forward to the most is seeing if they nail the ME1 tone and the more set personalities of the twins. My RP style is working with what information the game gives me to create an interesting character instead of creating one from scratch, so im already pretty sure that i will get more playthroughs out of Andromeda than i did from Inquisition. Still feel kinda bad for the Blank Slate lovers, but Dragon Age seems to go in that direction so both kinds of role-players can have games that cater to them- which is awesome.

Thanks! I'm trying to pace myself so I don't get burned out. However it gets tough trying not to scour the internet for info. Haha. I would say while I'm hopeful for MEA I'm almost equally realistic. For example unlike other players and posts I've seen on here and other places of "It HAS to have this or that, otherwise I won't love it". I'm more relaxed in that approach. Yes if it has certain things I would be thrilled. But if it doesn't have X, Y, or Z it won't ruin the game for me. For me the thing I love most about video games are the stories and the characters. I feel like for me personally I haven't been severely let down in these areas. At least not by Bioware. Even the Mass Effect 3 ending I liked. Not loved but liked it enough that the game or series wasn't ruined for me. I'm a little nervous about the preset personalities of the Ryder twins. But again I can work around it or maybe I'll even love it. Also I'm quite excited about the overall feel or tone of the game. The Mass Effect Trilogy was serious with moments of lightness while Mass Effect Andromeda so far feels lighter with moments of seriousness. Only worry for me in MEA is driving because I'm awful at it. Haha.

ME3 drama killed my hype for any game the way BioWare killed the original forums.

Im hyped, already planned vacation at work. but im easily amused tho. i dont need it to be perfect...

Not sure if I am hype or not.

I just preorder game for the first time.
And just buy new graphic card.
And save money to upgrade other part of my PC in March.

I pre-ordered the game, but I can't say I'm hyped. Hype comes with fun trailers and spoilers, when I can't wait to see the whole story, but they didn't show anything really interesting yet.

I'm hyped in a good way. Not too much but enough to get the nice tingling of forecoming good stuff. To be honest though, even if BioWare were to deliver their best game yet, some folks on here would criticise it and pick it apart to death. 

I think its good and sometimes necessary to be critical of media we love, but some people take that to the extreme. Makes you wonder why half the people here are even here, they seem to be so anti-BioWare.

I think they will and I think they can. I'm kind of approaching this game as like Mass Effect The Next Generation.




If my Ryder can do half as well as Picard did here they should be proud.
