I got to thinking the other day, and I was remembering Jack's romance with Shepard in the Citadel DLC. She gave him a tattoo as a means to be able to identify in the worst possible sort of situations. Now, the scene itself is short and the tattoo is never really mentioned again but it added many layers towards their relationship and made this version of Shepard slightly different from the rest. He became the only version of Shepard to have any kind tattoo on his body.
It would be awesome if the Andromeda romances has small little differences like this that make each romance subtly unique. For example, a Ryder who romances Peebee might find that their captain's cabin suddenly has an extra pillow and a weird stuffed toy. Or Ryders who romance Vetra might be gifted a necklace that can be worn with their casual outfits. Or Liam inscribing their name(surname I guess) onto his helmet(s). It would really make the romances feel alive outside of conversations.
So, what do you guys think? Yay or Nay?

It would be nice. (Zevran's ear ring, Alistair's rose, Morrigan's ring. Or if the protagonist give a gift: Hawke to Anders – Key to Your Heart, Inquisitor to Cassandra – book, Dorian – medal, Bull – dragon's teeth etc, I dont know all.)

I like the idea, it's simple, I imagine it doesn't take much resources? and it would be cool to have details like that. If they're related to something that happens in the romance scenes it would be even better, or they could maybe have a line of banter if you pick them t give them context (I guess that doesn't take much either), but even if is nothing but the object itself or the modification added to it (and you just find it in your cabin or notice it if you look up close to your Li, or whatever), I think it's a nice touch... though I'm pretty sure that if it's not explained where it comes from one way or another, I'm going to miss it completely  but it's always fun finding things that are not obvious, so now I'm thinking that I might even like better this option . |

Only if it is optional, meaning if we as a player have a say in it. To use your Jack example, you have no choice but to get that tattoo even if it doesn't fit your character.

That might be cool. One of the things I found surprisingly touching was Liara's capsule in ME3. Even when I wasn't romancing her, I thought it was sweet. It would've been cool if you could request a copy for your cabin and play it whenever.
^pro-tip: would've also been a cheap and sneaky (not in a bad way) method of recounting your choices, because choices matter yo.
But yeah, sometimes it's the little things, when done just right that make it all worth it.

Sounds like a cool idea (Bioware has even pulled off things like this in the past). I loved how in Dragon Age 2 if you romanced say... Merrill, she gets a new shiny set of white armor. And Anders gets himself some edgy black robes. And if you get seriously injured, they're shouting (for example "Hawke is hurt!") becomes more personal and desperate (a big old "NO!").
Little tidbits like that go a looonnnggg way. I'm sure Bioware gets it. They are after, the Masters of optional video game romances.

I agree that small gestures add a lot to the romances. In particular I'd like for my character to both give and receive a small but meaningful token. For example, in DAO most presents you could give your LI were generic but some were deeply personal and you could have a conversation based around it. If we could just find/buy one or two gifts like that it'd be great, and it would be even better if one were something wearable so that we'd see it with them. I also liked when they'd eventually give you a gift, like Alistair's rose.

I like the idea. I would also like to see Ryder's cabin sport a photo of the LI in all cases. It was a very handy thing to have in ME2 when doing multiple playthroughs simultaneously with different LIs since I could just go up to the cabin and confirm who the ME1 LI had been for that Shepard. I would have used even more if the photo of the ME1 LI was replaced with a photo of the ME2 LI instead of just being turned over when an ME2 LI was selected. I'm an old fart with some memory issues... so I can use all the helpful visual clues I can get to remind me of whom I'm actually supposed to be romancing during a particular playthrough.

I love this idea. The inscription of the loved one's name somewhere on your gear just had me go "awww." Like a medieval knight take his ladies's favor into the jousing tournament.
The stuffed toy, too. Pictures. Maybe if you're romancing someone who isn't a squad mate and you are spending time apart, you keep a picture of him or her with you somewhere on your person to check out now and then.
A tattoo, or anything permanent should be optional, though. What if you decide to split? Come to think of it, will you ever get the option to break up?

Yes this is along the lines of people around you or at least the environment acknowledging your romance.
If it's people, small comments and dialogue with other people would be a nice touch.
When it comes to everything else, small changes, like others have mentioned, Zevran's ring, Fenris' red scarf, etc., would be a nice touch. Personally I hope for something like they did in DA2, where your LI would move in with you, but more detailed and more impactful. They have even more leeway to do that now since Ryder and the crew are not military, so no one can b* about it not being "realistic" if your LI starts sleeping only in your cabin lol.

Abso-friggin-lutely I need this in my life. I am a sucker for romance and it really is the little things that make me gush. They devs already said that there would be more moments with your companions like shooting bottles with Garrus and that makes me so hype to get to know my crew. Especially hype to get into the pants of my crew!
I'm the kinda person that like changes the colour of my armour to match my LI's colour scheme and give them super sweet crafted weapons with special names. God I get so mushy XD
Even if we don't get little gifts and things like this I think I'd be happy with just a little more reactivity. If one of my family dies you'd better give me a damn hug you twat sitting next to me while I weep is not good enough! Looking at you Anders.
