Small Details that Enhance the Romance

It'd be interesting to see who they approve of and who they don't.

I wish Dad would be around more than just in the beginning. I'd love to have a chance to have a protagonist develop a relationship with a parent instead of them losing all the parents. I think it would be nice to have a dad who worries about his kids' happiness. And that awkward first time you bring your LI to meet Dad. Bad nerves all around.

God I love it when squaddies and NPCs chime in on your romances. Felt this was done waaaay better in Dragon Age than the ME trilogy. Wynne giving me a motherly rant, Fenris and Anders hating each other if you romanced one of them (I know they hate each other anyway but they were like AS IF SHE'D PICK YOU) and everyone walking in on you and Bull god that was the funniest thing.

I love the reactivity ESPECIALLY if your relationship is controversial in some way, or at least it's views that way by who you're talking to. In the trilogy it kinda felt like no body actually really cared. It got better the further down the line (Bite me Garrus, better yet bite her. Probably how she likes it) God Jack I love you. I would also love for your LI to acknowledge your relationship more. I'm so needy Bioware.

But seriously Bioware if I am meant to be sad in a situation can I please have my squaddies and ESPECIALLY my LI come give me a hug? I got to hug Tali when she was upset but like..... I get stressed saving the world yo D:

Did anyone ever mention inter-species awkwardness? Like, you couldn't possibly know every romantic custom of every species and your LI wouldn't probably know every human custom either. For example what if anniversary's are not something, lets say turians, celebrate. Imagine if one day you go:"You know, our anniversary is next week." and Vetra is all like:"Oh shit you celebrate that?!! Is that important to you?! I'm so sorry!"
Or who knows what the asari equivalent to marriage proposals are (if they even have one). Then you have a really heartfelt conversation with Peebee and you say:"Oh look I got you this scarf from the nexus, neat huh?." and Peebee gets all embarrassed and confused because you just gave her the equivalent of an engagement ring. [I'm assuming here that Vetra and Peebee are gonna be romanceble, because if they aren't, BW is gonna have to deal with a riot]

Something like this would obviously not work for human romances, but I think some inter-species awkwardness could really enhance relationships. It would also flesh out the aliens culture a little bit more. It wouldn't even have to be something that big like I wrote previously, just something small; I'm sure the writers could come up with something.

Any of you got an idea for something like this?

God yes! I feel like such a stalker following everyone around and making all the advances. I get that with some characters due to their personality it's a given but come oooon. I wanna be flirted with! It's a two way street, stop making me feel like they agree so I'll shut up. 

Agreed, even though people seem to always throw a fit when it's same sex character flirting with you first... 

I'd wager it's the primary reason they don't do that. A minority feel their sexuality questioned and throw a hissy fit, then the rest of us don't get nice things.

That annoyed me too. How sensitive the romance path's are in the OT. Like, my first playthrough I wound up somehow flirting with both Liara and Ashley, and all of a sudden they were pissed at me. Like, "How did I get here again?"
