I agree, those little details make a big difference. I like to see some part of the environment reflect the uniqueness of your relationship. Lots of people may stop by my cabin, but it's different for this one person... I want that reflected visually somehow.

Squaddies have been confirmed to move around the ship too. Long day finding a new home, super exhausted, look at the mini map and.....LI is in your room. Tired snuggles yes please.

In addition to gifts and environmental changes, I want my LI to try to get to know me as much as I try to get to know them. I want to be able to flesh out by background as much as I can (within the constraints of the story) so that, 1) I can get in the head of my character, and 2) So that I can feel like my LI actually cares about who I am, where I come from, and what I'm about. I think that'd enhance the romance and feel a bit more dynamic.
They did a little bit of that in DAI but I really wish we could have had more.

Aah yes it was nice when that kind of thing was taken into account. At my wedding with Cullen my chara got to recite Dalish vows and that was a super nice touch including my chara's culture in there. It was also fun that your choices got reactions as well. If you were a warrior and thought about specialising as a templar boy did cullen have some words for you, and it was nice seeing reactivity in Cullen's own history as well. Being able to ask if being a mage bothered him because of his history. I have big hopes here Bioware XD no pressure

I think it'd be neat if you got a room decoration from one of your party members. For example, let's say Vetra absolutely loves paintings. You romance her, and she gives you a copy of her favorite Turian painting, which happens to be super rare. You then get to hang it on your wall.
Or perhaps, you take a picture with your LI, so instead of just having a picture of them on your desk, it's the both of you having fun together.

Id gladly wear a Vetra symbol on my armor or have the option to put Vetra's face tattoo style on my Ryders face (If its paint and not permenent, does the codex say?). You could put an option in your quarters bathroom "Apply Vetra face tattoo? Yes/No." Same thing could happen for people that like Peebee, maybe you can get her raccoon eye shadow style

Id gladly wear a Vetra symbol on my armor or have the option to put Vetra's face tattoo style on my Ryders face (If its paint and not permenent, does the codex say?). I can't seem to track down the codex entry on the wiki, though I remember it mentioning that turian face markings represented their home colonies and have been in use since their Unification War. My guess is that they're face paint though, not tattoos. Tattoos would be seen through the skin and thus would always have color affected by the bearer's skintone. Given that a common face marking color is white, particularly on darker skinned turians, tattoos seem unlikely and wouldn't be nearly as vibrant as most of the turian markings appear to be. For instance, here's a colored tattoo on somewhat darker skin: And here's some colored face paint on dark skin: Paint is much more vibrant, given that it's on top of the skin rather than underneath it and thus, no "filter" through which to view it. There's also often a distinct texture to paint separate from the skin, even in thinner makeups (though in the case of ME, it's limited by the graphics capabilities so that's harder to distinguish) For an in-game example, compare Nihlus' face markings to James' tattoos: Even on Jack's lighter skin, her more colorful tattoos are still more subdued than paint would be: More directly on topic, little details and tokens unique to a romance are the kinds of nice touches I really like in BioWare characters, and something I think on the whole they've improved on over the years and I hope they continue in that direction. I'd love to have an LI give me a momento, and I love it when companion banter reflects on game choices, including romance. Hopefully Andromeda has more companion banter than previous ME games. They're not devoid of it, but sometimes it felt sparse when traveling through long stretches (particularly in the Mako in ME1). The crew teasing Ryderabout their LI would be awesome.

Garrus' actually do look like tattoos: See how the skin show through, and the scarring seems to go over the marks rather than the marks going around them? But then other turians have faces that obviously look painted, where there's even a gloss to it: Unless... they paint their faces with something semi-permanent and re-apply it to keep it shiny? But Garrus 'not a very good turian' Vakarian hasn't bothered in a few years so his is faded? Also, as an aside, white tattoos do exist (though they're a bit hard to pull off and don't tend to stay white long - I'm sure space-faring species could improve on the tech though): Also I'm with you in hoping for DA-style banter in Mass Effect. Not just reactionary chatter to stuff we encounter, though that's cool too - I'd love for them to talk to each other more. The long Nomad rides would be a perfect opportunity for that.

Also, as an aside, white tattoos do exist (though they're a bit hard to pull off and don't tend to stay white long - I'm sure space-faring species could improve on the tech though): Not sure I agree; it is missing the gloss, but his markings don't look like they're through his skin to me. Garrus' skin is roughly this color: and his face markings are about this color: While that color is less vibrant, it's not really desaturated enough to the point someone with that kind of metallic skin would likely have as a tattoo; a tattoo with a similar blue would be closer to this shade with Garrus' skintone: Not to mention turian skin is very tough and while I'm sure it's not impossible to tattoo, it's probably fairly difficult. That's not to say they're absolutely not tattoos - just highly unlikely in my experience with lighting, texture, etc. Out of all the turian markings, Garrus' does look the most like a tattoo. And I know about white tattoos. However, you'll note that the examples you have are on lighter skin. With darker skin, it's very, very difficult for lighter colors to be visible unless we're getting into "invisible" tattoos that appear under black lighting and whatnot. There's a reason why black and dark blue/green tattoos are more common on darker skin - they're easier to see. Many of the turians we've seen are darker in skintone with very, very bright white markings. Even if the tattoos were white ink, there's no way they'd be that saturated. Even on lighter skin, those white tattoos aren't as white as the turian face paint - they're still dilluted by the skin. Mind, white tattoos on darker skin aren't impossible either; they can even still be quite bright! Here's an example: That's a particularly bright white ink example, but if you sample the actual color of the ink, it's about this shade: Nilus' markings are about this shade: While neither is a perfect white, Nihlus' comes from an image with a fair amount of red ambient lighting, and it's still far, far too vibrant to be a shade showing through black skin. It's also possible turian markings are more like henna tattoos, which are dyes and behave differently than traditional permanent tattoos inked in. They also tend to be very bright even on darker skin: I've never seen henna that wasn't orange-red or white though, so hard to gauge if the red and blue markings we've seen could be that. Exactly! I hope it's not a case like with DAI where getting on a mount disabled banter. Not sure if vehicle mechanics have the same issues a mount system would, but random banters and character commentary on current events while exploring would add a LOT to the immersion for me and help stave off any grinding feeling from collecting for extended periods of exploring.

I dunno I think in some cases they were tattoos. When Garrus gets half his face blown off you can still see his markings on his burnt flesh and I doubt he cares so much to daintily paint the one piece of not scar tissue on that side of his face. Always kinda imagined that the male turians get theirs tattoo'd and the ladies use paint, and change their paint when they "marry" someone. It's a nice head canon

I haven't seen enough evidence to convince me any of them were tattoos due to the aforementioned reasons, but we'll never know for certain without a word of god type deal from BioWare. Headcanons are handy for situations like this. EDIT: I managed to track down the original codex that mentions the face markings in ME1. It's the Turians: Unification War codex you get from acquiring any 1 of the 12 turian insignias. It's... unsurprisingly vague. Here it is though, just for posterity:

I would love to have the ability to take my Ryder's friends and love interests out on the town like in Citadel. I think it would be very cute if you stumble upon a really cool night life attraction during or after the mission and you had the option to invite a crew-mate out with you. I was disappointed that in ME1, Ashley said that she was celebrating "Armistice Day" and invites you along, but no scene really happens with Shepard and her relaxing and laughing. I feel having a ton more of those "real moments" really make the game all the more enjoyable. Dr. Chawkwas drinking with Shepard was always a treat.
Going out to bars and shopping would also be a cool way to catch up with your sibling during the game too! Maybe while they're recovering you find them trinkets and you have the option to choose a back story as to why your protagonist picked that for their sibling.
One of the big "little things" in terms of romance (and squad interactions) in general is to have the squad have lives outside of Ryder. I would love to help get two squad mates into dating one another or two crewmates becoming good friends and maybe you walk into their office finding them interacting a lot as the story progresses. Maybe even having some of the crew be encountered outside of the Tempest in hubs during missions they're not going on getting fresh air and shopping.
It would be a lot of hard work, but I feel like the extra things like this would help make those who miss Tali, Miranda, Garrus, etc. ease into the new characters.

Ok but like I recall a dev mentioning that potentially some characters can get jealous? Or something like that. Is anyone going to try and create a love triangle to see what happens? Because I read a lot of romance and like Now I'm imaging two characters that want Ryder so bad. They confront him/her and tell them choose. Ryder then tells them to duel over him or something. Am I going crazy in my old age or do I remember in ME1 if you tried to romance kaidan and Liara at the same time you got an option to go "WHY NOT BOTH?" when they asked. And like. They both dumped you? XD

I'll give it to anyone who asks as long as we've actually talked a bit first.

I wouldn't do make the LIs compete for you, but the option would be interesting.

Yeah I totally agree. Just doing something with your LI outside the Tempest (and outside of missions) could really enhance character interactions and romances. Just going out on a date having a fancy dinner, going shopping or just spending some time together in a park would be awesome. And I think this counts for the rest of your squad as well. Ideally they'll become your friends, and I don't know about you but I'd like to have some fun with my friends outside of a (very) fancy tin can every now and then.

One thing me might not get because of the story, but I really want to see is Overprotective Dad™. I somehow doubt that any serious romances (not counting more "casual" flings) will get to a point where such a reaction from DadRyder would fit before we become the Pathfinder (and something is gonna happen to him, otherwise the title wouldn't be passed down to us). I think it would be pretty funny to see our Love Interest feeling really awkward while our dad is giving the "What are your intentions with my daughter/son" speech. It would be pretty unlikely but I would still really like to see something like that.
[Edit] Maybe our sibling could take that role, well just have to wait and see.

Dad was part of the team that first met the Turians. Can you imagine his face when he finds out you're with Vetra? I wonder if he has any bad feelings towards Turians or if he's a progressive kind of guy? I also want my sibling to partake in some good natured ribbing ahah.
