I sincerely hope the attempted courtship is a two way street, with not just the main character making all the moves. Would be nice if say.. Veetra initiated the flirting for example and Ryder is caught flatfooted God yes! I feel like such a stalker following everyone around and making all the advances. I get that with some characters due to their personality it's a given but come oooon. I wanna be flirted with! It's a two way street, stop making me feel like they agree so I'll shut up. To intertwine two ideas, I'm totally with you on the NPC advancing the ball once in awhile instead of leaving it all on the player, _and_ I also agree with how annoying it is in ME1 when you can't get Ashley and Kaiden to back off without being super rude. There should be a few characters who initiate and some polite dialog to graciously decline. Just to keep agreeing with people cuz apparently that's my thing tonight, I also really appreciate the reactivity that you see more often in DA series. It seems weird when you are on this small confined ship for a long extended time hanging out with the same people all the time, and you are _Clearly_ in a relationship with one of them but nobody ever says anything about it. That's the most oddly professional workplace (that is otherwise often not at all professional, mind you) that I've ever seen. I think the things that make each character and each relationship unique are great, but if I were forced to choose, I'd almost rather go with the reactivity from others. Then you don't feel like your relationship is some super-secret thing or exists only in a tiny bubble in the LI's quarters during downtime.

I'm going a hazard a guess that this is true only while on mission. When back at the Nexus/Ark/home, SAM stops having the direct feed. I mean, anything is possible, but it seems less likely.

Well, Solas took more than he gave, hell, he escaped with my heart and my arm, I don't want another romance like that! Don't feel bad, you got to crush his ball after all.

If you had a LI who isn't a squadmate maybe you could get the opportunity to learn a little about their field of expertise. If Sarah or Scott was romancing a human scientist or a human engineer maybe you could learn more minor details about the stasis or even details about the Nomad ND1. I don't need the information to be groundbreaking but it would be nice to teach your LI and learn from them as well.

I like what I saw in the trailer with Scott and Cora. As they prepare to leave the ship, he puts his arm around her. It shows a closeness shared between them. Things like that would be a nice touch to romances. Like having your LI and you have a bit of a different physical interaction in normal scenes.

I got to thinking the other day, and I was remembering Jack's romance with Shepard in the Citadel DLC. She gave him a tattoo as a means to be able to identify in the worst possible sort of situations. Now, the scene itself is short and the tattoo is never really mentioned again but it added many layers towards their relationship and made this version of Shepard slightly different from the rest. He became the only version of Shepard to have any kind tattoo on his body. It would be awesome if the Andromeda romances has small little differences like this that make each romance subtly unique. For example, a Ryder who romances Peebee might find that their captain's cabin suddenly has an extra pillow and a weird stuffed toy. Or Ryders who romance Vetra might be gifted a necklace that can be worn with their casual outfits. Or Liam inscribing their name(surname I guess) onto his helmet(s). It would really make the romances feel alive outside of conversations. So, what do you guys think? Yay or Nay? Not only that, some little touches (bumping into you or swatting you on the ass, putting a hand on your shoulder, hugging you or giving you a quick kiss if you pass them etc. or something) in passing might be nice (if companions do move about on the ship...which they IMHO should, to make them look/feel more alive etc.) greetings LAX

Different animations for cutscenes (romanced/non-romanced) sound pretty sweet.
Had a thought: maybe a side mission or two that focuses solely on the LI? Maybe the Pathfinder having to deal with some emotional baggage (e.g. Cora having a sit-down with Scott to tell him things about her past that she kept hidden from him till then, or maybe Sara, based on her background, confides in her LI about her insecurities?)
Just a random thought. If I'm wrong, feed me to the thresher maws.

I'd like it if towards the end of the game you and your LI basically spend the time sat on the sofa on their phones ignoring each other, apart from the occasional passive aggressive snipe about some minor thing, like not hanging out the washing.
Let's go for some realism here.

I'm probably going to the simplistic side of things here honestly. I like the idea of simple hand holding in cut scenes with your li. Not constantly mind you, but little touches here and there go a long way in my mind.

Just a random thought. If I'm wrong, feed me to the thresher maws. Delurking to agree. I thought the tiny difference in the way Garrus shakes your hand when you meet in ME3 was awesome. (There WAS a difference, right? It's been a while since I played non-Garrus-romance ME3, or ME3 in general, but I feel like there was a discussion that he only covers your hand with his when you're in a romance?) It's a stupid little thing that connects the conversational bits to the "main" game... at least for me, they're always a bit separated in my head because I know the companion/LI conversations are going to change between runs depending on my choices, but the main plot is basically the same. Little touches outside of the romance itself really make it feel more like one whole story, plus... yay for unique bits between playthroughs. Far as unique missions go, this isn't actually a quest and it's not romance specific, but I loved in Fallout 4 when... (do we need spoiler tags for oldish games? Including anyway...) when you go back to the vault where your former spouse's body is, the companion with you has a little quip. It's a single line of nothing, really, but I LOVE tiny "emotional" touches like that. The LI just has to go, "Hey so that sucked, you okay?" once or twice and for me at least it really makes a difference.

Not to burst your bubble guys, but I am pretty sure no character will initiate the flirting in a bioware game ever again. The reason being peoples strong reaction to Anders flirting with you in DA2, where a lot of straight guys got really disturbed by how forward he was. That's why noone really flirts at you in DAI until you have initiated something (even Dorian doesn't unless you initiate it). That being said, a lot of the flirt option in DAI seemed more natural, they were more in the lines of concern or intrest than with direct pick up lines. I do think they put a lot og effort into the romances, and with the several fliroptions, there might be more romance dialogue than ever before. But I am all for the personalized bits. I loved in DA2, when Anders or Merill moved in you could find something or some comment that was related to them, and when they actually stayed in your house, when you romanced them. I loved the fact that I could come home to them. It was also nice in DAO and DAI that you could kiss your romance when you wanted (except Solas, "You cheated me Bioware! I wanted Solas smooches!"

Consider my bubble burst I realise there was a lot of backlash in DA2 with characters being more... aggressive? in their approach to romances. Honestly I feel like that was specifically just Anders and it seemed to mostly only upset male gamers? No one really batted an eye when Isabella was more flirty. I suppose that goes with the different expectations of what is "acceptable" for certain genders. I feel like Bioware have learned from this but I do think we will see more forward LI's in the future and hopefully in MEA. They have a lot of experience and everything is supposed to be more nuanced this time around. Whoever is was up there that mentioned confessing insecurities to LI's I would love that so much! Things like that that show the level of trust you have with someone else and hopefully them being able to realise what a big deal it is. Even if it's just in a friendship setting I felt Aveline in DA2 was far more sympathetic to me when my Mum died than Anders was when I romanced him. Lets get a little soppy ;D I love some fluff

I'm in support of some sort of item to symbolize you are in a relationship. We know there isn't marriage in the game, but something along the lines of that with a spin on it for each LI would be an interesting idea.

I'd enjoy something like in Leviathan, where your partner gets all nervous when you get in the mech to go underwater and talk about how scared you made them after you resurface. I always thought that was really cute.

Your LI must have been a squadmate. Mine was Miranda and I don't remember having any contact with her during that DLC... Yeah, it's only with the squadmates. Here's a video for Tali's romance I'm so jealous! BioWare. I demand you do a remaster of ME3 and include Miranda as a companion!!! Who would say "no" to this face???
