It's hard times at BioWare, and there's only room in the budget for the remodelling of 4 old species models (that Shep actually had in her/his squad, so Volus etc don't count). So if you were the BioWare God of All Things who would you drop? I'm going with quarians, geth and drell. Quarians and geth have had their time in the sun so I can happily walk away, and drell have always been a big pile of meh for me. Oh and p.s. Hoomins are special, so obviously they'll be there.

Asari are just humans with tentacles head. Geth get destroyed in Red. I can't choose another, they are all equally interesting to me.

None. I would walk away. The God of all Things at Bioware, that should mean I have total control over the budget. I will not risk further alienating my fan base.

#1 Asorry. Good riddance. #2 Geth. Machines. We can always build new, better machines. #3 Drell. Those flashbacks are annoying and they'd probably croak anyway.

But is it viable to introduce new species, without cutting old ones? The great thing about Andromeda is that it's a blank slate. You don't know this galaxy at all. So why not? Edit: Which species do I think will be axed, despite the possible backlash? Quarian (though they have the best potential to live in spaceships), Geth (because they're machines and despite not knowing if they did not launch already an Ark of their own) and Drell (because they already killed themselves once). And that because all the other are too popular to be left out.

I picked Quarian (weird voices, can't see face,) Geth, (weird voices, a vacuum for a face,) and Asari (Tired of these blue ladies being shoved down our throats.) Can't live without Turians. Rowr.

Forget them.", but they are right after humans in the line after all.

It hurts, but I take out Geth and Drell I can't decide with the third one. We already know Krogans, Asari and even Salarians will travel with us, so no point in choosing any of them. Turians are a dealbreaker for me. Quarians have too much potential to be cast aside. Edit: Honestly? I will take out Volus, Elcors, Hanar, Vorcha and Varren first, in order to introduce (and hopefully develop better) new species with similar roles as them. I would maintain principal Council species (Asari, Salarians, Turians) + species we had in our squad (Krogans, Quarians) with the exception of Drells and Batarians: I would take out Geth because it has no sense they come with us. Other thing will be if they go to Andromeda in a paralel journey, imitating ours. I love Batarians and Drells, but sadly, they are very few of them. Batarians are not Council members and their government is considered rogue. So, I don't see how they can go too. Maybe because individually they are interested? On the other hand, I don't see how Drells can go to Andromeda without Hanars going too. They are their bodyguards. So, I would sacrifice Drells if there are not a very good excuse to bring them too.

Turian, Geth and Drell get my vote.
Geth and Drell add no value to the game or story. Plus, Bio replaced the Turians with the Krogans. I mean, did anyone see if any calibrations were needed?

Geth & Drell without hesitation.
Really sucked clicking Quarians. But their thing was always, Synth/Organic war and that's over with.

Since I don't like Asari (except for Aria and Samara) they would be the first I axe. Other than that while I don't have anything against them my other choises would be Drell and Quarian.

These are not even in question. You have to butcher non-joke races. Varren is just an animal though, it doesn't take much lore-space.

Well it seems like you already cut out a good chunk of species in the poll OP. I didn't vote because I honestly see every race up there as contributing (or should have contributed) to the Ark. First off, geth and quarians are probably the ones you want most on there. Quarians are used to living with what they can find, living in cramped ships and making it work and salvaging the fuck out of everything and repairing it. And the geth are AIs which means they can run your ship while you're in hibernation and run it better even otherwise than most organics. Next up, the asari would probably contribute the most economically, as well as being excellent at diplomacy, mediation and first contact because of their weird omniattractiveness thing. I know some people hate that but it's a fact, and the colonists need every advantage they can get. Not to mention that asari stand the best chance of colonizing anyway since you only need one to keep the species going. Turians are important because of their military background. They'd make good officers and maintain discipline. Salarians would seem to be outdone by geth/quarians as far as tech goes but I think their niche would be more in the medical/biological research area. Clearly they can do crazy things with genetics. Just keep them away from the krogan. Krogan are muscle. They're actually less of a priority if you already have the geth, but if you're really expecting trouble, having a bunch of krogan will help immensely. Drell are realistically the only ones on that list you can stand to lose and not suffer for it in critical areas. They're proven to be delicate organisms (or incapable of adapting if you want to be harsher) and their previous history of needing to be saved by the Hanar is not good precedent for a trip where you a) have to rely on just yourselves and have very limited resources. Any species not mentioned (batarians, hanar, elcor, volus) etc. are expendable for the same reasons.

I wanted to make it a tough choice so kept it within the squadmate races.

Geth, Quarian and Krogan for me.
All 3 had their arcs completed story-wise. No need to dip into those wells again.
