Titanfall 2 is selling poorly because someone (who is probably kicking him/herself ATM) at EA thought it would be a good idea to launch two of its FPS's ( three if you count Activision's CoD:ID which was released last week) just weeks apart. Also, the franchises it's competing with have a larger fanbase and bigger, better established MP communities. An absolutely stellar move there, EA! Foot, meet shotgun. If the TF2 fiasco teaches EA anything, it should be NOT TO release ME:A at the same time with any other upcoming sci-fi space opera RPGs... which there seems to be a whole of zero in the ME:A's probable launch window (if I'm not mistaken) - unless, of course, EA is currently developing another such game to release alongside ME:A (which would be Darwing Award levels of idiocy), or they will push ME:A back enough to compete with Cyberpunk 2077, which I don't see happening (like, at all). I really, really doubt that ME:A is going to be significantly delayed again, unless something absolutely disastrous comes up during cert.

Ok this may seem weird or just me for being out of the know for a long time. Why is everyone so sure this is the release date when it has yet to be confirmed?

An employee saw that the Art of ME Andromeda was listed as being released on that date, and everyone figures that means ME Andromeda will release on that day.
Someone will post with more details.

Amazon/Dark Horse accidentally revealed that The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda will come out at the same time as the game, and The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda comes out in March 21 2017.
“Dark Horse will release The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda simultaneously with the game!”
It was later removed.

Right now it is because when Dark Horse was announcing the release date of the Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda they said that it would be released at the same time as the game, so they officially announced the artbook and gave a strong wording that is the same date as the game. Another reason is that EA has said during investors call that it would be released between the start January 2017 and end of March 2017 to fit in the Q4 fiscal quarter. People are also figuring that March is a good month to choose since both Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 were released in March as well. Due to that information and guesswork people are strongly believing that that is the release date or very close to.

I was questioning due to that interview with Mr. Mac Walters. That 101 questions or so when asked about release date he said Spring'ISH (though it was probably ment more as comic relief than anything but got me thinking). Also correct me if I am wrong but I thought Mass Effect 2 was released in January 2010. Also don't art work books and what not usually get released after the game? Like it did with ME2?

Ok. Guess that could confirm it.
Unless Bioware throws another curveball and due to the release leaks decides to releases everything early. One thing about Bioware they are extremely persistent in that all their games have been released on a Tuesday. Personally the mathematic side of me was hoping for a date similar to ME3 release (3-6-12) like for ME:A maybe 1-17-17 but what no matter this subject is answered. Is there a way to lock or close?

It's an old hold over (sorta). Games where going out with music CD's, due to supply lines they all arrived at the same time each week. Your local GameStop or Bestbuy gets supplied, usually, from there parent warehouse. That warehouse is getting supplied directly from whatever is sending it stuff. This was back when it was mostly just a 'released when they got it'. That's the short and dirty version that's semi-wrong lol. As for now and days it's mostly tradition cause it's 'how its done'. They found having an actual release date, something for people to look forward to vastly improved sales. Same thing over in Europe, minus the type of infrastructure as the US (multiple countrys blah blah). So they eventually decided to hold onto games till friday (small chain of stores did on their own) for sales reason instead of releasing whenever they got it. Theres better explained articles out there about it then anything I'll be able to retell.

Yeah, well, the short of it is truck supply lines (how shit gets places) in the US are all very specifically timed and shit arrives on mondays (I think it's mondays). So new stuff got sold on Tuesdays. Which lead everyone to gravitating towards Tuesdays and now it's always Tuesdays. ...Except for when it isn't, then it's not a Tuesday. But it's usually Tuesday.

My usual link for release date questions actually goes into more detail on why the UK does friday, but also has a bit about tuesday being used in the US: www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-11-23-why-are-we-stuck-with-games-being-released-on-a-friday

Dragon Age Inquisition was delayed by 6 weeks, around 100 days pre-launch.
I'd assume that March 21 is BioWare's planned launch date, but for project management, marketing (and perhaps revenue recognition reasons) they don't want to confirm it until they are a little closer to launch.
I'd also assume that the date will get set within the next 6 weeks or so and will be March 21st or drop into April or May, but no later.

March 20 is the first day of spring. The date was probably a placeholder since Bioware have been indicating that the game will be out in Spring 2017. In a recent interview, Mac Walter actually said "springish" - which, IMO, could mean it will come out before March 20 (when it's technically still winter) or after March by a bit... more towards summer.

I agree with your points, but with how the internet reacts to delays could now be a factor as well for look at what happens when a game is rumored to be pushed back a few weeks. People who report that games have been delayed are now sent death threats. As much as it saddens me I think some steps publishers take to keep information from being released has to deal with how people react to what is being said for the internet has a tendency to take any information twist it into a negative and then yell about that negative for weeks if not months.

On top of all that, March is both the last month in EA's last fiscal quarter and the first of spring. It is also rather convenient, in that the game would release close to the fifth anniversary of ME3's publication.
It's amusing to think that, as close as it sounds, release is still a third of a year away.
