Countdown: Launch minus N1 day (and 70 Trailers) thread

I wonder if they are going to give early copies to reviewers and let the reviews be published before the game's release? DAI did and I always like when that happens because I see it as a show of confidence by the developers.

Which makes me believe that won't happen with MEA.

You're very negative when it comes to this game.  I've noticed lurking all this time.  Everything I've seen, I've been excited about.  I'm glad they are taking this approach with releasing information.  I don't want to know everything before I get the game.  I felt like that prior to getting DAI, which is my own fault.  I'm sure they will release a crapton of info in the next couple of months.  Of course not everyone is going to be happy & they can't give everyone what they want.

i want this game so bad

i played the first game as soon as it came out, and i was involved right away, ) i miss Vigil .  completed it more than 10 times then i waited for the second, loved it, completed it more than 20 times with all dlc's, one of the best games ever made, then played the third, the first half was ok, then it was just an insult, played multiplayer until last year

we still have to wait to months to go to andromeda :s

anyway i'll preorder the super deluxe edition next month

Interesting looking back 10 years at the promotional material for Mass Effect.

The Ashely (Cora) in a helmet technique was being used even then.

I'm not sure when I first heard about ME but it had to be pretty early considering it was the GI article introducing the game way back in the day. And, this is one of my favorite stories to tell because it did not impress me in the least. It sounded like a B5 rip off, it sounded like a Lord of the Rings rip off, I mean I didn't mind stories borrowing from each other, even back then... a lot less so now....but that was a storyline where it was done to death. Plus it was a BioWare game and I think I was aware they had done KOTOR which also did not look impressive to me...And it was coming to Xbox and I have always been a Sony man... so I was not interested.

Well over the years I saw gameplay vids here and there, heard my friends rant and rave about the game, and watched a couple of play throughs, and decided I liked what I saw. Then the game came out for the PS 3 (thank you EA ) and I leapt on the chance to buy it like a tiger on an anetelope or some other geographically appropriate animal. I had a little birthday money so I bought ME 2 and the original Modern Warfare game. And well, it helped get me back to gaming and I had quite an enjoyable experience.

The first Shepard I rolled was an Adept Shepard. And for some reason I did not appropriately load up the commic so I did not have the appropriate choices to load into the game. Which made it feel disjointed, and I really did not enjoy playing as an Adept. So I resolved to do it right, load up the choices I could via the comic, and then did some research changing my Shepard's class to a Vanguard. Much more enjoyable experience but the Vanguard was only... so so...on the third try my Soldier Abigail Shepard (whose adventures you can follow in the 'what did you do today' thread) I was quite hooked. It rekindled my interest in gaming, writing, kindled my interests in RPGs, showed me that video games could be as good as books or tv when it comes to writing quality, introduced me to BioWare which is responsible for a lot of fun, my two favorite video game franchises, and it just had a really profound impact on my life. I think at the end of my current playthrough I will have put in about 30 playthroughs in the 3 ME games overall.

My assessment are fair and moderate and are based on hard evidence.

And I don't think MEA will fail, my feeling however is that it will be Inquisition's level of quality at the most. That is far from terrible, but it's below ME1 and ME3, let alone ME2.

I don't see it as negative attitude, but the appropriate reaction to what we'ven seen (and especially what we have not seen) so far. Believe me when I say I hope I'm wrong and that Andromeda delivers, but I can't rationally think that is very likely to happen. Mind you, I think the chances of it being great are bigger than the opposite, but I hoped for more than just great.

Maybe that's the reason I'm seen as negative? I wanted Andromeda to be ME2 level of greatness, and  nowI calculate the chances  of that happening are 2,66% (positive version). 

I actually played the Mass Effect series last year, so you could say I'm a new fan!

I've played the Dragon Age series for a while now, and I had ME1 and 2 in my steam since like, 2014-2015, but hadn't touched it yet.

I actually heard about Mass Effect when there was that whole drama about "lesbian sex with aliens" wow, what?! Jk, didn't really pay attention back then, it was in a random game magazine in my country. Now I know what that was about, but anyways news channels can be really lame lmao.

I also heard about it again when there was the ME3 ending drama.

Now I'm obsessed with Mass Effect, I like it way more than Dragon Age, when I finished 1 and 2 I bought 3 right away, can't believe I didn't try it before. However, in a way I feel lucky cause I have to wait for Andromeda for much less time than I would if I played the trilogy while it was being released.

Now I'm here for that Andromeda hype and will probably be a fan forever, same as I am with the Persona series for about 10 years now

Aren't you a conspiracy theorist? There's no evidence or whatsoever that there won't be early reviews copies for Andromeda, this ain't Bethesda. You're so desperate to hate anything we're given that when there's nothing to whine about, you post ridiculous shit like that. Get a grip.

First time I heard about Mass Effect was a bit after its release I think. Never heard of Bioware games before but my boyfriend at that time played Dragon Age Origins. I peeped over his shoulder and got interested in the game because of the dialogue system which was fairly new to me & the middle age fantasy setting.

Until that day my view on RPGs was defined through JRPGs (didn't even know the term at that time) like Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Tales of - Series, Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy, Star Ocean,.hack and - the only western Rpg I played - the wonderful Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines (& -on a lower lvl- Mmorpgs).

I asked myself a lot why western game coporations didn't lay their hands on storydriven Rpgs. And then my boyfriend told me that this "little" company was quite well known for their wonderful story telling, intruiging character writing and world building. I really thought he made fun of me. So I started to play Dragon Age Origins. I was completely astonished afterwards. At my birthday I got Mass Effect as a present. And I loved it. Especially because it was SciFi - I LOVE SciFi-, but I loved the characters, the story and my Shepard as well (because I could use character customization and decide different things a lot - something you didn't find that much in most games).

After that I bought Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 and Jade Empire and the games were so amazing After that I bought every other Mass Effect & Dragon Age game. To this day Mass Effect is still my favourite series and I hope that it will be in the future as well *fingers crossed that ME:A will run on my PC*
