It's good to reminisce now and again. KotOR was my first hit from Bioware. Read about Mass Effect in a GI issue and it caught my interest. Bought it soon after launch and loved it.
Here's to a swift countdown!

Launch minus N65 days to 3.21 Mass Effect Andromeda. (Counting down 70 trailers of Mass Effect)
Mass Effect Cinematic Trailer "Distress Call" November 20th 2007
"Normandy, do you copy, we're under attack!..."
The interesting thing about this cinematic trailer is that it picks up on some design features abandoned by the time the game launched, such as Ashley's helmet visor, which was seen in earlier demos, and includes an odd reference to a choice between Noveria and Caleston which didn't end up in the game. One might conclude that this cinematic had been worked on for some time.

Comparing ME1 with ME:A gives us the real feeling of how technology went onward since then, but ME1 will always be special for us all

It's a shame something like that was cut - the decision at Virmire really gave the game some bite. I hated it but it was a good story-telling point. I wouldn't have minded another really tough choice. I would've hated it but it would have given the game more depth.

Mass Effect 2 Teaser February 24th 2009
"Commander Shepard, SSV Normandy > Killed in action..."
The first Mass Effect 2 teaser and the start of the 'Shepard's dead' troll, which would run until the second trailer three months later. Do you remember this one?
Here's an interview with Ray and Greg, at the time:

I'm glad he turned out to be an ally rather than an enemy though. Still sad to see him die in ME3 in the reaper base mission to save his fellow geth did that mission again last night in fact. You're a good friend Legion.

Killing him off would be a good way to start a new game off, good excuse to build another character up."
"Wut WUUUT!? I jost worked my ass off for THIS?!"
"And I'm not surprised at all they're killing off Shepherd. Pretty lame way out though."

That was until we saw trailers that had Shepard revived.

I wonder how long do we have to wait for another flow of fresh info on ME:A ? On Twitter they often just praise "Oh, how we can't wait to show you/tell you more in a near future". Yeah, "near future", something tells me its another waiting for the end of the month to learn something substancially new on ME:A. I mean it is really getting close, its ~2 months left to release only!

Well, supposedly soon will be IGN's month of MEA coverage which is going from late January to early February so that may be what they are referring to.

Even for this modest little '70 trailers' countdown, because there are currently only 61 Mass Effect trailers, so far...

I just can't believe that we're this close. I'm happy if I don't get to see a bit of any more gameplay or spoilers.
If someone data mines the MP beta, I'mma gonna be pissed.

Do you remember this one? I think that's my favorite of the trailers so far. The ME1 ones were interesting because of the insight into the game's development, but I'm glad I never saw them because that last one featured stuff that never happened, and the one before revealed way too much (and made me appreciate the lack of plot info we've gotten this time around). But I'm kinda sorry I missed out on this one. I like the subtlety of it and the intentionally misleading 'reveal'. Also, Legion Very cool!

Mass Effect 2 E3 2009 Trailer - May 30th 2009
"I'm gathering specialists for a mission..."
After the teaser, the Mass Effect 2 E3 2009 Trailer (May 30th 2009) gives a terrific proper look at the game. One of my favorites. How was it for you?

That trailer still gives me a rush. Good tune and well paced. The first time I watched this when Shepard's head turned during the evac scene I almost shouted from excitement. I'm sure I gasped.

Funny story, i actually got into Bioware games during my " Edgy Teen" phase. I was always a RPG player and was looking for one when the backside of DAO caught my eye. "BIOWARES incredible DARK FANTASY game. Incredibly MATURE". Needless to say i bought it and lost several hundred hours of my life. (DA:O was also the first game where i played a female character and then never played anything else again when given the choice. ) As for Mass Effect, i always wanted to play the Fable games. Problem was im a Sony guy. So i saved up for a couple of months to buy both an Xbox and Fable 2 (Having played the original Fable for PC before). But when i got to the store they actually had a bundle available that someone apparently returned unopened. That was the ME2 bundle, and seeing that it was from this awesome Dragon Age company i had to have it. And since i hate playing games out of order i decided to buy Fable 2 a month later and get a copy of ME1 instead, you know, to tide me over til the far superior Fable. Needlessly long story short, i completely forgot about Fable until 4 months later and barely played it because Mass Effect was just too good. And during the wait for ME3 i discovered BSN prime, and now here i am. To think that my love for Mass Effect happened purely by accident is still pretty strange to think about. I guess i should write the guy who returned his bundle a thank you letter. ^ ^

Mass Effect 2 Cast reveal - December 10th 2009
"You've seen it yourself. no-one wants to admit it, but humanity is under attack..."
Today's trailer is a 'cast reveal' trailer which was shared at the end of 2009. Did you enjoy this 'behind the scenes' reveal?

Once I got them I started looking at the DA games Origins and 2 as I did like a bit of fantasy as well as my sci fi and quiet liked them too but couldn't beat them as I didn't understand the mechanics then Thankfully I got the strategy guides a couple of years ago now which I found to be very helpful in understanding them and figuring out what I need to do in order to create the characters and heroes I want. I also pretty much bought ME3 and DAI when they released. Well with DAI it was about a month after but ME3 I bought on release day and I plan to do the same with MEA.
