Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity: Before departing from Tuchanka, Melody took James and Garrus to the surface on a classified mission, a request from Primarch Victus to rescue a turian platoon that had gone dark on a sensitive undercover operation. The platoon was commanded by Victus' son Tarquin and had apparently come under attack from Reapers. Due to substantial Reaper air activity, the shuttle was forced to land some distance from the platoon's last reported location. After landing, Melody made contact with Tarquin — still alive, though most of his platoon was not so lucky, their shuttle having crashed. The squad proceeded to his location, passing the scattered bodies of the turian soldiers and engaging in occasional skirmishes with Reaper ground troops. They also shot down a number of Harvesters (kaboom!) The turians' mission had clearly been a complete failure; Garrus explained that the consequences for such an incompetent officer would likely be severe. The squad found Tarquin with the few men he had left; they were in a state of open mutiny. A bad command decision that he had made was responsible for the shuttle crash. Melody encouraged him to pull his men into line by any means necessary in order to complete their mission — defusing a colossal bomb hidden deep in a valley, and in Cerberus' hands. No deaths, this is a pretty easy mission really, there's plenty of cover and no nasty surprises. I was going to leave this one until later in the game, but my plans changed (for reasons that will become apparent in the aftermath of the Citadel coup). Also, it makes sense from a narrative point of view given that the Normandy is still in orbit around Tuchanka. Pics and video... Nice shot of the squad in the shuttle, one of the rare times when this game is sensibly lit: "Really, Alliance Navy", pay no attention to the logo on my armour..." Of course she was going to say that: Here I was, shooting down a Harvester (well, flubbing my shots, but hey), when a Husk comes along and "photobombs". Well, if you insist... Final battle. Nothing really special about this, just some low-effort sniping and a little CLAYMOAR for the Harvester. I need to change James' and Garrus' weapons, they kill things too quickly! Leave some for me Bonus video: Miriam Shepard (vanguard) took leave of her senses and went into the Armax Arena versus Reaper Super Elites armed with only starting weapons. Avenger is OP, Biower plz nerf kthx. (Good thing she had a biotic squad to back her up, eh?) Aside from some jolly scrubby shooting, and the rookie mistake when I'm concentrating on a Banshee and fail to notice the Husk sneaking up on me (I think the DoT on the Banshee was the only thing that saved me), this isn't too bad an effort. (This was originally going to be "Tempest is OP", but that's actually too easy, the Tempest is a better gun than I tend to think it is).

Javik's fate is determined by what you do at certain points. There's 3 possibilities. Spoiler tag just in case 1. If you break up the fight between Liara and him, and don't let him look at his shard, then he'll write a book with Liara. 2. If you don't break up the fight, and don't let him look at his shard, he will live as a king among the hanar (at least that's the plan ). 3. If you let him look at the shard, he will kill himself. Doesn't matter in this case if you break up the fight between him and Liara. melbella Thanks fraggle and melbella! I never realized the shard was so pivotal! It would take tremendous character and strength to look past the loses; family, friends, an entire species and loss of time, what the Reapers did to everyone. It's nigh on impossible so it's logical that that everything was tripled hammered down if he experienced the recorded memories in the memory shard. How could one live? Unless he didn't look and allowed himself to form new relationships / friends who could help him which was what happened once the Reaper War was over. Absolutely love MEHEM. Bioware never said anything about the MEHEM mods, etc. They know if they do, they'd just unleash a bigger flood of fires, axes and sickles. With their pride bruised, their halo dimmed and dented, would they want to do that? I think they did release a oblique statement that they wouldn't object to the mods since they enhanced the game experience or something but I might have mis-remembered or mistaken.

From Morlan's Famous Pawn and Broker ShopDeception Novel Cost: 1 credit Description:Deception is a military history novel written by human author William C. Dietz. Known for being littered with factual errors, undeveloped writing, and plot inconsistencies, critic reviews range from "deeply flawed" to claiming "it boldly lives up to its name." Prior the Reaper War, and in a seemingly absurd attempt by the publisher to raise soldier morale, shipments of the paperback book were sent to ships throughout the Alliance fleet. Procurement officers were initially baffled on what to do with the unwanted cargo, as they did not have the need nor the room for the literature. Although the majority of the books were dumped into space, remaining copies were still put to notable use. Ships with front-line ground troops utilized them mainly as target practice, while others used them for simpler things, such as origami, door stops, and hitting snoring bunkmates. In a slightly more official capacity, the books were used two-fold; first, as packing product when transporting ordinance and heavy munitions, and second, to simply get them off the ship. One sergeant on leave at the Citadel stated that the book gives a soldier everything he needs to keep going. When questioned about it further, he stated that, "the pages may be a bit scratchy, but it's actually strong and super absorbant." First Lieutenant Kahlee Sanders has since stepped forward with her own personal account of the events described in the novel, and plans to release the true story in the coming months.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity: There is a very good Ajax armor retex that replace Cerberus colors by the Alliance ones. It's very good and doesn't change anything else, only the colors. www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/242/?

From the Journal of Ioan Shepard:
- Mahavid: Went in search of Garneau, who was our only lead at this point as to where to find Leviathan. He was on Mahavid, a hidden mining in colony in an asteroid belt. Reaper signatures were nearby, meaning we were likely on the right path. Also saw some ground forces. We went in prepared to calm some freaked out miners. Instead...they didn't seem to notice what was happening. They were calm, emotionless, disinterested. Something was wrong. When I asked about Garneau, they claimed no knowledge of him. And then the elevator that would allow me to search for him was conveniently out of order. Had to repair the elevator first but everyone kept telling me I didn't belong and that I should go. Clear signs of indoctrination. As soon as it was fixed, I saw a log of people who had accessed it - one of them was Alex Garneau. - Found messages to miners dating back a decade but with no responses. Very peculiar. Files said Garneau was in the the med bay. Then things got seriously weird. We talked to someone was seemed to be Garneau but he claimed the Leviathan was a fake. Except we found a datapad with a message from Garneau that was never sent which said the exact opposite. He also spoke like he was indoctrinated. Garneau then broke a window with his fist - clearly impossible - and fled to the mines but cut power. Had to go outside and fight through Reaper forces to get there. - When we caught up, Garneau was next to an artifact like the one in Bryson's lab. He was holding a detonator in his hand and husks were surrounding him. He set up the detonator, killing himself and the husks, as well as destroying the artifact. Then Javik noticed a nearby body. It was Garneau, and he was in different clothing. He'd been dead for a while. We also talked to miners who seemed like they'd just awakened. They had no idea of what was going on. Worse, they all thought it was 2176. The Leviathan had taken over their minds, stealing a decade from them. They didn't even know what Reapers were. We'd hit a wall for the moment. The odd things is that these people returned to normal with the artifact gone. That's not how indoctrinated typically worked. If the Leviathan was a Reaper it was somehow doing things differently. - Citadel/Bryson's Lab: Returned here with EDI to investigate further. We did put some shielding around the artifact based on Garneau's notes. It should prevent it from controlling me. Found a message from a Dr. Ann Bryson, who was also working on the project. She had tried to contact Garneau but couldn't. Her message said Reapers forces were inbound but we first had to figure out where she was. Again, used clues in the lab to find her location. - Namakli: The sky was full of harvesters and there were husks off all type everywhere. The Reapers were serious about finding a Leviathan artifact. They obviously considered Leviathan a threat. This mission was the definition of FUBAR. Everything was going wrong. The place was falling apart, Reapers everywhere, and Ann Bryson's location was not safe. - Ann Bryson was the only survivor. We also saw a rock face drawing of a single Reaper above a bunch of humanoids worshipping it. Reapers didn't typically work alone, and they certainly didn't try to make others worship them. This was very unusual behavior. When we came upon another artifact it was surrounded by husks. That's when the Leviathan took control of Ann in an attempt to have her stop them. I held her while Kaidan and Tali took out the artifact. Then we escaped aboard the shuttle. - I told Ann what had happened to her father. She wanted to see his lab and I arranged for transportation. - Citadel/Bryson's Lab: Found Ann here. She was grieving but still wanted to help. The working theory was that the only way to track the Leviathan through the artifact would be if it was actively controlling someone. Ann was already indoctrinated and was willing to take the risk. James didn't love the idea but helped us out anyway. I didn't love it myself. We were just out of options. We dropped the shield and the Leviathan took over. It didn't like me, that was for sure. EDI got a partial lock on the signal but it left us with a few systems to search. Any longer and Ann might have died. Not something I wanted.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity: Melody took a shuttle to Tuchanka's surface with Garrus (now packing a Phaeston that he recovered from a fallen turian on the previous mission) and EDI to rendezvous with Tarquin Victus and assist with disarming the Cerberus bomb. En route, she learned from Tarquin that it was actually a turian bomb, dating from the Rebellions, powerful enough to devastate a huge area and cause massive casualties. She understood why the turians at the time had taken such action, but also why Cerberus would want to detonate it now, given her former benefactor's apparent desire to break the nascent galactic coalition. Cerberus was apparently waiting for them, greeting the shuttle with a welcoming party. The squad encountered light resistance as they proceeded through a ruined city to the bomb site, but it appeared that most of the Cerberus forces were pulling out. When Tarquin arrived at the site of the colossal bomb, he understood why: it was already armed and would take some time to disarm. Arriving at the site, the Normandy party defended Tarquin from Cerberus forces as he worked to disarm the bomb. The fighting was not difficult; Cerberus had not yet realized that their Atlas mechs are little more than easy-to-shoot big targets. Unfortunately, Tarquin discovered that Cerberus had sabotaged the detonator, making remote disarming impossible. He was forced to release the detonator manually; although successful, he fell to his death. Returning to the Normandy, Melody found an email from Adrien Victus waiting for her, thanking her for assisting and expressing his pride in what his son had done. Current EMS: 1372 (a touch higher than I expected). No deaths on this mission, despite some very derpy shooting. Pics and video... A nice shot of Melody in profile. Her nose is awesome: A moment of silence for a fallen hero: Watch as I mess up easy shots, stand around wondering where the baddies are, and fail to destroy an Atlas. You can tell from the range at which I like to use the CLAYMOAR that I had trouble with shotguns in Mass Effect 2.

From the Journal of Ioan Shepard:
- 2181 Despoina: EDI caught a trace of Leviathan's energy signature here. Kaidan, EDI and I took a shuttle down to the ocean world. Kaidan expressed some doubts about being friendly with this thing but I pointed out that anything that could - and would - kill a Reaper was something we wanted working for us. Cortez said our probe was located deep beneath the ocean. The shuttle could take the pressure. That is, until a pulse shorts out all systems on the shuttle. Cortez was able to glide in for a landing on some sort of floating wreck in the ocean. There are many other similarly stranded ships, some which have unrecognizable insignia. Of course, this is inside of the the Terminus Systems so there could be a lot of there where don't know about. - We scouted around while Cortez tried to make some repairs. Saw several of the Leviathan artifacts. Initially, I planned to leave them alone so as not to piss off the Leviathan. But then I saw dead bodies next to every single one of them and decided I'd rather not have those things force me to stay and stare to death. Especially not after Ann told me the Leviathan wanted to kill me. Then some husks, brutes, marauders and cannibals dropped in to fight. Finally, Cortez got the shuttle airborne and provided some cover fire. For about five seconds before a second pulse brought it back down. It was clear the Leviathan didn't want anyone to leave this planet. Cortez suggested that only by finding Leviathan would we be potentially able to leave the planet. In order to do that, we'd have to use an old Triton mech (like an Atlas mech but modded for deep sea exploration). I had to charge it and then go diving. Kaidan was not on board with this plan but we had no other options. - The deeper I went, the worse the communication got until I finally lost them. It was also dark like nothing I'd ever experienced. Space was nothing like this. Fortunately, I had a supply of flares to use once I hit the floor. I wasn't at the bottom but pretty damn close. There were huge jellyfish, unlike the little guys in my fish tank. I did record audio logs of what I was experiencing in the event that I didn't make it back but that somehow someone was able to retrieve the Triton mech. Probe was intact when I found it at about 3300 meters deep. Much deeper and the pressure would be too much to survive. - Then something started to rise up. It looked kind of like a Reaper, but smaller and organic. Could these things be inside of the Reapers? It didn't make sense based on the human Reaper but maybe there was more we didn't know. It wasn't happy I was there. It also said it wasn't a Reaper but something "more" and that Reapers were echoes of it. Reapers are synthetic which does imply something made them. And maybe that something made Reapers in their own image. The Leviathan race existed more than one billion years ago. The jist of it was that they enslaved other races. Some of those races were killed off by synthetics. They created a powerful AI to protect life at any cost. That AI did so by turning on the Leviathan and creating the very first Reaper - Harbinger - from their dead. They have been harvesting organic life ever since, searching for some answer to the problem of synthetics killing organics. The easy answer was to enforce peace, since they seemed that powerful. This just proves that being extraordinarily powerful doesn't stop idiocy. - It took some time but I convinced the Leviathan to help. It was now exposed to the Reapers so hiding wasn't an option. It made it clear that it wasn't fighting for us but for itself. I could see already that the Leviathan were going to be a threat we'd have to deal with should we actually win the war. They'd naturally want to reclaim their position as masters of the galaxy. The thing I really didn't like was that this thing was in my head. That meant that, like Ann, I was indoctrinated. Still, I'd rather be a puppet on occasion than slowly have my very being eroded away until it simply did what the Reapers wanted by some kind of instinct. But it said my successes were not a product of chance, implying some other force was at work helping me. I couldn't even imagine what that meant. - Once I had secured their agreement to fight, I activated the emergency thrusters. When I got to the surface I collapsed on the deck, worn out by the intrusion into my mind. Kaidan and EDI were still fighting and Cortez was in the air. That was good. Then a brute started fighting another of its kind, also turning on the husks. I was truly in awe when a Reaper came toward our shuttle and then simply crashed into the ocean. Considering the power of the Reapers, it was terrifying how powerful the Leviathan were. Kaidan told me never to do anything like that again. I guess it's a good thing I'd already gone to Omega without him because I don't think he would have liked it. In any case, this mission was an unqualified success. I heard from Ann Bryson. She was okay and joining the Crucible team. EMS: 4445.

From the Journal of Ioan Shepard:
- Rannoch: I thought we were going to fight geth. On the ride down, Legion informed me I would have to virtually interact with them in the "geth consensus". They were using technology from Project Overlord to make this happen. Worst idea ever. Worse than diving to the bottom of the ocean to meet the Leviathan. Of course, I'm doing it. Somehow, going into the geth consensus would allow me to stop geth fighters and end the immediate threat to the quarians. - It was like some kind of ancient video game inside. All blocks and paths. Orange was normal and red was Reaper-infected. I had to use a "gun" to destroy the Reaper infection. Saw a number of video logs along the way about the early days of the geth. Didn't make the quarians look good but I already knew they were blind stupid when it came to the geth. There were no "good" parties when it came to the war but it does seem to be that the quarians tried to eliminate them for asking "does this unit have a soul?" I wiped out all the infection and returned to my body. - EDI informed me the geth squadrons had either gone inert or withdrew from the fight. However, I watched a whole lot of geth prime become active and head in my direction. One of those was tough. A dozen or more? Shit. But Legion told me these were the geth from the server we'd just freed. They wished to join us against the Reapers. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, right? In any case, they didn't attack and offered to help on the Crucible. - Normandy: Legion showed us something interesting. We saw the geth processes in multiple forms: single, 10 units linked and with Reaper upgrades. The third was undoubtedly the equivalent of what you'd see in a living being. No doubt the geth were alive in the most meaningful ways. Shala didn't want to believe it but arguing with the evidence was futile. The geth hadn't wanted to become like organics but once the new thing happened they realized how wonderful it could be. Why wouldn't they want this change? EMS: 4428 (I think it's down from last time but my galactic readiness is lower.)

From Morlan's Famous Pawn and Broker ShopDeception Novel Cost: 1 credit What mod is this from? Is it from a mod? I know you can buy novels on the Citadel in ME2. The rest is clearly pure fantasy on the part of the OP. It rework the war asssets in a much better way IMO, expand the galaxy map (the whole galaxy is already open), create some new missions like the evacuation of Thessia, add all the MP armors to the SP game, all weapons go to level X already so you don't need a NG+ and make some decisions of ME1 and ME2 impact on how you acquire war assets. You also can customize the Normandy in many ways if you wish.
It corrects lore errors and also permits one nice thing: you can customize how the DLCs become available and various game's timing. In my game Omega is only available after Sur'Khesh, Leviathan is from the beginning and Citadel only after Horizon (wich makes sense, because every squadmate is available and Shepard really needs a rest, like Joker states after Thessia). You can customize Which relay video to use (or none at all). Change various mod settings. Select how new squadmates become available. Set Garrus to wear casual or armor on the Normandy Hide/Unhide alliance armor kits Unlock the Cerberus Ajax armor as seperate helmet/torso (if you have the AAP dlc). Set the timings for when the emails that start the From Ashes, Leviathan, Omega and Citadel DLCs arrive. Set whether Mordin briefs you about the Genophage cure being ready immediately or in a seperate cutscene. Set whether Hackett briefs you about the Quarians immediately or in a seperate cutscene. Set whether the Asari Councillor briefs you about the situation on Thessia immediately post Rannoch or in a seperate cutscene. Change the timing of each N7 mission.
The mod is totally lore friendly and don't change the core missions, assigments or the ending, so people don't need to worry about a dragon appearing in the middle of a Reaper war. LOL Overall the mod is really, really good.

brfritos Thanks! I thought that might be where it came from. I dl'd that mod some time ago but I'm too lazy to install mods again into ME3. It was a big headache before and, though I know they've made it somewhat easier now, it still requires more effort than "click to install."

It was a big headache before and, though I know they've made it somewhat easier now, it still requires more effort than "click to install." Actually no, now it's really click, install, play. The mod it's a EXE, you click and install. ME3Explorer changed A LOT from old versions and now it's really user friendly when using basic functions. Basically this four icons is everything you need. Remember the old days, where you need to rebuild every toc one by one? Not anymore. You install the mod, open ME3Explorer and click on Auto Toc. Choose "rebuild all tocs", close the app and go play the game. I'm replaying ME3 again after a long time and I came the same place where you've come from, ME3Explorer version 1.0 and 2.0! The team behind the application really worked hard, It's very different now. Give it a try.

It was a big headache before and, though I know they've made it somewhat easier now, it still requires more effort than "click to install." I've had it before. I had lost interest due to not fully reading the instructions and so lost out on assets due to missions expiring. By the time I understood, I had already uninstalled it. Haven't had a strong desire to reinstall it. I'm happy with MEHEM, Anderson Extended Conversation and (when it's completed) Same Sex Romance. I don't remember seeing all that stuff about the books in the mod. I probably wouldn't appreciate it, either, since I never read the book in question.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity: Melody received a message from the salarian councillor, Esheel, who claimed to have evidence that Donnell Udina was corrupt and requested a private meeting at the Citadel. When the Normandy arrived, she found the traffic control comms unresponsive. A private message from Thane explained that Cerberus had taken control of the station. The Normandy shuttle made a hot landing at C-Sec's private bay, finding the place under siege. Melody, Garrus and Liara shot their way past the Cerberus troops and made contact with Cdr Bailey. He explained that Cllr Esheel had a meeting scheduled with the C-Sec executor, and her life was therefore in danger. The squad proceeded through the war zone that was C-Sec HQ, finding evidence of sleeper agents within C-Sec. Arriving at the executor's office, they found him dead. Esheel appeared, having been hiding using a cloaking device, and was immediately attacked by a pretentious poser wielding a sword. Thane appeared out of the shadows and fought him off, but was badly injured in the process. The squad borrowed a police car and pursued the "Phantom" assassin through the Presidium to the Citadel Tower, where they had to ride atop an elevator in an attempt to beat the assassin to the top. They found Udina with the asari and turian councillors, and Kaidan acting as an escort in his capacity as a Spectre. Melody explained that a Cerberus assassin was right behind them, and Udina was likely dirty, leading his colleagues into a trap. Udina countered by claiming that she was still working for Cerberus; her Ajax armour didn't really help her case. With Kaidan and Melody pointing guns at each other, her blood ran hot and she refused to lower her weapon, forcing her former colleague to blink first and eventually take her side. Udina showed his true colours, pointing a gun at the asari councillor when she attempted to stop him. Melody executed him immediately. Bailey arrived with a C-Sec squad; both he and the councillors were grateful that a tragedy had been averted. Melody visited Huerta Memorial to check on Thane, finding the corridors full of civilian victims of Cerberus' coup attempt. She found Kolyat with his father, administering drell last rites: due to complications from Kepral's syndrome, Thane would not recover from his injuries. She joined Kolyat in a prayer that turned out to be for her. (This is one of my favourite scenes in the game, perhaps in the whole trilogy). The Presidium was a total mess, with wounded civilians being treated in the streets. She'd been having doubts about her former allies since Benning, but this latest atrocity made Melody realize that Cerberus would never come around and join the Alliance in their fight, and she could no longer justify continuing to wear armour with their logo. (Character development!) While looking around at the devastation, Melody was stopped by a C-Sec detective investigating misuse of batarian diplomatic codes. Using her Spectre privileges, she found links with acts of anti-human terrorism and discovered that the perpetrator was Balak, the instigator of the Terra Nova crisis three years before. He was stupid enough to pull a gun on her; she disarmed him and used his own pistol to settle her unfinished business. Kaidan was waiting for his former commanding officer at the Normandy docks. Both tense, they cleared the air, Kaidan saying that he no longer doubted her. He explained that Hackett had offered him an assignment, but Melody made him a better offer and he agreed to join the Normandy squad. Via QEC Skype, Hackett and Anderson expressed disbelief that Udina would attempt to sell the Council out to Cerberus. They also forwarded intel on the assassin, Kai Leng, with whom Anderson had some history. (I've read the novel trilogy since my previous playthrough, so Kai Leng seems a little less pointless now). Melody checked in with some of her squad: - EDI asked about the purpose of synthetic life. Melody encouraged her to use Cerberus' former goals as a starting point to determine her own purpose.
- She found Garrus at the cenotaph, to which Thane's name had been added. He expressed relief that the standoff atop the Citadel Tower had not ended in Kaidan's death.
- Like Melody herself, Kaidan was having mixed feelings about not being able to fight on Earth, where his mother was living, his father MIA. Melody expressed empathy with her colleague.
Current EMS: 1386. (Barely higher than last time; perhaps I misread it before. Checked and double-checked this time!) Pics and video follow. I screwed up a few times in the combat, all completely avoidable mistakes of course All the deaths (four in total, as I recall) have been edited out of the video, but there are plenty of non-death mess-ups for you to enjoy. Stop messing about with the Cutscene Predator. You have a CLAYMOAR! This is why we bring Liara on this mission (as well as for narrative reasons, with Garrus, Liara and the Virmire survivor pointing guns at each other). Stasis, headshot, bye-bye Phantom: Turian chivalry is dead: Melody insists that Kaidan blink first: All's well that ends well: Last rites: Another moment of silence for another fallen hero: Thank you for the second opportunity: Welcome aboard: You and me both: Keep lying to yourself; whatever it takes to get through this war: Replacing that Cerberus armour: Alliance blue with gold detailing, mirroring her uniform. Acquiring the Hahne-Kedar chestplate is why I wanted to do the turian platoon missions before the coup. You can see a comparison with the Ajax armour on the right; I've compensated for the reduction in shield strength by raising Fitness to rank 6b. Hopefully, the reduction in ammo capacity won't be a problem; if it is, I can compensate by switching helmets from Capacitor to Kestrel and accept a slightly slower shield recharge speed as a consequence. Watch as I attempt to shoot through Garrus, repeatedly cast Sabotage on a window and make a complete hash of the elevator sequence: Bonus video: I have no idea what caused this, but it amused me. Wheeeee!

"This one other thing I still wanted to do was to investigate a project that the Illusive Man had sent me information about when I first got onto the SR-2. It was about a Cerberus facility on Aite that had gone silent. I couldn't care less about what had happened there at the beginning, but at that point I had disassociated mysef from the Illusive Man and I thought I could dig up some more dirt on Cerberus." "Good thinking. What did you find?" "Another of their sick experiments. When we arrived we found all the scientists dead except one. Dr. Gavin Archer. He told me about the project and how they had attempted to communicate with the geth." "Talk with them? Did they want peace with these machines?" "Maybe. I don't know what they ultimately wanted to achieve with this research. Considering who's involved nothing good I guess. And even if their goals had been noble after all, their methods were typically barbaric. Archer had told us that they used his own brother for the attempt to communicate with the geth. He was autistic and they tried to fuse him with a VI. Of course it went wrong and the VI had gone rogue. I was shocked when I finally found logs of Archer's brother and then saw what they had done to him. Prior to this I had thought that he had agreed to the experiment, but--" "He hadn't?!" "No. Mom, they had strapped him to some device, put tubes into his body, his eyes forced open for god knows how long." "Oh my god. How cruel. How could this man... His own brother!" "Yeah... It was tough to watch. But I got him out. His name's David and I sent him to Grissom Academy afterwards." "Grissom?! But wasn't the academy attacked by Cerberus?" "Oh, so you heard that already." "Well yes, I told you I know some things. Not everything of course, but there was news about the academy recovering from the attack some months ago. When you were still out." "I see. Well... yeah, the academy got attacked, but we got most of the students out safely. And David was among them." "That's good to know. Poor kid. I hope he's still alright." "No idea. Last I knew they were all holding up, helping out in the war. And that was only a couple of hours before I activated the Crucible." "I'm sure he's okay. He is." "I'll try to find out, ma. Well, after this great experience I headed into batarian space to do Hackett a favour and get his old friend Amanda Kenson out of a batarian prison. She had a project running and claimed to have proof about the incoming Reaper invasion. As it turned out, this was true. She and a few other scientists had found an artifact of Reaper origin on an asteroid. I received a vision myself after I had broken her out of the prison and headed to the research base with her to check out this artifact. Their project was all about smashing this asteroid into the nearby Alpha relay, which the Reapers would've used to invade the galaxy. Time was short, as there were only a bit more than two days left according to the calculations." "Two days? Lucky you arrived there when you did!" "Yeah. Not that it changed anything. No one was prepared when the Reapers eventually hit... But anyway, Kenson and the others were already indoctrinated and Kenson wanted the project shut down. I couldn't allow that so I had to fight my way through to activate it again. I barely escaped, but it was done... and the asteroid took out the relay." "And the Bahak system..." "...Yes. I wish I could've done something else, but it wasn't much of a choice. Let the Reapers in right away, or kill all batarians in this system to buy us some time. I'd do it again if I had to." "I know, honey. And you did the right thing. If the Reapers arrived there, the batarians would be just as dead." "I guess so. After everything was over, Hackett came to me in person to tell me he could buy me some time, but that ultimately I had to face the consequences of what I had done. The Alliance tried hard to prevent a war with the batarians." "And so that's how you ended up in the brig for six months..." "Yeah. I turned myself in shortly after. And there's a lot to talk about from this point on... But it's getting kind of late. You mind if we continue tomorrow?" "No, of course not. But actually, I'll have to run a few errands first. But I'll be back as soon as I can. I reckon... 11-ish?" "Sounds perfect to me, mom. I have more physiotherapy in the morning anyway. Oh, and mom, can you please get me some more of these chocolate bars?" "You got it, sweetie." "Thanks." Piiiics: I still hate the Hammerhead sections so much. The only Game Overs I had were there Overlord went very well otherwise and I took the Cain with me to the end fight. Nice For Arrival I switched the difficulty to Casual because I only like this DLC as a bridge into ME3 and want to be done with it asap. That means... back into ME3, weeee! I can't wait to see how the Sentinel plays there.

Holy hell... just finished the trilogy ... I had all the dlc's installed so the ride was again great (it just gets better and better), but I had forgotten to install the crusial extended cut.
I have experienced the old ending just once, so I didn't remember how surrealistic awful it was. Just how... wow... I didn't even realize that the discussion with the starboy was so short. He simply just told me to pick a colored card.

From the Journal of Ioan Shepard:
- Rannoch: Time to find Admiral Koris, if he was still alive. Really don't like what this guy put Tali through when he accused her of treason and stripped her of a quarian ship name. Unfortunately, he was the best chance of preventing a war with the geth. If he died, Tali would never be able to hold up against the other admirals. Rannoch itself was beautiful. Other then a few geth towers, it was untouched. Geth wouldn't need housing like organics so nature reclaimed the land. - Found a dying quarian. He was a civilian. Never should have been here. He was happy to have seen the homeworld of his people and asked to deliver a last message to his son, Jona. I'm positive this was the name of the boy who lost his mother on the Alerei. Now he was an orphan. - We disabled a few AA guns, which allowed Cortez to use the shuttles to destroy a geth jamming tower. Then I had to convince Koris that I needed to say him over his remaining crew still on Rannoch. In the end, he realized this was the right decision. His return prevented ships from the civilian fleet from leaving the Migrant Fleet and likely being destroyed by the geth. Also, Xen is outright crazy. She'd rather salvage geth technology than rescue her own people. EMS: 4569. - Now there was just one thing left here, which was to destroy the Reaper Base on Rannoch. That would stop them from controlling the geth. Tali claimed a spot for her future new home. I gave her a rock, a piece of the land, so she could do what quarians have been doing for 300 years: carry home on her back.

You can just go back to a prior save and finish things off with a better ending. Me, I use mods because I prefer them to even the EC.

You can just go back to a prior save and finish things off with a better ending. Me, I use mods because I prefer them to even the EC. Yes, I will do it if I have the time. I do have my real ending fresh in my mind, so let see if I am just saving it for a future playtrough. I don't mind so much for the happy ending mod. In my gaming reality Shepard knew the price and made the ultimate sacrifice (altough I always get the breathing scene). But of course each of their own, I have huge respect for those who made the mod, and was tempted to try the one which saves my official partner in crime Thane Krios, but I kinda liked how his story continues in the Citadel dlc, so it didn't feel necessary. The one good thing about playing without the extended cut dlc was that it makes the possibility of indoctrination even clearer. When I played the ending first time without the cut, I felt very bad and corrupted when I accidentaly runned right to the synthesis ending. I corrected it after two days restless sleeping. The answers of the kid are so bizarre and so untrustworthy in the original that it is even easier to choose the destruction of the reapers without the slightest of hesitation. Ps. Absolutely sorry for my english if I make mistakes, even without the correct vocabulary I tend to be wordy.

Started an ME1 PT with Giovanna Shepard, colonist, war hero, Paragon Vanguard on Hardcore. I chose the sniper rifle, which I really liked on my Infiltrator PT, as her additional power. Now as Vanguard, she can use the pistol, shotgun, and sniper rifle in addition to her biotic powers. I have two mods installed: MEUTIM and the latest version of rondeeno's ME1 same sex romance mod. After having completed the Liara romance with Loredana, Giovanna, instead, will go after Ashley. It should be interesting to see what changes rondeeno made to that romance. After becoming a Spectre, Giovanna first went to the Artemas Tau cluster to search for Benezia's daughter, Liara T'Soni. Giovanna believed that if Liara was free from Saren's influence, her expertise on the Protheans might help Giovanna make sense of the vision she had after interacting with the Beacon on Eden Prime. She might also convince Benezia to surrender. She found Liara trapped in a Prothean ruin while being hunted by Saren's Geth. They then rescue Liara and go to Noveria in search of Benezia. On Noveria, they find a planet run by business interests that turn a blind eye on questionable research. Benezia is here to deal with some crisis in the Binary Helix; BH is controlled by Saren. After dealing with corruption in Port Hanshan, they head to Peak 15 where BH's labs are located. They are warned that Benezia had asari commandoes with her. Before they are even able to grab a Mako, they are ambushed by geth. Upon arriving at Peak 15, they soon find what drew Benezia: large insect-like creatures have escaped BH's labs and are attacking all they run into. Giovanna and her team assist the surviving staff and discover the monsters they are fighting are rachni, an extinct species resurrected by BH in hopes of creating super soldiers. They were able to hatch a rachni queen from a long frozen egg on a derelict warship from long ago. They finally reach the main lab where Benezia and her entourage safeguard the queen. Liara proves loyal to Giovanna in the inevitable battle against geth and asari commandoes. They find out that Benezia has been brainwashed by Saren; she uses the term "indoctrinated." Unable to save Benezia, Giovanna finds herself communicating with the rachni queen who uses a fallen commando to talk to her. The queen says that her violent "children" attack because they were raised separate from her and can no longer be saved. She asks for mercy for her species; she promises to raise her children in isolation from other species and avoid hostilities. Giovanna shows mercy and lets the queen fly off. After finishing off the rest of the queen's psychotic children, Giovanna takes the Normandy on a number of missions fo0r the Alliance. The VI in a training base on Earth's moon has gone rogue and is killing marine trainees. Giovanna and company shut down the VI, killing numerous drones defending it. They also investigate a rogue black ops group named Cerberus on behalf of Admiral Kohaku, whose marines were killed by a thresher maw in a trap laid by Cerberus. I continue to admire how well-designed the main missions are. I'm also annoyed at how lame and repetitive the secondary missions are. How many times did they reuse the same warehouse or lab? One also has to wonder about Ashley's iconic white and pink Phoenix armor! All the other marines in her squad appear to have been dressed in more military-like outfits. One would think they would all be wearing the same thing. I always feel evil whenever I put Phoenix armor on any of the male characters. (It does look good on Tali, though.) The stats on Phoenix armor are also pretty miserable, so it typically gets sold or turned into Omni Gel.

The places are reused like those for DA II but unlike the latter, there is no horde mode and the places stay empty after the mobs are cleared. That's a blessing when you realised you forgot something and had to go back and need not have to waste more time kicking off the same packs again. I always dump Ash out of the pink and white. I remember my reaction when I first saw her. Disbelief. What kind of space age military organization would approve of such colours for their soldiers?!! I also refused to pick up any armor loot that said Phoenix. That was in the initial PT, and in all PTs btw. I dug in my heels and said; nope, nope. Everyone go green or camouflage and wear full combat hardsuits and helmets at all times on missions or I'll fire them out of the airlock.

Melody Shepard, Colonist/Sole Survivor/Infiltrator, ME3 Insanity: Primarch Victus sent Melody an email, asking her to investigate the volus ambassador Din Korlack, bizarrely suspected of being in league with Cerberus. Using her Spectre credentials, Melody discovered that he had indeed been passing information to Cerberus, although he'd been trying to get out of the arrangement since they became overtly evil. Tracking him down, she discovered that he had passed the name of a turian colony to Cerberus. After some persuasion, he revealed the name of the colony and resolved to speak to C-Sec about getting some protection from Cerberus. Heading down to the docks, Melody agreed to help a documentary maker to get some photographs of the refugees. She also made contact with Zaeed Massani, who pledged assistance to the war effort, along with some old associates of his (the few who were still alive, anyway). And she spoke to Tactus, the refugee community leader, about swapping some of his military-grade supplies for more suitable civilian-grade supplies, thus helping both the Alliance and himself. Returning to the Normandy, Melody delivered a thermal pipe that Adams had requested to the engine room, and spoke with Anderson on QEC Skype, learning that the Reapers seemed to be planning something in London. (A street party to celebrate the Queen's birthday, perhaps?) At the request of the asari government, Melody ordered the Normandy to the remote colony world of Lessus. A distress call had been received, but the commando squad that had been dispatched to investigate had never returned. Melody took a shuttle with Liara and Kaidan; en route, Liara explained that the distress call had come from a monastery inhabited by Ardat-Yakshi: asari with a condition that kills their bondmates during melding. Confined to monasteries for the safety of asari society, Ardat-Yakshi were too dangerous to be afforded freedom. The squad found the monastery in darkness, with clear signs of fighting, and eerie screaming in the distance. The bodies of the commandos were consistent with Reaper attacks. Pressing further in, the squad encountered the source of the screams: "Banshee" husks produced from the Ardat-Yakshi, with strong biotic abilities and extremely sharp claws. Extremely tough opponents, they eventually succumbed to gunfire and biotic assault. Only two Ardat-Yakshi remained, sisters Rila and Falere. Rila was already starting to succumb to the conversion process; Falere was unaffected. Before losing her mind to the Reapers, Rila took control of a bomb that the commando team had brought in, giving Falere and the Normandy squad time to escape before she detonated it, destroying the Reapers and the monastery. Distraught at her sister's death, Falere turned on Melody, who restrained herself from killing the asari, recognizing that she was a victim, not a villain. Falere resolved to stay in the ruined monastery, keeping the vow she had made never to leave. I found it actually a lot easier to deal Banshees as a vanguard than as an infiltrator. Their Warps were what did me in; as a vanguard, one can Charge them to evade the Warps; this is perfectly safe because if they're throwing Warps then they're not in sync-kill mode. The second and final Banshee battles both took a few tries; in the second one, I kept taking crossfire from Cannibals while shooting at the Banshee or other Cannibals. EMS at the end of this mission: 1409 The next mission was a favour for Hackett on Noveria in the Horsehead Nebula. Melody passed the flight time by sharing a drink with Dr Chakwas, then calling in on Adams, Donnelly and Daniels in engineering, who were pleased with their new eezo capacitor design that might be of use on the Crucible. The mission on Noveria was to infiltrate a Cerberus fighter base and lower its defences in preparation for a full-scale assault. Melody chose Kaidan and James for this mission; for giggles, she equipped James with a Disciple shotgun recovered from the monastery, styled more for asari than for hulking human marines. James didn't protest, but preferred to use his Mattock for some reason... The base was staffed by indoctrinated cannon fodder; after the nightmarish Banshees, shooting these guys was almost relaxing. Not even the Atlas gave the squad any trouble. EMS at the end of this mission: 1454 One pic, two videos: That's a much better gun than the Cutscene Predator: Ardat-Yakshi Monastery. My many deaths have been edited out, but there is still a lot of derpy shooting for you to enjoy. My play suffers when I'm under Banshee pressure: Noveria mission. No deaths here, but plenty of aimless wandering around and flubbed shots for your amusement. You might also like to see fraggle 's video of the same mission to contrast our playstyles.
