Loaded up Jack today and together with Liara and Garrus they went to meet some Rachni. Was sure he had spared them, but apparently he did not. He didn't spare them here either. But one day. They then nabbed some civilians off Benning, shot some cannons on Tuchanka and finished some minor mission around the Galaxy. Back on the Normandy, Jack got to hear Mordins rendition of "I am a Pirate King" at the urging of Eve. Should visit them more often, in case Mordin starts putting up full blown musicals down there. Then Jack finished up some business on the Citadel, so he's now ready to hit Tuchanka in the next session.
In general things, managed to fix Benjamin's face. Was sure I had checked that the game hadn't cooked up a new face-code, but apparently not. Fixed that so he'll get to keep his smiling baby face in the next game. Yay.

Miriam Shepard helped Grunt... Flew to Tarith in the Crescent Nebula to sabotage a Blood Pack comms relay. Took Mordin and Jacob as backup. Hazardous surface conditions due to chlorine fog; lit a beacon path to aid navigation. Encountered hostile insect-like life-forms; armour-plated, fire-breathing, post-mortem explosion. Comms relay was defended by Blood Pack boss Salamul; neutralized him and vorcha lackeys; shut down relay. Ordered the Normandy to Tuchanka, landed shuttle in Clan Urdnot capital (or what passes for it). Pleased to discover that Wrex has ascended to Urdnot chief; happy to renew friendship with him. Took Tali along so she could say hello as well. Wrex's regime is enlightened: attempting to unite other clans under Urdnot; protecting civilians; providing safe environments for women and children. Introduced Grunt to Wrex. Wrex offered Grunt membership of Urdnot on completion of his Rite of Passage. (Tali likened situation to Pilgrimage). Encountered Gatatog Worf Uvenk, a traditionally-minded krogan opposed to Wrex's reforms. He trash-talked Grunt. Headbutted him in response. Spoke to Urdnot shaman about Rite of Passage. Was taken to arena to fight by Grunt's side as his krantt; permitted to take a third warrior so chose Samara. Fought waves of varren and insectoids (same as on Tarith); forced into close-quarters combat so made extensive use of L5n biotic abilities. Final challenge was a thresher maw; took it down with conventional weapons. (Readied M-920 Cain for use but turned out to be unnecessary). Approached by Uvenk with an insincere offer for Grunt to join Gatatog. Grunt declined with predictable outcome; after a thresher maw, Uvenk and his goons posed no challenge. Grunt welcomed into Urdnot by Wrex and shaman. Helped defend Urdnot grain storehouse by using heavy artillery to kill pyjaks. [Aside from the thresher maw, this mission was all vanguarding, all the time. It's thematically appropriate for the combat to be CQC versus an enemy horde; forces one to fight like a krogan Uvenk also got the Charge treatment, by that point I was having far too much fun ]

So after failing to survive the Citadel DLC ambush as Jackie Shepard last night, I managed to do it first time tonight because of course I did.
Then I managed to do it again, this time as Kim Shepard. Kim was a little easier since she is a Vanguard, although I did die once. I actually forgot I had Biotic Charge for the first half. charging in the second half made it easier of course.
So Jackie, Kim, Erin, and Jen Shepard have now all survived the ambush. Next time they will infiltrate a casino.

Page 1 Dear Hercules I'm sorry to hear about your friend being killed. I'm sorry I can't be there to give you a hug. I'm just glad you're ok. I don't know what I would do if something were to happen to you. Now look what you made me do. You got me crying. Give me a moment............. Lets talk about his girl you mentioned. Ah yes. Ashley is her name. She winks at you and you're scared? As your mother, I have to say "grow a pair". She is flirting with you. Meaning she is interested in you. Now you will listen to your mother young man. Be nice to her. Wink back. While you're at that Citadel thing or whatever you call it, take her to lunch. Try holding her hand. Bottom line son. I want grandchildren. So listen to your mother alright mister? Now. If for some reason it doesn't work out, there's always Julie. You two grew up together. I saw her the other day. She even asked about you. She isn't seeing anyone. I always thought the two of you would be together.
Enough of that. I sent the stuff you asked for. I even made an extra batch of your favorite cupcakes. Don't want my little man going hungry. Please be careful son. After we heard about the attack on Eden Prime, everyone in the neighborhood put yellow ribbons on their mailbox. Everyone is wishing the best for you. Be careful son. Look forward to hearing from you again. Now your father like to say something.
Page 2 I'm not very good at this. So I'll keep it short. How's my son doing? I'm proud of you. You know that, but that letter really hit hard with your mother. She couldn't stop crying. So the next letter you write, you may want to ease up on the needing a hug thing. At the moment things are going well. Your mother and I are going to Dallas to see the Cowboys and Giants game. You know I'm a big football fan. Your mother not so much. Ok. That's all for now. Be careful son. Love dad.

I'm about to start my first ever ME playthrough Since they're now compatible for Xbox One I finally bought them. Or maybe not. I can't get over the horrible character creator. Why would you bother making your own character if literally all of them look the same?

Why would you bother making your own character if literally all of them look the same? I guess I was lucky, because I found what I wanted my protagonists look like very fast, and they all look different to me, but the appearances change in ME2/3 as well. I am on PC, maybe that makes a difference? What was really odd was when ME3 could not handle my first character's face, and I did not understood the options, and suddenly my Shepard was a green-eyed blonde! Anyways, I hope you will find a look that works for you!

Dear Mom and Dad
Understood mom. I will grow a.....pair? Thanks for sending the things I asked for. Walked around the Citadel. Not bad. I like walking around Square One in Mississauga better. The Citadel has no restaurants that were worth anything. I couldn't live here without having a McDonalds or a Swiss Chalet. They had no Labatts Blue or Budweiser. I was looking at video games. They don't carry any Call of Duty games. I asked about a ps4. They didn't have those. You wouldn't like it here mom. No Walmart or Macy's.
Ok. I spoke to the council. They won't do anything. Ambassador Udina suggests finding clues that can lead to the Saren turian losing his spectre status. Went to club. Talked with a guy named Harkin. I know if dad was with me he would beat the crap out the Harkin guy. He tolds me where I can find a turian named Garrus. I recruited Garrus to help. I know dad. Don't trust turians. I don't, but he may give clues that could lead to finding Saren. He mentioned a quarian. Never heard of a quarian before? Went back the club and beat up the owner. Well actually it was Ashley who beat him up. I don't want to get on her bad side. I see it now dad. You're laughing about that. Yes I admit, the girl scares me. He told us where to find the quarian.
So that's a quarian. What's with the mask thing? Hmmm. Ok. Back at the Ambassadors office, the quarian plays an audio with the turians voice. The turian was responsible for Eden Prime. There was another voice that mention reapers. Don't know what that is. I didn't want the quarian on the squad, but the Ambassador said said to take her.
The council dumped the Saren turian and made me a spectre. Cool. Maybe I will eventually become king. No dad. That's not funny. Ok. Anderson gave up his Commander of the Normandy for me. Nice. I can fly my own ship. I wonder if it flies like the ships I flew in videogames. Oh yeah. Some krogan wanted to join, but I told him no. He seemed like he would be more trouble than he's worth. I will write again soon. Oh yeah. Enjoy the football game. Love you.
PS. I winked back at the girl mom. She turned red. I hope that isn't a sickness she has. I will go talk to her while we're traveling to a colony.

I just finished Mordin's loyalty mission and it was really emotional. My Shepard is vocally anti genophage, but I see Mordin's side of it too. The scene where Mordin and Shepard discuss the female Krogan's choice to volunteer for research on the chance it would make her fertile made me tear up.

Page 1 Dear Mom and dad. Went to the colony Feros. For some reason the robots with the flashlights were there. I overloaded them all. Got to frive the Mako. It has a big gun. You should've seen me dad. Firing at the robots. BOOM. BOOM. So much fun. I looked to my right. Ashley winked at me. I winked back. She didn't turn red this time.
One of the robots ships is stuck on the side of a building. We head to where it can be knock off. I over heard Ashley say to Kaidan she likes my backside. Never heard that before. If she says my back is nice, that must mean it is? Whatever. The robot ship falls to the ground. Get back to the colonists and see some looking green, puking zombies. Its like something out of a horror movie. Oh crap. I got slimed. I'm going to send my uniform to you mom to wash. Yuck. The stuff stinks as well. Gross.
Head down underground to see a giant looking plant. It spits out an asari. If you didn't know. That's a species that is the color blue and has tentacles on the head. So that's how they reproduce. Why aren't they called asari the plant? This one wants to fight. Thanks Kaidan. He uses his throw power thing on the plant asari.
Here comes more green looking zombies. After dealing with the zombies, another asari the plant pops out of...... a pod or whatever stuck to the wall. Hmmm. Can they be reproduced by the wall? Interesting. Maybe they reproduce two different ways. Ok. You have the asari the plant and the asari the wall.
Page 2 She talks to us. I need a cypher or something to know what the Saren turian knows. She says embrace eternity. What does that mean? I rather embrace a nice slice of pepperoni pizza. I see another vision. Lets get out of here.
I go talk with the doctor. She says I'm fine, but suggests I get some rest. Good idea. Its going to take time to get to Noveria. I write some more later. Love you.

Continued with my ME2 "minimal" adept run with Prodigal, Rite of Passage, Old Blood, Disabled Collector Cruiser, and Haestrom.
I need to recruit Thane and Samara and then just figure out which loyalty missions I will do besides Tali and Legion's to get to 7, although I have been considering just doing 8 LM's so I can take Miranda with me for the final battle.

Page 1 Dear Mom and Dad
This will be a long letter. Things are moving at a fast pace. Ok. After Feros, I headed to Noveria. Heard rumors of the Saren turian had a second-in-command on the planet. After talking with some administrator, I was granted access to travel. It was fun driving the car into the robots. I hit one big robot crawler so hard it went flying off the cliff. Once there, fought some Krogan. They're tough. I'll give them that.
Got to a room that had bugs. Big bugs. They look like one of those creatures from a 1950's science fiction movie. Fought a lot of them. Finally can face-to-face with the Benezia asari. I'm not sure if she's from the wall species or the plant species. Its hard to tell with them They all look the same. Whatever. She mumbled about something and then came under fire from more of the asari looking species. Made short work of them. Hmmm. Those were commandos? Ha. They wouldn't last basic training in the Alliance. The Bezenia tells me about the mu relay than dies.
Now I have to decide what happens to the giant bug in a tube. It's the last queen of the Rachni. I release her. I hope she goes after the asari species for what the Benezia one did to her. Ok. Back to my ship. I like saying that.
Page 2 I just talked with the douncil. They have a lead for me checkout on a planet called Virmire. Ok. We get to Virmire and again smash into more robots. Maybe if those thing get rid of the flashlight and get a pair of eyes, they would get out of my way. Hey. I made a funny. You like my joke mom and dad? Maybe I should become a comedian?
When meet up with some salarians. They are the walking lizard species. They're funny looking. We're going to attack the turian Saren's base. He wants to cure some phage or whatever its called. I don't care. I get to see a giant boom. Ashley goes with the lizaeds. She blows me a kiss. I blow her one back. Not sure what that means. Ok. Fight more robots. I talk with ai that is really a reaper. It wants to kill everyone. Ok. A crazy robot wants to kill organics? What's next? Lets go.The ship brings the bomb. I leave Kaidan to go get Ashley. Oh crap. The robot flying ship is dropping off more robots where Kaidan is. Kaidan tells me to get Ashley. I will. I fight the Saren turian. I leave Kaidan behind. Kaidan is dead. Mom I need a hug. I mean right now. I'm not cutout for this. I'm going to my cabin to relax.
Page 3 We're at the planet Therum. Need to find the asari plant. Her name is liar or something like that. Drive the Mako to the location while running over the robots. Maybe once this is done, I'll go find the manufacturing plant that make theses robots and destroy it. It was funny that I hit a robot crawler hard enough to send it into the lava. You know? I'm thinking a making a video game and call it Mass Effect based on what I've done so far. What do you think?
Ok. I see the asari plant. She's stuck. Ok. We get her out, but a krogan wants to take her from me. Me and the Garrus turian take care of the robots while Ashley takes care of the krogan. Lets get out of here. Back on the ship, the asari plant want ot read my mind to see if she can tell me where the conduit thing is. Embrace eternity. What does that mean? I don't want anyone messing in my head again. Ilos. That's where we're going. But first. I need to go back to the Citadel to alert the council. I will write again when I can. Love you both.

Also, Kaidan decided to dance for some reason:

Page 1 Dear Mom and dad
Back on the Citadel the council wasn't worried about Ilos and the Ambassador put the Normandy in lockdown. So Anderson said he take care of it. So now we're on our way to Ilos. Ashley came to my cabin.
Dropp3ed the Mako near Sarens location. Had to destroy more robots to find a way to open the big door. Now its open. As we're driving down the highway, I see a barrier ahead that blocks our way forward. Ok. Lets go down the elevator. We talk with a damaged hologram calling itself Vigil. It says the reapers surprised its species by coming through the Citadel. Its a giant relay. Ok. I take a floppy disk from it to use when I get to the Citadel.
I run over more robots. And there's the conduit. Its a mini-me relay the protheans built. Here we go. Hop in the elevator to take us to the console to gain control of the Citadel. It stopped. I fire at the class. We fight our way to the top. There's the turian calling himself Saren. My speech is so good that he added another hole to his head.
There's something you don't see everyday. The saren turian has turned into a grasshopper. We kill the thing. Then there's a big explosion. I tried to jump away, but wasn't able to get away in time. That hurts. Ok. I just got a few bruises and cuts.
Now for the happy news. In a short time I will end my time with the Alliance. This past mission has shown me that I don't have what it takes. I wimped out on a lot of things. Without Ashley, I most likely be dead. So get ready for your son to return mom and dad. I will also be bringing Ashley with me. See you soon.

Kim, Erin, Jackie, and Jen each took a turn infiltrating a casino. The owner, Khan, turned out to be a dead end each time. But they did manage to take his computer to be analyzed by EDI.

One day there will be a plot twist and it will be Khan who will be taken and analyzed. And in their office, the mystery enemy will crush their glass of scotch and shout his name in anger. Just you wait. Did not do much playing, but loaded up Michael for kicks and got him off the Illusive Mans platform (where he had been holding up his calls for four years) and got him to Omega to chat to the Queen of the Trash heap. Have finished his run once before, but was a massive moron and restarted the save, planning to change some decisions, changed my mind but accidentally deleted the original save. It was glorious. Maybe he'll have some better luck this time around.

Soldier FemShep, cont'd:
The Normandy arrived in the Attican Beta cluster, and once again Admiral Hackett contacted Shepard with a job for her. This time, it was to retrieve a downed spy probe on Eletania, that had been used to track geth activity in the cluster. The geth would, naturally, also be looking for the probe, trying to prevent the data getting back into Alliance hands.
Shepard, Tali, and Liara landed on Eletania and started looking around. While searching for the probe, they came across Prothean ruins containing a strange, spherical artifact. Shepard noticed a small opening on the underside of the artifact; it seemed to be the same size and shape of the unusual trinket that Sha'ira the Consort had given her back on the Citadel.
Shepard placed the trinket into the artifact, and was immediately knocked out by a flash of white light. Evidently the artifact was a data recorder, and Shepard experienced a remarkable vision of life as a primitive human that had been implanted by the Protheans, who were observing Earth from their base on Mars. She came to a few minutes later, to the relief of her friends (who were unaffected by the artifact).
They resumed the search, and eventually found the crashed probe. The vital data module, however, was gone - it appeared to have been taken by one of the monkey-like creatures native to Eletania. The party searched various locations, looking for the "space monkey" that had the module (Shepard wondered if anyone else in the Alliance ever had days like this), finally retrieving it in an underground mine shaft. Exiting the mine, they were ambushed by the geth. Once again, Tali's AI hacking skills, and Liara's ability to send enemies flying into walls and ceilings, made the fight relatively easy, despite being heavily outnumbered. They returned to the Normandy with the module, as well as the location of a couple of mineral deposits for the Alliance, and some salvage.

Miriam Shepard helped Mordin and Jacob... Still on Tuchanka, asked their chief scout for leads about Maelon, Mordin's former colleague who had gone missing. Scout provided intel that he had been captured by Clan Weyrloc, founders of the Blood Pack. Weyrloc were holed up at a disused hospital nearby. Travelled to hospital with Mordin and Urdnot Grunt. Encountered wild varren, insectoid klixen, and light resistance from Blood Pack troops. Recovered a combustion manifold from a pile of wreckage that Urdnot's mechanic had requested to repair a tank. Entered hospital, found human corpses showing evidence of experimentation. Mordin deduced Maelon being coerced into researching genophage cure, using humans as test subjects due to genetic diversity. Mordin horrified by experimentation on sentient species. Encountered Weyrloc "clan-speaker": made speech about Weyrloc's destiny of conquest; issued threats. Unfortunately for him, he made the mistake of standing above an exposed gas main. Found dead krogan females, apparent test subjects for cure. Spoke at length with Mordin about his work, the genophage, and medical ethics. He seems convinced that genophage was right; but also conflicted, clearly deeply affected by his work. Fascinating conversations; he is a complex individual. Discovered an imprisoned Urdnot scout, brainwashed into being willing test subject. Convinced him to return to the Urdnot camp. Encountered and neutralized Weyrloc chief Guld and his personal guard. Met Maelon in a lab deep in the hospital; immediately apparent that he was working of his own volition, having come to the conclusion that genophage was wrong. Mordin became enraged and tried to kill him; persuaded him to stand down and let Maelon go. After discussion, Mordin agreed not to destroy Maelon's research. Perhaps some good can come of it. Thanks to Wrex's enlightened leadership, Urdnot adopted the remnants of Weyrloc, mostly civilians. Ordered the Normandy to the planet Aeia in the Rosetta Nebula. Jacob had received intel about a distress call from the freighter on which his father had served. Went planetside with Jacob and Zaeed; beautiful scenery, but no time for sightseeing. Found the ship derelict and the crew suffering from neural decay caused by eating the local flora. Jacob's father had kept the ship's stores for himself, ruling over the incapacitated crew with absolute authority, only signalling for help when some turned on him. Sent a message to Alliance HQ to pick him up and put him on trial. Stuck around in the Rosetta Nebula, detected Blue Suns communications from an archaeological dig site on the planet Joab. Investigated with Mordin and Kasumi. Neutralized resistance, recovered Prothean artefact and evidence of Blue Suns interest in a vessel called Strontium Mule in the Omega Nebula. [Knowing that I'd encounter many charging krogan, I took the Firestorm on Mordin's mission. It trivialized the krogan encounters, including the battle with Guld. It's even cheesier than ME3's Reegar Carbine! I won't use it again, I do prefer to do at least a little work in combat The outcome was the same as in my first playthrough, didn't see fit to take the other option because I know that it'll get me the result I want in ME3. Jacob's mission was mostly shoot-from-cover due to constant automatic weapon fire, though Charge was useful for mobility in the battle at the end.]

Got a headshot! Boom! (Gory pic inside the spoilers). Also got Jack through Priority Tuchanka. That was not as exciting, except for the fact that Jack got Mordin to shout at him. I think it was because Jack didn't reveal the sabotage and Mordin had to find it out on his own. Jack's reasoning was just that he didn't want to get the Krogan even more mad at the Salarians, since the Dalatrass heavily implied that Mordin could fix the sabotage with relative ease, so no need to rile up the car. But still, it was nice to hear Mordins reasoning. While Jack wasn't fully convinced this was the right thing to do, even if Wrex had basically adopted him as a brother few moments before, he let Mordin have his wish and secured an alliance with the Krogan. But wasn't having much fun, so decided to start Sharon's run as well. Since I'm planning on doing two runs with her, one for vanilla Thane romance and one for mod Thane romance + Gunslinger achievement. And for lots of Nova and Charging as well. She visited Mars, Menae and Eden Prime and brought home a different alien species from each one. Now she's at the Citadel, looking for a bar tender who will serve her after a fairly depressing visit to the hospital. While she does that, Jack might finish the Citadel Coup on his end. Maybe.
Coop raided. Most of the save-able chickens survived, except the scaled one. I wish you could give Kolyat a hug. Or a free Sherpard-Therapy-Session thing. In a more light hearted tone, I also wish you could say yes when James ask Shepard if they are a shrink. "Yes and a dentist too". TL:DR Boom Headshot. All you need to know.

Erin Shepard: 1. Investigated a break-in at the Citadel Archives. Discovered she had a clone. Brooks revealed herself to be a traitor and tried trapping her in the vaults.
2. Boarded the Normandy before it took off. Fought the clone. Kicked the clone off the ship.
Jackie Shepard: 1. Investigated a break-in at the Citadel Archives. Discovered she had a clone. Brooks revealed herself to be a traitor and tried trapping her in the vaults.
2. Boarded the Normandy before it took off.
3. Currently fighting the clone. (I kept dying so I shut the game off. I don't feel like dealing with this crap tonight. Thing is, I am pretty sure I had Jackie beat the clone on the first try in the previous playthrough. No idea what changed this playthrough. Maybe I'm too tired right now.)

Been away playing Fallout 4 and Stellaris but missed this, so here's some John Shepard:
Athena Nebula: Toured asari space and picked up ships, fuel and artifacts that could be put to use in the war. I was dodging Reapers left and right except, strangely, in the mass relay system. Not only did the Reapers never approach me there, they also left the fuel depot intact. With very few exceptions, these have all been destroyed.
Far Rim, Quarian Envoy Ship: Picture this: an ancient and powerful race that has killed every species to rise out of the much for the past billion years has attacked. What do you do if you're a quarian? Start another damn war with someone else! I should let these assholes go down but I can't do that to Tali. Yes, they're fighting the geth to retake their homeworld. I just have to remind myself that it's the generals who made these poor decisions and not the average quarian, many of whom I've met and liked. And then there's Tali herself. She was promoted to general due to her expertise in fighting geth. She's opposed to the war but publicly maintains a facade of support to keep the fleet from dividing. However, she has promised the support of the fleet if we save the quarians from the geth - who just received a massive upgrade from the Reapers.
Perseus Veil, Geth Dreadnought: Brought Tali and Kaidan with me but I had to secure the docking tube on my own. Unfortunately, it was severely damaged from the fighting. While I made it across, a section behind me broke off and fell away. I had to find another tube for them to enter. After fighting through more geth than I'd seen in years, we found the source of the Reaper signal: Legion. This wasn't voluntary. Freed it and fought our way back out again, but not before General Hal'Gerrel fired on the now disabled dreadnought.
Normandy: I admit, my anger got the better of me, but Gerrel's actions put not just the safety of myself and squad at risk, but also that of the quarian civilian fleet. The guy is reckless. I punched him in the gut and threw him off my ship. I don't regret it. Honestly, I'm surprised General Raan even bothered to disagree with me about anything after that but, no, I wasn't letting her get her claws on Legion. Legion had proven to be my friend from day one. That hasn't been true of the generals.

I did the Citadel DLC last night and it was pretty good. Was not expecting "Shepard" to pop up like that. Guy's a headcase. The party was good too. Some very amusing conversations with certain guests.

Jackie Shepard beat the clone. I died a few times, but I finally did it. Tried to spare the clone's life, but the clone chose to die instead. Brooks went to prison.
Jen Shepard: 1. Investigated a break-in at the Citadel archives. Discovered she had a clone. The clone managed to trap Jen in a vault, but she escaped to chase after the clone.
2. Boarded the Normandy before it took off.
3. Fought the clone. Beat the clone. (Took a few tries.) Tried to spare the clone's life, but the clone committed suicide instead. Javik shot Brooks.
Kim Shepard: 1.Investigated a break-in at the Citadel archives. Discovered she had a clone. The clone tried to kill her by trapping her in a vault, but Kim Shepard does not go down that easily.
2. With Traynor's help, Kim boarded the Normandy before the clone could fly off with it.
3. Went toe-to-toe with the clone to see who was the better Vanguard. The real Kim Shepard came out on top... eventually. (Without Nova, the clone fight is tougher.) Kicked the clone off the ship. Shot Brooks.
