Mass Effect: Andromeda 30% off to preorder on Origin [no longer]

Yea... that is a good deal. I was going to do that anyway. But I'm in the US. Guess they're trying to bump market share in those regions.

The 30% off is in Australia as well. still not preordering though. I'll get mine off Ebay for like 20-25 bucks. Godamn highway robbers, Origin.

It's not currently showing up for me in Canada.

As much as I'm against pre-ordering, a 30% discount would be pretty tempting for a game there's basically a 99% chance I'm going to buy anyway at launch.

I just bought it in NZ. Wasn't planning to pre-order but their deal worked. Thanks for the heads up, never would have seen it.

The "negative opinion" of Origin stems from the "no Steam, no sale" people. Anyone who has actually used Origin sees that it's improved several fold since it was rebranded from EA Download Manager and is arguably a better, more functional client than Steam with a better customer support team.

Steam wins out from userbase and aggregation of features; the client itself is still trapped in 2006, Big Picture Mode notwithstanding.

It's a perspective, I'm not personally saying either one is better, they are much the same to me.

Eh, I can always cancel if the Deluxe Edition somehow ends up available cheaper elsewhere - I think it's an Origin exclusive though, so that's unlikely - or the regular edition gets so cheap that the £38 I paid for the Deluxe just doesn't feel worth it. Now, to endure seeing it sitting there in my library, unplayable, for the next couple of months--that's the difficult bit.



It'll be a bummer not having a physical copy; I generally don't bother with them these days, but this'll be the first Mass Effect I own without one. Still, I want the Deluxe, and there's no physical Deluxe edition for PC, so there's really nothing I can do. Maybe I'll pick up a sealed PC copy cheap on eBay in a few years.
