that is the problem....the interview spelled out that playing in teams means better rewards this the solo players get shafted Would you be ok if these rewards were given to you in the MP were available as well in the SP just...elsewhere? only if it is not a bs RNG thing

that is the problem....the interview spelled out that playing in teams means better rewards this the solo players get shafted You're looking at it the wrong way and your view may be off kilter. What they are trying to do is to flip the script from ME3MP. Whereas we all look up to people being able to solo platinum, we'll now all be saying, "Hey, me and this other guy? We ruled Plat the other day!" "Me, Joe, Amanda and Kirsten totally rocked gold today! It ruled!" Rather than, "I got bored and tried to solo plat until it became a reality." read it again...higher rewards for team.players...simple as that and it is BS

Considering how the strike team missions can be played either solo or with other players, then I'm fine with this system. Plus, it sounds like the missions' difficulty will be balanced around the number of players in a mission meaning that solo players won't experience an extreme difficulty spike. I only have two hopes that immediately come to mind. First, I hope there are no exclusive item rewards for people who play in a team. Otherwise, people who would rather remain in single player will be required to play with a team in order to get every item. Second, I seriously hope there is more to multiplayer than just horde mode missions. As much as I enjoy Mass Effect 3's multiplayer, it is easy to get burned out after a few matches because of the repetitiveness of the matches. Providing a variety of missions (sort of like Spec Ops) in addition with horde matches would help to create a longer lasting appeal to strike missions. that is the problem....the interview spelled out that playing in teams means better rewards this the solo players get shafted That's the thing. We don't know exactly what they mean by increased rewards.

I just think at the very worse that could happen is we get some cosmetic only stuff for our Ryders/ Nomad/ Tempest in the mode. Like with DA Is MP mode.

I'm not worried about it at all. It's clear that the MP can be ignored so that's most likely the route I'll take. OTOH, I think using the MP will give you more of a sense of a broader world. That is, you don't just have your squadmates and some randoms you meet on a mission, but other "pathfinders" (or whatever) out there doing their thing and running into from time to time. If they go from that angle it doesn't sound terrible even if I'm not really into MP.
I'm not sold on MP. I played it like maybe 2 or 3 times for ME3. Don't know that I'll do any better with ME:A. But, like I said, if they integrate it well into the storyline it might be okay.
EDIT: I also play on PC so I have no doubt that any weapons, armor, etc. that can only be played through cooperative MP would be made available through a mod.

The only weird part of this is you are going to maybe get rewards for Ryder in the SP version when you aren't playing as Ryder in the MP mode, but a member of the 'Apex Force', so you are going to get rewards when you aren't actually getting the rewards its...weird. Why Galactic Readiness did work, at least in theory, ME 3 MP did not give rewards to Shepard directly, but contributed to the state of the galaxy.

Because ORIGINALLY the only way to get enough EMF to get the breath scene in me3 was to play mp. And that was by DESIGN, as in when the complain was listed by a dev who went to the forum the answer was "working as intended".

MP was required to get ems to at least 4000 to get the breath scene. The extended cut lowered that requirement to 3100

We'll finally get to drag the SP only players to glory in the MP. Come give it a try and get hooked like the rest of us.
In all honesty I am really hopeful MEA will captivate me like ME3 MP did.

I'll never understand people complaining about developers making people go above and beyond for the best things in their games. Like people feel they should be able to get all the things with minimal effort. I understand if people are upset about being required to play multiplayer because they are in an area with bad internet connection. Others just complain that they shouldn't have to do this or that to get all the achievements or trophies for platinum or whatever. Getting all of those is supposed to be difficult and require you to do more than an average player. Saying "I should be able to get the best gear in the game without playing multiplayer" is just privileged. Why should you? It's their game, and they get to decide what level of effort gets what reward. People may not enjoy playing multiplayer, and that's fine, but that means you miss out on things that the devs have attached to multiplayer. That's your choice. It is not necessary for the devs to give everything to the lowest common denominator. They reward people who put the time and effort into the most of their game, play the game in different ways, use different weapons and abilities, and enjoy all aspects of the game. It's not fair to complain that I can't get all the achievements in ME2 with just playing and infiltrator kit. "But I don't like engineer!" Too bad. You want all the achievements you have to play as an engineer.

I just hope that these strike missions are not their idea of side missions/content to replace the fetch quest from DA:I. These should be an added bonus with no meaningful impact on the story and the ending of the game, ather than outpost liberations and other stuff wich can fit into the horde mode for some extra credits and xp. A separate mp is a welcome, as I put a 500+ hours into ME3MP.

I think BW just wants to draw in normally SP players for one, a few, several, a dozen, tens, hundreds of MP matches they wouldn't do otherwise.
Remember how X MP missions in ME3 raised galactic readiness to 100%? That never took that long, but it did take at least some hours.
I expect that, multiplied. Or exponential. I dunno.
Not in how it restricts the SP game, but in how far you're incentivised to dip, dive, swim into MP.
Chances are that if you're completionist (or not even that), you'll get most to all you'd want in SP through SP.
Though there's also a chance that MEA includes an optional 'Continue +' 'endgame grind' which you may achieve more slowly in SP, though maybe you can just NG+ it out. I know Bioware was playing around with extra grind with weapon levels in ME3, and this was made clearer in the continuing rewards that Citadel DLC Arena could give (credits).
It won't get in the way of the main story, it almost certainly won't get in the way of the secondary story, and only just maybe could get a little in the way of the level of grind to deal with super enemies/areas. Maybe. I think.
Most of this also sounds like a boost for people who prefer MP Shooter games to sidequesting a SP RPG. They can do that while still getting the higher levels as they focus on main story.
I'll be right with the rioters if we find SP is highly impeded (or so much worse - blocked) by MP progression. But there can theoretically be a wonderful middle ground.

I kinda think we'll be guided to do each of them once (assuming the setup is unique area missions that just get repeated later), with the preset crew + Ryder, if we want 'normal' progression. In a sense similar to doing the MP map N7 missions in ME3. But otherwise its just a boost. Maybe a boost you'll want in highest difficulty or wanting to tackle a certain area or whatever, but just a boost.

You want all the achievements you have to play as an engineer. Its not about minimal effort. Its about hating multiplayer in a series that presumably was going to allow someone compete all content in singleplayer. In ME3, to the point of locking out endings. And there are worries that in MEA, it'd be to the point where one can't get all otherwise SP rewards without grinding MP. Privileged? Stop it. They're customers or prospective customers. They're entitled to explain what they want to see in a product. I'm going to play MP but please don't represent so many here. Funny enough, I think the MEA devs at this point probably understand the perspective far more than you. In a perfect SP+MP world both sides would get everything they want all together at the same time, but that's hard because a narrative focus is hard to implement in MP things, or at least MP things to the point of grind/repeatable content that would make SP campaigners riot. But that won't stop bigger gaming companies from trying to get dollars from both sorts of players.

And I'm fine with it, depending on how Bioware balances the scales of the modes (will they make SP super needlessly grindy, is the big question; I want to be enticed by this world of Andromeda, not bored to tears, just instead of zzzzzing at Mako missions I'll be zzzzzing at killing 'mobs' in order to actually max out my Ryder beyond the actually interesting crafted missions). Apex Force is probably something like a group that is specifically associated with Ryder. Apex implying that it is the top, leading, forward force, so we may have them on their own less interesting but maybe more action-filled missions, while Ryder mostly otherwise goes on a more investigative journey that just includes important combat scenarios. We can in SP, optionally 'meet' in missions. It'd be especially cute if we 'level' (gear? change looks??) of our Apex Force and have them meet Ryder in SP version missions and Bioware goes so far as to add banter during all this that adds more as the story progresses. Bonus points if the missions have a level of random generation and added challenges as we go along. It'd be one step closer to a 'real' co-op feel. ME3 had squads, yes, but DAI added banter between characters and more of a backstory, so I wouldn't be surprised to see MEA to go further and engage the protagonist with the MP characters.

I would be shocked if it were something that dramatic. would you? Because ORIGINALLY the only way to get enough EMF to get the breath scene in me3 was to play mp. And that was by DESIGN, as in when the complain was listed by a dev who went to the forum the answer was "working as intended". And it was fixed afterwards because they realized (or people made them realize) it was a mistake. Why would they make the same error again?

I can't help but feel like I'm wander a bit through Fallout 4 again everytime I read about the Striketeam missions. "Ryder! There is a settlement that needs your help!" "Yeah, I know - just let me just fight the..:" "Ryder - the Kett attack the Outpost in the north western crater!" "Again? I was there half an hour ago and the strike team there was very effect -" "Ryder there spawned a Superboss near the southern settlement!" "Are you kidding me??? Gimme a teleport skill or a time manipulator and I'll do that sh*t. Otherwise - look for someone else!" Don't have anything against the whole Strikeforce idea as a whole, though I have a few questions regarding the balance between Singleplayer and the Multiplayer aspect and I have a problem with myself: the multiplayer modes are always very hard and I really suck at these modes. Horribly. I tried it in ME3 and failed. I often died between half a minute and a full minute. I tried it in DA:I and failed the same way. It'll be delightful to have me as a strikeforce squadmate. I'm very reliable: I'll run into every explosion and AoE that I'll find. I'm a german oak! I'll never avoid the storm!
