It is when it makes you play an entirely different game to get the rewards. Some of us view MP as an entirely separate kind of game. I don't think BioWare view it that way, they have made it clear that they did not want to divide their resources with separate single player and multiplayer combat mechanics, but instead to devote all their energies on one excellent combat mechanic that would be successful in both single player and multiplayer. And how wild were people over DAI's combat mechanics? This seems to be even further down that path.

I fully intend to pick an alien for every one of these missions, at least that way (in my very small and inconsequential way) I can narratively have someone other than special snowflake humanity doing something productive. How dare you break the trope of only humans being the hero in a sci-fi story!

Oh if I had my way I'd have humanity on the same overall level as the humans from Titan A.E.
Nothing fancy or special about us, and barely registering as more than a blip on the galactic radar. Now those are some human underdogs I can root for.

Best to treat single-player as 'solo multiplayer' + a couple of AI squadmates, as I suspect that is how it is playing out. Personally, I think that will work well, though I suspect your mileage may vary.

It doesn't bother me. At the moment I have to reason to play multiplayer. I only played it for a few hours when ME3 came out just to raise my galactic readiness You missed out. Getting new races and trying out their skillsets was a blast and massive fun, kept me playing MP for a long time

Getting new races and trying out their skillsets was a blast and massive fun, kept me playing MP for a long time Except the randomness factor artificially lengthened it for the wrong reasons (i.e. Kept getting 20 Human soldier cards on the "Premium Spectre packs" for every N7 Destroyer card, or stupid ammo mods 9/10 times). Still haven't maxed out my weapon manifest because of this bullshit.

You missed out. Getting new races and trying out their skillsets was a blast and massive fun, kept me playing MP for a long time So? Indeed. I did try out MP when we were forced to do it for an ending. It was dull. Just running around a map shooting stuff. No story. No motivation. No dialogue. Just pwning space zombies with strangers.

Just pwning space zombies with strangers. I did the same. I only played it to raise my galactic readiness to 100%. Only took a few hours. That was a day after the game was released. Haven't touched it since. I never played DAI multiplayer.

Getting new races and trying out their skillsets was a blast and massive fun, kept me playing MP for a long time For someone like me, who has never been great at combat, I don't find MP as fun. I feel more like I'm dragging the overall effort of others down by my poor showing. Hence, I like SP where I can play at my own level and the only one suffering from my bad skills is me.

You should give ME3 mp a try it can be fun you should play bronze the easiest difficulty in mp. you shouldn't feel like you let the team down for doing bad because most other people who play bronze are chill or new to mp. most people won't judge you in bronze either in my experience.

- ("you’ll also receive rewards you can use in the single-player campaign") They're trying to lure as many people as possible into the mp by making it appealing for players that only care for sp. It's the mode that generates money for them. (microtransactions) This is precisely the reason why... Honestly I'm just hoping that there won't be any BS that hinder's playtime like ME 3's Galatic Readiness or DAI's War Table Missions. Also I'm cool being able to unlock Item's/Gear for the SP because me and my ME3 MP Crew will no doubt be playing the MP and just shooting the shit so I'm cool with this.

That's exactly how I feel. When DAI provided new dragon themed Skyhold decorations that REQUIRED beating a MP match against a dragon, (despite, you know, having an Inquisitor who PERSONALLY KILLED ALL TEN DRAGONS ALREADY! I was freaking ashamed at having to join up and be carried through those matches. It took two days and I never went back. It did help endear me to Bioware, let me tell you

How dare you break the trope of only humans being the hero in a sci-fi story! I really loved it that in MP you could play as an alien! If the host has to be a Ryder, that's even more incentive for me to pug, though fingers crossed they sort of ghost issue, and have as little penalties as they have now for the casual player (unlike the DA).

Thought about this for a while. They already said the mp won't affect sp so hopefully they don't do another ME3 nonsense. That was meh. As for this... I'm thinking that as long as the rewards are not "op" we're good. I'm worried more about the frequency of these missions... As a very ocd completionist in rpg games, I hope you won't get the "pop-up" every 5 seconds... I want to be able to do sp missions and dialogues and stuff, without feeling guilty or feeling that I'm missing out on a lot of stuff by not taking every single strike mission that pops up...

So, those with friends get better rewards. Is this fair? Do these rewards give you a leg up when playing SP ( ie: level up faster)?
No, I don't think it is fair to get sp rewards, xp, and/or currency faster for playing mp. They should only give mp-specific rewards faster for playing mp. I shouldn't be stuck with a grind if I want to play sp.

Have very little to trust their word. After all, Gamble claimed "All endings are accessible without MP" during vanilla ME3 (Shepard's breath scene required MP since BioWare fucked up the war asset distribution).

I suppose that I need to get back online to take on strike missions with fellow elite operatives. I'm glad I invest tons of time into both SP and MP, not just one or the other.

Hm... Bio will milk this game with two DLC's at least. If the game is well accepted a DLC about finding one of the lost ARKs that can lead into a second game makes sense to me. There may also be a DLC about the Nexus arrival with dad Ryder as the protagonist.
It's all about EA making money.

I know that but I was saying that I hope BWare doesn't put out alot of Armor/Weapon Packs like ME2 & ME3 i'm good with squadmate Appearance packs just not the overflow of Weapon/Armor Packs.I want Story Dlc thats the same quality of Lotsb & Citadel.
