Actually a humanoid robot that has sexual traits is a little less ridiculous than non-artificial, evolved-in-their-own-planetary-conditions aliens that look exactly like human women. Sure, there's such a thing as convergent evolution; but still, having everything (...ahem...) exactly where it should be is quite a strain on the old 'suspension of disbelief'.

I feel like a lot of it is due to the precedent set by Gene Roddenberry, though.
