Geralt is one of the best multi-faceted protagonists in gaming.....just because something isn't BioWare level customisable doesn't make it bad, sometimes a more focussed narrative that's afforded simply because of a creative decision to go with a set main character is the bee's knees. If you truly think The Witcher 3 is an 'average tier' RPG....well shit mate, I don't really know what to say on that front. On a side note, Geralt looks pretty fantastic for a ~100 year old Witcher if you ask me: The White Wolf's been ashen haired since the trial of grasses I think also, it's no old age generic white hair Well the game managed to keep my interest for 50-60 hrs so far. Not half-bad. The game does some things rather well, others not so. I have found that these other things are important to me. I see you've managed to pull yourself together correctamundo and play one of the greatest western RPGs ever made. Fantastic.

I find these games give a great amount of customization to the player, which really lends itself to BioWare levels of custom RP feels. Games like Pillars of Eternity, Divinity: Original Sin, Wasteland 2 and even the older ones like Divinity DKS and Divine Divinity might be up your alley too

Would you say that what makes a good movie is also subjective? That one can say Transformers is better than The Godfather and that's valid? If they think it is sure. I'll raise an eyebrow at it but I'm not going to be judgmental. If they prefer Transformers and think Godfather is not a good movie then that's them. Anyway, this isn't a Godfather vs Transformers question it is a Godfather vs Deer hunter.

Oh, have they introduced character customisation? Am I still stuck being an old gray haired witcher? More than one choice of voice? Choice of gender? More interesting weapon choices than a sword and a silver sword (admittedly I have used a lot of axes) Party companions? No? Then I guess it's still just average tier. Geralt is one of the best multi-faceted protagonists in gaming.....just because something isn't BioWare level customisable doesn't make it bad, sometimes a more focussed narrative that's afforded simply because of a creative decision to go with a set main character is the bee's knees. The humor in Larian RPGs is next level, brilliant devs all round To be honest I've never found Geralt to be an interesting character until Witcher 3. I kind of know what you mean, in TW1 he was a very blank slate, TW2 he was starting to warm up but in TW3 he really came into his own as a extremely likeable, flawed and real hero. Joy/Anger/Love/Laughter/Sadness....he showed a full array of emotions in TW3 that took 3 games to emerge.

Not for me. I'm looking forward to seeing Kratos in the new God of War game. There are other games I'm sure that will catch my interest if MEA fails. I'm not worried I find most games lose my attention rather quickly. The only games I've been able to stick to these past few months have been Fallout 4 and Destiny (primarily because I play with friends). I have Dishonored 2 but it hasn't really grabbed me yet, and I'm about to get back in TW3 but again for some reason it isn't hooking me in like I'd hoped. I'm actually one of those folks that really truly hates God of War. I tried, but I prefer to just have Kratos die and turn it off. οH kaisershep! a familiar face!

I just finished propably my last Mass Effect I-III playtrough (giving my own first name to Shepard for the first and last time) and I would say that Andromeda might be a disappointment because nothing really compares the Shepard story. I think ME:A was in big trouble from the beginning when trying to avoid all the ending consequenses and leaving Milky Way. Well, I still pre-ordered, because Bioware means quality; not a single title has really truly disappointed me. (Playing since Baldur's Gate.) Can't see myself ever stop playing the trilogy unless all of a sudden the games stopped working I enjoy playing them too much.

I'm still sitting on the fance as to whether this game will be ok, or if it will be utter rubbish. Sadly the ending to ME3 cannot and will not be forgotten. With that ending came the end to any kind of replay value of the series - unless you take ME1 as a standalone which I do.

I've also heard a rather nasty rumor that MEA will only run at 720p on XB and 900p on PS4.
This tells me the frostbite engine is garbage if true.

but Battlefront runs on PS4 at 900p does it not? Yes. Battlefront runs at 60FPS, however. Andromeda aiming for a higher resolution with a lower framerate is to be expected, since it's an RPG and not a competitive shooter.

If I remember correctly there were plenty who said DAI will bomb horribly and and the likes of "omgawd look at that pixel... literally garbage... won't buy... won't play" and yet the game did quite well. My point is have your opinions and worries and speculation, but chill with the doomsayer stuff. It doesn't start discussions or debates, it only makes people laugh at you And yes the op title shows obvious and silly bias so don't try to backtrack please As for the topic at hand, as flimsy as it is, I don't see how this could bomb. Unless they go for absurdly bad writing (like the ME3 ending) and similar nonsense, the game will probably be a big success. There's plenty of reasons for that it's not just speculation.

I'm tired of the fucking Witcher 3 if I'm honest I am so tired of hearing about that game... The same here. I tried to like The Witcher 2 but it was so boring and what his name was so stupid of a character that it pretty much killed any interest I might have had to play the rest of the game or it's extremely over-hyped sequel. I will gladly take DA:I and ME:A over any of The Witcher games.

Bioware's games do so as long as that continues to be the case I'll always support them

I'm tired of the fucking Witcher 3 if I'm honest Gonna have to get used to it. As far as WRPG's go it was the definitive one of this generation so far. Don't expect it to be forgotten about so easily. It didn't beat Last of Us record of awards for nothing. The voice acting, the writing, the sidequest, challegging combat everything was brilliant, and to those that call it overhyped that's a bit unfair. We haven't had that many great rpg's this generation, it deserves the hype. Overhyped would be Fallout 4. I still liked it, but it was the most disapointing game of this generation so far for me. It's like Bethesda wasn't even trying especially after dropping Nuka World. Terrible dlc. In Fallout 4's defense, I have gone back to it more than I have DAI atleast. Mods helped a lot with that, though. As for the topic at hand. I'm hoping it's atleast better than DAI. DAI was a huge improvement over DA2, but it was still no Origins. To this day i've only played through Inquisition twice to completion and every time I try to go back to it I can't go longer than 2 hours as i'm instantly turned off by it's MMO-esque combat. It's just so bad. It really was like playing an offline mmo. What i'm really hoping is that Andromeda doesn't become shallow like DAI. DAI boasted some beautiful locales, but all of them were pretty much empty and filled with uninspired fetch quest. Please video game gods don't let this be Andromeda. Oh no more broken classes either please. Fallout 4 & Inquisition on their hardest difficulty was cake because you become a god in Fallout 4 relatively early (they also gave you power armor every 5 minutes). In DAI most of the classes were broken to the point you didn't even need a party to solo the whole game especially Knight Enchanter (even after nerf) and Reaver. Bethesda & Bioware could learn a thing or two about balanced classes and perks.

Mods helped a lot with that, though. I gotta hand it to Bethesda - while Fallout 4 wasn't even close to New Vegas, it was leaps and bounds better than Fallout 3. I was super-disappointed in their DLC lineup though. Far Harbor was amazing and felt like a taste of what to come, but then they just released meaningless workshop stuff and Nuka World, a DLC with a premise so uninteresting that I've yet to muster the motivation to play it. I just hope Obsidian will get to make another Fallout game using Fallout 4 assets. New Vegas was so fucking good.

But each section of the park has a theme and all of them are one big reference to a classic popular film. That was pretty much the best thing about Nuka World. You get some good items from the gangs as well like a grenade that brings in wasteland creatures to kill your targets It's definately better than Fallout 3. I just wish a little more effort was put into the main story. I hate the entire "Where's muh baby" arc. Didn't leave a lot of room for roleplay. You gotta hand it to them though on the factions. Well.....not all of them. Minutemen were just thrown together, and i'm pretty sure they only existed to teach the player how to use the settlement system. Brotherhood of steel & Institute but especially Brotherhood of steel were exceptionally well written. Danse had a great arc, even though they botched it. Far Harbor was well done. The entire game should've been like it
