Its still a bit strange that its about 50 days until release and we still don't know what the premise of the story is about. Thats leaving it super late. About too late now for people that don't follow mass effect to find out what its about. I mean we know they travel to andromeda between ME2 and ME3 to establish colonies on the golden worlds of the helios cluster and they run into something called the Kett an the remnant. The remnant have vaults. Does anyone else know anything about the main story thats confirmed. Why are we fighting the kett? What are the stakes etc?? With the other mass effect games, we knew the general story way before launch. EXPLORATION! That's all you need to know, now buy a copy!

With the other mass effect games, we knew the general story way before launch. It seems that BioWare wanted to take the Fallout 4 approach of not telling us a whole lot pre-launch. I can understand not wanting to tell us too much about the story, but I would like to see some more gameplay. What we have in even that area right now is pretty minimal, and there are no spoilers in seeing more of how the combat plays out.

Agreed, and while it was successful on the marketing side for Bethesda - it did not impress that many, it was so much similar to FO3 story and just lame in my opinion, I hope it will not be the case with MEA

But that's not the Fallout 4 approach. Fallout 4 showed more about the game when it was announced 6 months before it was launched than Andromeda so far. It's possible, although I believe not likely, that EA decided to change Andromeda's marketing plan after they saw the success of Fallout 4. This cannot be proved on way or the other. But they certainly didn't change it to one similar to Fallout 4's. If anything, they changed to ME3's.. Which is to show nothing for a long time and then pretty much start the marketing 2 months before the game comes out.

At least older games had some cinematics/conversations even for such quests, also they often was not only fetch quests, I mean at first they seam like ''normal'' fetch quests but later they turned to something more interesting, that was the case mostly in DAO and ME1 for some of such quests. Also just because fetch quests was before MMO's does not mean I have to like them in any games Ah I remember those Baldur's Gate quests ~ the good old days... - Fetch Firebead's Scroll
- Fetch Phlydia's Book
- Fetch Fuller's bolts
- Fetch Hull's Sword
- Fetch the Antidote for Dreppin's Cow
- Kill 5 rats in Reevor's warehouse.
People forget how well written the quests were in these old games compared to the rubbish we get now
(ok, there were great stories too, but nostalgia plays tricks because expectations were different)

Yes, ok, Noober and Larry, Darryl & Darryl... Games have always balanced main plot with some filler, Baldur's Gate was a better example in its day and the Hinterlands was a more tiresome example in its. Will we one day get nostalgic for Druffy the Druffalo?

As for the topic I am not worry really, I got the feeling that this game is going to be good. It is probably the best of DA:I and DA2 with ME3 gameplay.

You know you are right. The game is giving off a very DA 2 + DA I vibe. The depth of DA 2 yet the size of DA I. All the close family thing with the Ryders being the "emigrants" in a new world. Also the size of the party and gender balance seems similar to DA2, which is a good sigh, there is no need for more than six companions. Even the music feel good and hopeful, the design of everything is simple and slick. The environments look colorful and expansive like DA:I, with probably nice boss battle and a lot of exploration. My main concern is actually the CC, since DA:I had the option for different type of bodies with the races. I was hoping for more in ME:A, like fat and muscle sliders but not holding my breath.

(love your avatar btw) I have said that ME A reminds me of a cross between DA 2 and Stargate Universe. In tone and given everything we have heard about. A much greater focus on character then in say....well DA I...and much smaller focus and you get the feeling that these people are underdogs unprepared for the challenges they are going to be facing in Andromeda (like Universe)

Hum now that you mention, it kinda looks like Stargate Atlantis and yes it seem to be a more close to heart experience, not really a space opera.

The only thing they have in common is that both are humanoid and the Angaran have tentacles similar to the Twi'Lek lekku, but even then they are a different length and number.

Apart from the now disappointing look of the kett to the angaran i wonder what else bioware has cooked up for us......
