I don't think it will bomb because if has the Mass Effect name attached to it. It will sell due to that alone.
From what I've seen so far though if this wasn't called Mass Effect this wouldn't be on my radar.
Unless they show more I'm going to wait on reviews.

You are spreading misinformation. Both EA and Bioware have called DA:I's launch the most successful in Bioware's history. As in Bioware's most successful game. You dont understand how business works. I am BioWare....I sell my company to EA..EA owns me....the games I make, have to make EA its money back. It doesnt. Twice in a row. I lost EA 100 million dollars. EA is nice enough 2 give me 1 more chance. Guess what I need 2do for EA? I don't think any Bioware game made EA lose money. Even DA2, which sold less then DAO and DAI, was still a success for EA because it was made with just one year of development and a minor budget then other games. Bioware's reputation took a hit in the last years (although it's not only EA's fault but their own as well, despite was you claimed in other posts) but the game were all successful financially wise. There are plenty of criticism to be made about Bioware without going on nonsense like this.

Way, way simplified for those people who don't understand how adult business works: I give you money= you make me a game that makes my money back plus profits. if it does not / when it does not make my money back, I will fire you and your whole team. And by the way, I still own the name of your company, so i will do whatever i want to do with it whenever I want. Friends? <-------------EA....It's in the game.

Dragon Age: Inquisition captivated fans and critics worldwide as it launched in November, and it
quickly became the most successful launch in BioWare history. More than 113 million hours have already been spent exploring the depth and detail of the single-player experience in Dragon Age: Inquisition, and more players are joining each day. Named “Game of the Year” by 32 media outlets around the world, including IGN, Game Informer and the Associated Press, Dragon Age: Inquisition is a true masterpiece from the team at BioWare and a game that is sure to be played for a long time to come. excellent cash generation and earnings. This extraordinary performance was led by FIFA 15, Madden NFL 15 and Dragon Age: Inquisition. In particular,
Dragon Age: Inquisition had by far the most successful launch in BioWare’s history, exceeding
our expectations.

I'm tired of the fucking Witcher 3 if I'm honest and FACT: on subsequent playthroughs tw3 loses alot of its glamour unlike Da:I in which you can play as nother inquisitor with another voice actor and PAY ATTENTION to war table missions and quests in the various zones. FOr me Inquisition is way more playable than tw3. i ve beaten them twice and i currently am on my 3rd playthroughof inquisit n.

Also, DAI's approach is the best approach. It turned out great. A lot of people would disagree. I thought Inquisition was pretty forgettable. It was basically 80 hours of fetch quests. no its not. its 250 hours of a great game. if you bother reading war table (as a roleplaying experice that actually TIES to the story-narration) and various side quests you would see it. the problems it has lie elsewhere, no game is perfect.

I may be in the minority but I'm enjoying BW's approach to marketing this time around. I felt DA:I showed us too much in terms of characters and locations. If they showed us some extended gameplay and maybe a reveal of Liam and Cora I'd be satisfied.

DA:I may provide a more customizable player character, but that alone isn't worth slugging through another 80 to 100 hours of boredom. Completing DA:I felt like chore to me, the first time I've ever felt that way with a Bioware game. The party members and the main quests were interesting, but they only accounted for a small portion of the game, and most of the rest was dull. For every minute spent on a main quest or interacting with companions, probably an hour was spent gathering elfroot, closing rifts, or collecting shards. The reason The Witcher 3 was mentioned so often on the BSN was that both Bioware and CD Projekt Red were known for RPGs with a strong focus on story & characters, but with the third chapter of a popular series (Dragon Age & The Witcher) they opted for a partially open-world approach. Bioware largely failed in the attempt. They produced a game that was pretty to look at but devoid of interesting content, the side quests as boring as the lifeless NPCs inhabiting them. The story was all too often was delivered through notes and letters found on the ground rather than through dialogue and character interaction. In contrast The Witcher 3's world was never dull, the game's side quests populated by characters and stories as interesting as anything on the main path. Both companies had similar development goals, but CD Projekt Red produced a much better game.

Really? You think this game is going to suck? You realize this is BioWare's last real shot to knock one out of the park right? Especially after the failure that was Dragon Age: Inquisition..... Cuz if they don't...most likely EA will can all of them. Betchur ass they busted all of their asses into making this one of the best games they have ever produced. For them, this is it...do or die time. I think they'd be quite happy with another Game Of The Year winning failure like Dragon Age Inquisition... Seriously though, I think BioWare are well aware of tweaks they could build on from that, and it's quite nice to have this salt thread, keeps things tidy

It's actually a very interesting fact with a shocking amount of game titles that just decided to release GOTY versions simply because they could. It's a really good Google. I suggest all of you guys check it out.

Dear OP I'm a fan of TW as the next guy and really like CDPR gaming design and "philosophy". However starting a thread in a Bioware fan forum, implying that the game will fail hard and praising a game of a direct competitor is not a very polite and smart thing to do. We don't know yet if the game will fail. Personally I don't think that is going to be the case, personally I have good vibes with what we have seen so far. Let's remain cautiously optimistic or at least neutral towards it. Time will tell and IF critics are to be made please refrain from appearing a TW fanboy because most of the people would stop taking your critics seriously. If there is something you think TW did better then say so but without blindly praising that game.
Written from someone who enjoyed TW1,2,3 and played the heck out of them.

I forget, exactly how many video game failures have ever received Game of the Year editions simply because they felt like it? It's actually a very interesting fact with a shocking amount of game titles that just decided to release GOTY versions simply because they could. It's a really good Google. I suggest all of you guys check it out. I think he was referring to the fact DAI won most GOTY that year, not the GOTY edition. Yep, that was the 'winning' part. The 134 GOTY picks makes DAI by any objective assessment a huge success. In reality the game isn't perfect and we could probably argue about whether it was a weaker gaming year, but you'll struggle to find the game described as a 'failure' other than on the pages of BSN

Andromeda is having a similar marketing to Dragon Age 2. That game also was very afraid to show gameplay and we all saw how it turned out. Andromeda can follow the very same road.
