The funny thing is that those people crapping all over the game are going to buy it, play the shit out of it, and romance "ugly" Cora using "plastic" Scott. Or, they'll play Sara for the lesbian scenes. Yes, I think that little of them. All bluster but still paying the money and still romancing the people they think are horrible. To Bioware this is probably how they see those people:

It's moreso their attitudes in general, crapping on pretty much everything out there except a few games for a while until they shit on them and find something new to love. A lot of forums are like that now. It's gross. I'm not gonna say Andromeda isn't deserving of any skepticism or criticism, but there's a lot of negativity towards the game that's so overblown. I think moreso than your typical AAA game. blame me3 and remember that BioWare closed down the official forums which can be interpreted as a preemptive move to cut down criticism akin to ME3 one. They aren't exactly on a winning streak with their games.

You can close down as many forums as you want, if you don't show your game and what you show isn't good then people will have negative feelings about it. And that's what happening with Andromeda.

You're right. I was thinking of buying this game, but without gameplay demos at this point I am now going to head off into the Irish Ocean in a coracle and rethink my priorities in life. I suggest we all do that.

I'd say that it's a good thing. Those who won't buy and STILL hate it seem much worse to me. E.g. I know a witcher fanboy who hates DAI just on principle, he had never played it. I can't call myself a hater, but my scepticism only grows with each trailer. So far they had given me zero reasons to be hyped and\or interested. The very-very first 'Ryders in the sky' trailer had been the most exciting, and those Hale\Meer vids were nice too, but now? I don't know. I can't put my finger on it, but it's not working. I remember how I've been waiting for DAI, how I was VPNing on the day 1 to get an English version of the game. I've been looking to see more of the Thedas and more of the characters. MEA? I'm trying really-really hard looking for reasons, but I still dont't care. I...just can't. I could suppose that it's just me, getting older and colder etc, but my feelings for Dishonored 2 are still too fresh. Watching the trailers, downloading the OST, preordering, counting hours to unlock... So, apparently I'm still capable of being ovreexcited and hyped about the video-game release. How come that one of the most significant gaming titles in my life, made by a loved studio does not trigger a damn thing?! I know that I'm going to play it eventually, just to see everything for myself. Might not even wait for the discount. Sometimes miracles happen. E.g. I had not been expecting anything at all from 'Rogue One', like anything at all. I was not even going to watch it, but it turned out to be one of the best SW movies I've seen, comparable to the original 456, a worthy prequel, not a shitty spin-off. I can only hope that MEA is going to have it something like that. The bright side of being sceptical is that it's hard to become even more disappointed, but anything good is going to be a nice surprise.

You didn't like Dishonored 2? I still think the original Dishonored is better, but I thought D2 was a fantastic sequel, and Emily a million times a better character than Corvo. Kudos on Rogue One by the way. I was expecting to be so disappointed and underwhelmed by that film. Felicity Jones' awful acting aside, Rogue One proved the exact opposite for me. I loved it. It's my second fave SW film after Empire.

I feel like what they've shown so far has been pretty good. I mean the gun scene with Sara in the VGA trailer was kinda cringe, but everything else has felt pretty in line with the writing quality and presentation of the series, since ME2. I'm not exactly sure what people were expecting. It's Mass Effect, and it looks like Mass Effect, so I think we all know what we're getting into. The writing doesn't feel bad to me either. I'm not saying it's great, but again, the style of writing they seem to be going for is par for the course with Bioware games since ME2, back in 2010. We can talk til the cows come home about the writing, but all I know is the writing in Citadel DLC wasn't great either, but goddamn did it succeed in entertaining the hell out of me, and giving me plenty of feels. That's really where Bioware's strengths have always come in, were their characters and hitting you with emotional moments.

Yeah, I feel any criticisms at the moment about what little writing and dialogue we have heard from the trailers, are indirectly also critical of ME2's writing, since it is a very similar tone and level to what ME2 had. I mean in terms of dialogue and writing, ME2 and Andromeda aren't far off IMO. It ain't going to win the Pulitzer or Oscar for best screenplay, but then do people really want/expect that from a Mass Effect game?

I mean really, why do they have to show tons of gameplay and huge trailers months and months before the game releases anyway? You only need to get people excited right before release. If they really roll out the marketing beginning of February, that gives over a month and half of trailers and gameplay to get people interested. Since they want our money months and months before the the game releases.

You didn't like Dishonored 2? I still think the original Dishonored is better, but I thought D2 was a fantastic sequel, and Emily a million times a better character than Corvo. Why, no! I absolutely loved it! ~40 hours as Emily, ~25 hours as Corvo. The way they've made the PTs feel so different following the same script is amazing. Something to learn from. I gave it as 'the evidence', that I'm not a hopeless and bored old lady (not just yet, lol). With all those many years of gaming, I'm still getting excited and hyped about the releases...just not about this one. No matter how hard I try.

Well I myself am still excited for Andromeda, significantly more so than I was for Dishonored 2, but that's because i enjoy the ME games more than I do Dishonored. Yes though the Dishonored 2 playthrough variety is great, even more so now with New Game +. Still absolutely loving The Clockwork Mansion and A Crack in the Slab levels. They are ingeniously crafted.

You're here on a forum dedicated to the game talking about it months in advance of its release. People who don't care don't do that. I don't know exactly why you feel the way you do, but it's not because you don't care, that much is certain.

Troll tread or not, I am concerned that there is mo multi-player beta. Seems like they would want some feedback considering how close the release date is.

I think Bioware has attracted this crowd of defeatists who see everything they do through shit-colored glasses. That story trailer they just released was pretty great, so it's a great litmus test to detect these defeatists.
