Mass Effect Andromeda Skepticism thread

I liked the intro. Shit animations though. 

To me, it would appear that what happened with NMS has changed some people's buying habits. I know it changed mine a whole lot.

if you actually preordered nms then you are impulsive, and therefore low IQ. I knew NMS was a scam the first time i saw the trailer on the vga's. 

he also understands the value of armchair quarterbacking.

We are all armchair quarterbacks.  It's what we do, post on a forum about what makes video games good or bad.

but some of us are so much better at it then others.

This is going to be the new "Drinks are on me" trope. "I've been waiting 600 years for this!", "Man, I haven't felt this good in over a hundred years, right bro?"

I also heard from the IGN preview (3 hours of gameplay) that the game is very "bro". There is a night-club on Kadara that literally plays Trap-music. I also read those Glassdoor reviews where one disgruntled Montréal employee complained there was too much "Bro culture" at BioWare. This is something that is generally happening to game developers of the current generation, so in the context of BioWare meaning the most recent staff. I study at a special sort of college for video-game programming and company-startups right now, and I tell you, the 18-year-olds there are all Marvel geeks and every line ends with "bro" and every now and then they're talking about something that's cool because it has a "sick drop" in it.

So I think Andromeda will be the first step into BioWare: Generation Bro-duder.

Remember how many times Gamble and Co. kept talking about "shooting things in the face"? Yeah, #NotMyMassEffect

I expect the bromance with Liam to be natural and endearing, but it's more the notion of having Trap music and the having a biotic combo squad in fast paced jetpack combat. I mean... think about the overall tone of all these trailers. I found it obnoxious since day 1 with all the excessive cuts and BOOM noises for realtively simple action.

But is it more Mass Effect 3 "Mass Effect" or more ME1 "Mass Effect"? That's the question (we know it's 3 and a bit of Dragon Age writing staff over it and Luke and Mac who were the only ME1 guys)
