I'm amazed that people were expecting or hoping for ME:A to be more like ME1's quieter and more hard sci-fi approach. I was merely pointing out that the so-called "Mass Effect game will be Mass Effect" is not universal for all 3 games in the trilogy

"Great to see you're awake. It feels like it's been centuries since we spoke." - Cora Harper This is going to be the new "Drinks are on me" trope. "I've been waiting 600 years for this!", "Man, I haven't felt this good in over a hundred years, right bro?" I also heard from the IGN preview (3 hours of gameplay) that the game is very "bro". There is a night-club on Kadara that literally plays Trap-music. I also read those Glassdoor reviews where one disgruntled Montréal employee complained there was too much "Bro culture" at BioWare. This is something that is generally happening to game developers of the current generation, so in the context of BioWare meaning the most recent staff. I study at a special sort of college for video-game programming and company-startups right now, and I tell you, the 18-year-olds there are all Marvel geeks and every line ends with "bro" and every now and then they're talking about something that's cool because it has a "sick drop" in it. So I think Andromeda will be the first step into BioWare: Generation Bro-duder. Remember how many times Gamble and Co. kept talking about "shooting things in the face"? Yeah, #NotMyMassEffect I'm not really sure what this means. Generations have different slang, yep. What of it? And what sort of music should that nightclub play?

But is it more Mass Effect 3 "Mass Effect" or more ME1 "Mass Effect"? That's the question (we know it's 3 and a bit of Dragon Age writing staff over it and Luke and Mac who were the only ME1 guys) To be fair, it will also include ME1's pointless driving around and poor pacing.

I'm amazed that people were expecting or hoping for ME:A to be more like ME1's quieter and more hard sci-fi approach. I was merely pointing out that the so-called "Mass Effect game will be Mass Effect" is not universal for all 3 games in the trilogy I figured, I just meant it in general. If the new team wants to go for a more Guardians of the Galaxy approach with the tone of ME:A, I'm perfectly fine with that. When Mass Effect became more of a high octane space adventure series starting with ME2, it worked. I would also add the best part of ME3, was the Citadel DLC, when you were going on a lighthearted adventure and "bro-ing" up with you crew. That's not to say Tuchanka and Rannoch weren't great, but the point I'm making is that New Bioware (aka EA Bioware), are better suited towards the more lighthearted personal approach to storylines. When New Bioware tries to be deep, serious, and thought provoking, they're very hit or miss. I'll always prefer their old style of writing because DA:O and ME1 were imo the best in their respected series, but I also happen to like this new style too. So I've accepted a long time ago, that we just aren't going to get that old style writing anymore. Hell even when Bioware still had the talent capable of crafting such games, they couldn't under EA's regime. To be fair though, it's easier for me to accept New Bioware writing, because I can get my fix on great writing from CDProjektRed at this point. If CDProjektRed weren't around, I'd probably miss Old Bioware more.

Sure, if you threw away a lot of the content. And ME:A will probably have good pacing if you do that too.
Hell, you could do that with DAI if you don't mind playing a bit underlevelled.

The classy sci-fi feeling the series had was already destroyed in ME3. It can't get any worse than the ME3 intro or Earth being a gears of war mission.

Weren't the final missions in ME1 and ME3 pretty much identical? Both are long combat slogs.

It was destroyed within the first 15 minutes of ME2: All you need are 'resources" to raise someone from a very splattered death via planetary re-orbit.

Are you saying you wouldn't make comments about the fact you've been asleep for 600 years like that? I would. I would laugh it up until it became annoying, and then keep doing it for the sake of irony. Are you being serious right now with all this? I'm convinced you're actually a crotchety old man.

The part about the Energy Tree got a laugh out of me. Since he's covering some of the 13 min thing. View if you want, avoid if you don't want to see spoilers.

Read the comments below the vid and look @ this game how pathetic BioWare is becoming. What a damn shame.... Reading youtube comments about anything, be it pepperoni pizza or the importance of breathing in the daily life of humanity, is never a real indication of anything other than the fallacious statements and stupidly mankind has to offer. Have you even looked @ them? The people were not impressed @ this game at all and if I we're BioWare I'll take criticism seriously.

That's silly. DAI wasn't much like previous Bio games. Like it, don't like it, but they weren't just doing the same thing over and over. And while ME:A will be, maybe, a bit like DAI in some aspects, it'll be far different in others. And "appease EA by focusing on marketing " is just gibberish. Slandering. Wow.

Upon closer examination of this new Mass Effect game, it turns out it's pretty much still a Mass Effect game. Shocking, I know. "They're not mistakes, they're features!" "There was no mistake, it still serves its purpose!"

I think, at the core of it all, I just don't want to be "Pants on Head" disappointed again.
At least I have my epic Dune series to light the way.
I still think I really haven't made peace with that ending. But Ill try to get to the end of ME2 before the other game drops. I think Ill just go with things that make me laugh.

Anyway my only worry is that the enemies won't be tough. With all the powers in the game available to you sooner or later and a jetpack that gives you a doublejump I don't know how these enemies can compete with the player apart from bulletsponges and instakills. Oh yeah and we have companions...
