I've posted there a couple of times - ages ago - and had no problems, but I've seen some...interesting exchanges.  Not saying it is representative of the whole forum community there, but let's just say a number of them make that Brevnau* guy look like he's onto something.

* If you don't know who Brevnau is, he was a troll poster on the old BSN who said Cassandra and Josephine looked like men "because science"

I don't know they are any less friendly. I visit their forums every now and then and they seem perfectly okay people. No dudebros that I can recall. Maybe they gave up and left a long time ago; those aren't the most active forums either. That may be why olnorton didn't get any help modding; or it may be just that TW3 is practically impossible to mod, as I understand it.

The Waifu Wars seemed to have died down by the time I got there, and the mods now are weary of any Yen versus Triss discussion and watch those that pop up closely. From what I have seen, the issue was discussions as to whether Yen's a bitch (she is) and her relationship with Geralt just the result of a wish (it isn't) or Triss was a traitor (eh... which Triss are we talking about?) which popped up everywhere. Think of it in terms of book fans who insisted on Yen as the canon romance or game only fans who argued the same for Triss. This is a generalization, of course; there were and are many exceptions. My point is, a lot of people had strong feelings, often against rather than for one of the characters.

Really, the CDPR forums just strike me as a smaller version of the BSN, which isn't surprising since like I have said before the two fan bases have a lot in common. On the Triss versus Yen discussion I only have one thing further to add: Ciri is Geralt's daughter, and Triss calls her "little sister." This would make Triss Geralt's...

Getting to the Isle of Mists was pretty boring to me.

I made it more interesting by avoiding all the sirens.

Guys, I totally knew she wasn't dead.

But the grieving scene was so superb I cried anyway.

That, and emotional baiting by the devs. Doesn't matter. That scene is one of my favorite in any game. 

My brain was making that connection too. It could have been anyone in that house but it was dwarves.

In other news, My review of Kaer Morhen leaves me feeling like I' have too few allies. Sigi's money would have been useful to patch the place up but I'm also surprised the Wild Hunt is even giving us time to prepare. They know where Ciri Teleported to and they can telelport jsuast as quickly.

Who to assign to the lab? I've never used a Witcher's Trap. And potions are useful, but how would they do against the Hunt?

Sigh. Feels like I'm preparing the keep in Awakening but I didn't shell out the money for good stone.

I went with traps and repairing the wall. 

The anxiety build up is excellent. 

Yennifer is super impressive with her big barrier! Wow! Makes me think I picked the right sorceress
