The MEA game ratings thread (ESRB rating description)

You seem emotionally invested in ridding the world of emotion. If you started with your own then you'd lack the impetus to care one way or another if the rest of us enjoy ours. Then we wouldn't have to read such nonsense. I think everyone wins.

Disagree. You have to take it as a whole. Its like saying the first 1/3 of a book is good and the rest sucks.

I will say at the outset that I disagree with your viewpoint. I will also say, however, that I will not dismiss your viewpoint. I would argue that exterminating emotion could lead to calamities worse than those caused by emotion. You may then argue (and I'm not putting words in your mouth specifically, but providing context for my stance) that negative, destructive emotions such as jealousy, greed, overweening ambition/pride are not balanced by the more positive emotions such as compassion and charity, and you (the hypothetical you, not you specifically) may well be right. I, however, would argue that removing all emotion may improve conditions on earth, although I doubt it, but it would be the worst way of trying to improve conditions.

I would argue that attempting to control your emotions, focus your efforts on the positive ones, leads to better results in the end. Of course, in many ways I'm an idealist, with a realist bent. I'm actively raising my children to be free thinkers, with compassion for their fellows, and the ability to discern for themselves the best paths towards life, and that's all I can do outside my own life proper. I will say that my preferred ideal isn't realistic, but neither is yours (eliminating all emotion). In the face of two unrealistic options, I would prefer to advocate for what I feel would be the better option.

Of course, this discussion is entirely academic, since neither position is truly realistic, but I do enjoy discussions along these lines. I'm not attempting to persuade you to my viewpoint (arguing over the internet is the most pointless exercise known to man) but I do find such discussions entertaining.

Where are you going with this? Your prediction is obvious nonsense, and the people who disagree with you will probably break very heavily in favor of GoT, a show which manages to be both good and popular. "Good" meaning critically approved and popular meaning good ratings; I get that you don't like it.

Nudity is aviodable by not buying the game if its presence bothers someone that much (while commiting mass murdering at the same time doesn't)

So with little more that two weeks until the public gets to play Andromeda, why is the rating not out yet?  Spoilers maybe?
