Oh the nit-picking of any minuscule details that are disliked or disagreed with. I'll just say I enjoyed the trailer, mainly it has provided just enough detail and dialogue to show what I hope to be a great space opera story. The characters certainly look interesting to get to know, really can't decide between Scott/Sara as in which to play as first. I can take only as much nonsense in one sit-in, sorry. And It’s not really a matter of licking/ disliking: it’s just nonsensical. If I have to cover my eyes with ham slices to play ME:A, personally I believe something is wrong and consequently I raise a hand about it

I doubt the decision of not having weapons on the Nomad (which I'm pretty sure it's mostly gameplay in any case) and Tempest was because of lack of resources. I still think the briefing stated SAM is in Hyperion because the team and the Tempest are there. In any case, SAM isn't like EDI that it's basically the ship. It can probably be moved as the AI in ME.

SAM is the reason why the Ryder's can switch classes. I knew it wasn't some random ass "we found something in Andromeda" excuse.

The hair for Cora? Big deal. I've seen a few women with hair similar to what Cora has when I was in the military. She looks fine.

Everything was good in the trailer except Bioware cliche baddie confirmed, Michael Bay dialog and Cora's craptastic hair. Yes, Im gonna bitch about the hair until Bioware gets off this femme-butch kick. God forbid they make a character good looking AND feminine. Loved the smexy new aliens. Great character/art design overall. The switch to butch hair for women appeared with the change of game engine, so I blame that. Maybe good hair is just not something BioWare are capable of producing with Frostbite?

I'm fine with the length it's the stupid half (or quarter, or 12% or whatever the hell) shaved cut I really hate and wish would die in a fire slowly while listening to Kai Leng in one ear and the holokid in another.
If it was a normal short cut with the hair super styled one way like it is I wouldn't mind. Wouldn't be my favorite, but I could deal. Most of the female romances in TOR actually land on the shorter side of hairdo's (Mako, Nadia, Risha- Kira and Elara are probably pushing it as the former's covers her ears and the latter's in a bun)

We were using a QEC in ME2 before the departure of the AI. In ME2, the only QEC was on board the SR2. Only with ME3 it becomes a somehow widespread tech, but still it was the stuff that very few could afford (not even Liara had one as her Shadow Broker persona). And even so, it has been stated in universe every QEC works only point to point and it costs a metric ton of credits. We have the means and money to connect 7 squad members, but not the money to arm the Nomad? Or, better yet, we prefer to create a “quantum what’s up group”, but leave the rest of the AI unwired, losing half our fleet and strand ourselves in the vast unknown of the Helios cluster with no mean to ask for help on a secure channel? And let’s not talk about leaving for Andromeda without a mean to contact the Milky way at this point… Eh, we've picked 100k people and went to a different galaxy, I sincerely doubt money is the issue here. The rest is just a lot of assumptions made out of partial knowledge of what's going on.

And in ME, for Shepard, we never had long hair options in any case. Hairs look better then in DAI in any case, so it's an improvement. Hopefully we won't get a dozen of different buzzcut options.

Yay, another thread hijacked by an argument that has been going on in circles since forever! And in the meantime, they gave us another quite as evident: now that we know that SAM is embedded in our skulls, but resides on the Hyperion, they hanged themselves. How exactly would it be possible to share real time feedback with the AI when we’re light years apart from the Hyperion? This, without access to FTL communication I mean, and we lack both a comm buoys system and a quantic communicator: the former is only viable with portals to “accelerate” information along a mass free corridor, the latter was invented after the departure of the AI from the Milky Way. I suppose “Remnant nanomachine” will be (ab)used to cover up a lot of holes in Andromeda… Getting more and more concerned here. Copies residing in each team's vessel providing local comunication and services with the local copy synchronising with the main unit on any rendezvous with the Hyperion. Unreliable narrator is deceiving you. Never believe the flashy diagram they give you in the recruitment material, it always leaves out these inconvenient details. That'll be in a footnote to paragraph 38 of Annex J of volume 6 of the pathfinder procedures manual.

You said: And I replied that, in a nutshell, following, or not following the fashion trends of the masses - Haircuts - has no impact on your masculinity or femininity. As a woman, having a short haircut does not make you masculine simply because the majority of men have short haircuts. Yes the association of numbers: many dudes have short unstyled hair, many women have longer styled hair. Therefore short unstyled =manly cut, longer styled= feminine cut. Now show me how you go from that to "x or y is masculine/feminine because of haircut". It's one factor of many. One some people yes, it does make or break it. On others not so much. It depends on the individual assortment of features. But you said haircut can make women look like dudes. Not a fan of the straight up (looks like a dude) haircut in the third picture but they still look better than this half shaved shit that needs to die in a fire. And as I said, going by numbers is ridiculous. Following the trends of the masses does not make you masculine or feminine, it just makes you look average. The majority of men are overweight and untrained, yet being muscular and lean is considered masculine. So only a small part of the male population looks masculine which completely proves that numbers don't mean anything.

It's not my favorite hairstyle for a woman by any means, but she is military, yes? Makes sense then. As for the rest of her look, to be crass: "I'd tap that".

Great. I can't wait to play Mass Effect Teenage Edition.
I knew the characters would be slightly younger, but I'm turned off by these scene-kid looks. All that was missing was to give Ryder a septum piercing and it'd been perfect. We're right back to the rule-of-cool star-cast of ME2, sigh.
Also, the dialogue here ranged from interesting to the sort of cliche'd try-hard kind of writing. "We're about to change the rules!". Yeah... it's stuff like that that makes me want to NOT buy this game.

Yes, Im gonna bitch about the hair until Bioware gets off this femme-butch kick. God forbid they make a character good looking AND feminine. Loved the smexy new aliens. Great character/art design overall. God forbid they don't make a character good looking 'AND' feminine. Women in the real world aren't all good looking and feminine. And their worth should not be based on their looks and femininity. Even fictional, video game characters. This is arguably redundant anyway because one can easily argue Cora is good looking and feminine. But she has a short hairstyle so that automatically makes her butch I for one praise BioWare for choosing to be a bit more creative in how they design their characters, especially their female ones, choosing to favor different looks and appearances and styles alongside new personalities and traits, equaling that of male characters, who have historically been afforded more variety in their appearance. Yet no one makes a song and dance if Zaeed has a scar, or if Jacob wears a tight suit, or if Joker has a douchey beard or whatever. Sure, I can understand people may be disappointed, given many will want to romance Cora. But 'femme-butch'? I don't like that implication, or the sense that our reception to these characters should begin and end with what they look like.

Yeah... it's stuff like that that makes me want to NOT buy this game. The age makeup for ME A seems similar to ME 1. Tali was virtually a teenager. Liara wasn't much better. Ashley was essentially a young marine on basically her first military assignment at the time. Wrex was a very old, very wise, Krogan, which essentially leaves Kaidan and Garrus which does not fit the mold. And Garrus I do not put in there because he is questionable. At times he seems quite young and relatively new to things but we also know he is a man with military experience already and C Sec experience on top of that.

That'd leave Ryder and possibly Liam as the 'young' ones. Which we always had. In ME we had Liara and Tali. Stupid lines are always present in games. Hopefully that one is from a dialogue option.

The majority of men are overweight and untrained, yet being muscular and lean is considered masculine. So only a small part of the male population looks masculine which completely proves that numbers don't mean anything. Punctuation fail. It should've been "looks like a dude" haircut or perhaps looks-like-a-dude haircut. Or indeed perhaps just "dude haircut". I tend to put parentheses in odd places some times. Either way, "looks like a dude" was meant to modify haircut, not Anne Hathaway who is obviously feminine as fuck. And no, to your second point, a fat guy's still a guy (typically) because muscles are once again, one factor of the common image of masculinity but not it entirety. I'm not sure why you're making this like a social thing, I'm just going by common accepted perceptions. There's a buttload of physical traits that are considered masculine or feminine and it's the sum of those traits (or perhaps that plus some other quality I can't really put into words) that give you the net effect of masculine or feminine image. I'm not going to list them all right now but they're easy to ascertain. And all of those come not just from biology, but cultural and societal perceptions and norms. Which is a big useless degree* word for (in this context): numbers *And now my heartfelt apology to sociology majors that may be reading this. I'll take a double cheeseburger with fries Nah I'm just kidding, you guys are awesome!

I honestly never really liked the options for femshep in the trilogy, but it might be related to how bad hairs looked. Hopefully it'll be better in MEA CC.
