I always kinda assumed that the negative ending was designed to get a negative reaction of sorts, but they just misjudged the scale of the reaction. I would say that's a fair assumption. Not all stories have a happy ending and some people couldn't handle their Shepard ending in the way he/she did. Apparently, these people have never played D&D. <---------Has played D&D for over 20 years, thought Mass Effect's endings were awful and ruined the trilogy. Also protip: "Negative reactions" are...negative. So don't be surprised when it blows up in your face. We'll see what this trailer has to offer. BUt it'll take a LOT to put my concerns to rest.

I hope they show NOTHING regarding squadmates, locations, or other plot related details. Why? I'd love more info about ANY of these things (especially squadmates), since we've gotten little info about any. Agreed I'd at least like them to show us what Liam and Cora actually look like given we've not actually seen them or know who's providing their voices.

You will know more about Cora when you play the game. Do you truly expect Bioware to not show and reveal more of squadmates before release? Nothing about this marketing strategy thus far has been the Bioware norm. At this point in the ME2 and ME3 marketing with less than 60 days out, we knew all of the squad members along with their personality type. With some, we even knew when and how we ended up acquiring them. So no, I would not be surprised if we get to launch and there are still a number of squad members we do not know about. Even those we do know about, I would not be surprised if he didnt see them in the marketing.

Indeed I'd at least like to know who and what our squadmates are and at least an outline of what they can do to help plan the best way to take on missoins to begin with. Like fo rexample if Cora is indeed biotic as it's been suggested then I know I can use her to lay down a few shockwaves or something to send the enemy scrambling or even warp away at a few barriers or something leaving the enemy ripe for picking off. That sort of thing.

Here's some negative sentiment for you Bioware: I bet your squadmates suck. I bet they're all gross looking and lame. Especially Liam. And Cora. I bet this Jaal character is the lamest of all. And ugly. That's why your hiding them, isn't it? Well? WELL!!?? *breathes* I'm just concerned their stories have gotten even more meandering than in DA:I and that they start to feel "kiddy". I already get this vibe from the little I've seen that they're more lighthearted (not just PeeBee) and the last thing I want is a whole squad of Kasumi-DLC members. She was a mistake - an anime-fanfic character in Mass Effect and a genre-break. I hope they're worthwhile and interesting and in service of good world-building and not all there to make waifu-hype and fanart. Honestly I would have pegged Liara as the fanfic character. Kasumi is a bit too detached and lacks the romance angle to qualify.

Shinobi isn't Bioware though, so I don't know what he's referring to. I guess it might be about some complains he saw on GAF. You're assuming everyone hated, disliked or had that much problems with ME3 or its endings. A self-selection sample poll on a website known for its toxicity and negativity. Well, it's certainly hard to argue with THAT kind of empirical evidence, let me tell you.

Even so, I think it's fair to say that the general reaction to the endings was negative everywhere. The BSN may have went nuclear with ending hate, but it wasn't an anomaly. There was no place where the game was being discussed that endings weren't getting a ton of criticism. It even got panned in the TV series Silicon Valley (0:40 - 1:08): The closest thing to the reaction to ME3's endings was the reaction to the finale of the TV series Lost.

*glares at Bioware's marketing team* Perhaps they do not want to follow their old scheme where they reveal everything about the squadmates prior to launch leaving very little to discover in the game. I think people like you are finding this new style very frustrating which is fine, but I like it. But then again I prefer not to really be spoiled as I have not even watched any in game trailers nor have I watched any of the AI training videos. I will also not be watching this new video or any othet video to include the character creator video and the launch trailer.

Surely Bioware can reveal that much without spoiling too much?

I will remain skeptical of anything Bioware puts out until I see actual GP footage from your every day player. Which means after it releases. I hope they didn't take the DAI route with choices and consequences where your choices had no consequences and it was the same ending no matter what you do throughout the game even though it was hyped all along that they would matter. I agree the final mission was a huge, big fat meh, but I actually think choices mattered enough that I found joy in replaying the game twice, just not in the final mission. I did however like stuff like siding with mages vs templars and the various outcomes of the ball quest. I just felt they were building up to an epic finale where Corypheus and co. Wanted revenge and sought to destroy Skyhold putting your acquired forces and tactics to the ultimate test - it would've played better to the hero's journey of the game which was about a lucky dude/gal who got to run the most influential rogue organization in Thedas, as opposed to you being the generic hero who defeats evil in a one-on-one showdown. Really big letdown. Cemented the game as "average" in my book. Trespasser was great compensation though.

Not all stories have a happy ending and some people couldn't handle their Shepard ending in the way he/she did. Apparently, these people have never played D&D. It's a stupid assumption if you were there before EC got made. The whole premise for EC and Refuse being added was that people hated every choice and every ending offered, so to include one more ending that's even worse is just one big slap in the face considering the EC DLC was made in response to feedback.

They could just announce that, but why would they want to? It'll probably be more substantial if they revealed what the character looks like. I'm not the only one curious about our squad mates, and revealing what they look like could be an effective way of generating hype for their game. Also, why would they announce that their is seven, and still keep it a secret? To make it more effective, Bioware would reveal and announce 5 squadmates, when in reality there were two extra hidden ones as well.

By "everywhere" I assume you mean the internet? Because NONE of the people I know in real life hated the ending. One coworker even thought it was awesome. One was ok with it. Others a bit disappointed, but nobody was actually upset and certainly nobody still cares. The same people also enjoyed DAI and are very much looking forward to MEA. I, myself, was confused, then disappointed by the ending. More by the lazy color scheme execution than the implications. The ending shitstorm made me leave BSN for 2 years. It was ridiculous. So sure, the internet makes you think everybody hates something. The thing is, the internet has become a place to bitch about everything. So it's not necessarily representative of the general response by everyone who played the game. The ending was not well done. If that really bothered the majority of players? No idea. We don't know. Those who carry a grudge and now distrust Bioware are probably a tiny tiny minority, and apparently they are all here on BSN. *g*
