Who are your least favorite squadmates in the ME trilogy and why? [Pick 2]

I'm just in ME2 so can't answer about all the characters but so far I really don't like Aria. Zaeed is a really horrible person but I can't help taking him almost all the time because his fight banter is pretty funny. I'm so horrible at shooting that I think he's got a personal running dialogue on what I'm doing and once in a while, when I do something right, it's like he's praising me. Plus I go talk to him a lot, on the ship, and I think it's funny what a motor mouth he is, instead being quiet and stoic. (Disclaimer: I don't like the bad things he does)

Don't really dislike any of the characters, but if I had to choose, it'd definitely be Liara. Her fainting and the whole, "Oh, I'm so socially awkward!" thing in ME1 felt like...I dunno, forced attempts to make her look "cute". Also, I generally don't care for her characters of her archetype. (I generally like snarky characters like Javik/Garrus/Joker, or badasses like Wrex/Grunt/Zaeed.) I did like her slightly better after ME2, but eh, I still wouldn't call her my favorite character.

Mostly, I'm probably just bitter over the fact that my Renegade MaleShep got ninjamanced by Liara in ME1. There's a dialogue bug in ME1 where if you reject her in the Renegade way, the game will resume the romance (you have to reject her in the nicer, "neutral" way to avoid the romance). That MaleShep was a huge asshole towards her, so it was pretty weird. Had to start a new game+ playthrough to beat the Insanity difficulty and get the Ally trophies anyway, but still, it was pretty annoying.

Also, in ME3, if you choose mostly Paragon dialogue options with Liara, the game somehow assumes you're interested in her and act as if you guys are together during the Matriarch Aethyta conversation. Thankfully, the game rightfully assumed my Renegade MaleShep was only friends with Liara (which is still weird given how rude he was towards her in ME1, but I'll take what I can get). My Paragon FemShep who was in a relationship with Garrus, though? Aethyta called her Liara's "girlfriend". I assumed at first that Aethyta was just being snarky, until my Shepard responded to Aethyta that, "nobody messes with my girl [Liara]" (wat).

Point being, Liara's the only character who's been forced on both of my Shepards at some point because of a bug, and it doesn't help that she seems to be the established "canon romance". Blugh. But again, I don't really dislike her. If I knew her in real life, I'd probably like her as a person (assuming she doesn't try coming on to me as strongly as my Shepards lol).

As for the second character? Uh...Morinth, I guess, for obvious reasons. But I mean, I never got to know her deeply enough to really "dislike" her, either.

Aria doesn't come into play for you until ME3 and only if you have a particular DLC.  I wouldn't base your feelings about her from ME2 on how she is as a squadmate.

She's not friendly at any point but she can be reasonable and, IMO, brings some great things to the table in ME3 even outside of when you can have her as a squadmate.

Unbreakable three way tie between Zaeed, Ashley, and Jacob.

Unlike the other two, I don't find Jacob himself to be that grating, but he's just so poorly done. They just didn't get a single thing right with him besides being hot.

Honestly, I've come to realize he's not that intelligent of a guy.  He volunteers for a job in ME2 that is guaranteed to kill him, even though others are far more qualified than he.  Then, in ME3, he says he'll "walk it off" in relation to a gunshot wound?  And then wants to take on Cerberus troops and restart the AA guns without getting medical attention?  Outright stupid when Shepard is standing there with two squadmates.  Anyway, you don't have to dislike him.  I just like him less and less as I go.  That said, in two months I'll probably be too focused on MEA to have much concern for Jacob.

As for the tie, I don't see it.  I see a tie for third with Zaeed and Jacob with 4 votes but only 1 vote for Ash.  Mind you, I don't dislike Ash.  She happened to be my least favorite in ME1 but she's not my least favorite in general.  I think it would be cool to have her around, just not at the cost of Kaidan.

Liara- Still haven't gotten over how creepy it was that she moved her stuff onto the Normandy without permission...and kept going into other people's personal stuff without permission. No, I don't mind having deeply personal conversations with you while I'm in the bathroom...No, of course it's ok to pick a fight with Javik even though I kept him away from you...of course it's acceptable to air Tali's personal information in front of people just to spite her. The few times she actually keeps something confidential, it's to keep from making herself look bad, like telling Ashley/Kaidan (who might be Shepard's lover) that she gave their girlfriend/boyfriend to a terrorist organization. Or when she knew Tali had a crush on Shepard but wanted less competition.

Morinth- I'm sorry, but 300 years as an emo goth wannabe is too long to act that way.

Yep. I like Aria and Ashley because they are independent and helping Shepard without going into his ass like Tali or Liara for example. While Aria is some kind of crime lord, Ashley is veteran soldier at first place. Well developed characters like for me.

Forgot Jenkins and Wilson!  They both get the same ending, though.

I think maybe it's a good thing I didn't discover Mass Effect until 2016.  I was so far removed from any KOTOR games that it didn't immediately sink I how I knew the voice.  And by then I was pretty indifferent to any character from KOTOR.  I seem to recall liking Carth, though.

Miranda and... well, yeah, Miranda. The only DLC companion I have is Zaeed, but it's unfair to vote chars I have not met. I put Wrex down, but really, I dunno, I don't mind him. Miranda though... ouch. Grated on my nerves even after death with her sister, sister, sister....
