On a personal level? Jacob and Kaidan, because they bore me. I don't feel strongly enough about them to actively dislike them, it's just... a total lack of interest in them as characters, I guess.
But from an IC perspective, definitely Morinth. Because WTF.

Like, don't even remember that Morinth can be a squadmate.

Shepard: Hmm… I’m sure I can trust the unrepentant serial killer whose modus operandi is seducing and deceiving her victims before killing them with sex to not lie to me and kill me during sex!
Oh, I remember it all those years ago when I first watched it!

I'm just in ME2 so can't answer about all the characters but so far I really don't like Aria. Zaeed is a really horrible person but I can't help taking him almost all the time because his fight banter is pretty funny. I'm so horrible at shooting that I think he's got a personal running dialogue on what I'm doing and once in a while, when I do something right, it's like he's praising me. Plus I go talk to him a lot, on the ship, and I think it's funny what a motor mouth he is, instead being quiet and stoic. (Disclaimer: I don't like the bad things he does) I realize I'm going back to the beginning of this thread, but I just bumped into it here, so my apologies. Potentially spoilery if you haven't played through all of ME2... I found that Zaeed has more heart under there than it seems. He's definitely willing to sacrifice those innocents for his revenge, but if you refuse and then hold your ground with him after the mission, he backs down. Some of his many rambling stories betray some more sympathies as well, and I particularly found his comments on Jack's loyalty mission exposed some cracks in the armor. Maybe I'm just projecting, but I totally loved that dude. That said, I understand if others don't. I picked James and Grunt. Big brutish guys with... really little going for them, IMO. Just kind of macho and annoying. I actually preferred Jacob... and that's saying something.

He was pretty funny when he was trying to boobie trap Shepard's apartment with Garrus and his running commentary makes me laugh.

Maybe I'm just projecting, but I totally loved that dude. Zaeed does have moments of softness. It's buried under a lot of casual ruthless pragmatism, but he does have some standards. Like you said on Jack's mission, he'll admit he did a lot of things, but Pragia crossed a line even he would not approach. Another is when he mentioned giving an 8 year old a ride to Omega with his crew. Never did anything to her, was appalled at what she went through at her age. Then there's the commentary on why he chose merc life, because it was a job that made him care about getting it done right. And then there's the mention on Purgatory about how no one walks away from torture. The guy has a code, even if it's not very easy to see.

I despised Miranda at some point. Didn't like the way she reacted in ME2 when I sided with Jack instead of her. Wasn't very sad when I lost her at the end!
Jacob: he was just too boring for my taste. And also an unfaithful bastard.. 💩

And also an unfaithful bastard.. 💩 The problem with Miranda was that she was too much of a Cerberus apologist. It's like she couldn't even see it when they did something wrong. It would have been one thing if she were like "yeah, that's messed up what they did to those biotic kids but that's not normal for Cerberus". Instead, she's more like "they must have had a good reason". Jacob always annoys me with his comments right when Tali joins the Normandy. He's a jerk.

The fact that Zaeed and Thane have received more dislike votes than Javik is a bit puzzling to me but hey... to each their own!

Jacob and Zaeed.
Jacob was a flubbed character. Not actually THE WORST THING EVER. A lot good to his 'recipe'. But it did, not, work.
Zaeed was useless and the merc story is one of the least interesting to me (though I like the varied groups aspect of it; something maybe returning for a group in MEA). That's great you're a psycho Zaeed, but you're a bit too psycho for even this psycho ship.

Useless? What? For me, he is in the top 3 of the best companions in ME2.
He rocks against the geth, krogans, volus and especially husks. Since I only play in insanity, I do not even know if it is possible to complete the dead reaper's mission without him and Kasumi. Same for that mission in a mine full of husks.
And his HP is ridiculously high.
Useless is Jack. Jacob. Grunt.

Poll seems to have closed now, but I would probably pick:
James - He's not a terrible character, he seems like quite a nice guy, but he comes in at the last game of the trilogy when you're surrounded by squadmates and NPCs from the previous 2 games, and unlike Javik, who is pretty well integrated into the game, with James it felt a bit like the developers went "Wait, we need another human squadmate, quick, put something together". Kaidan - Kaidan tried to ninja-mance my FemShep. Kaidan got left on Virmire.
Feel like I should really do a playthrough where I keep Kaidan around and see if he grows on me in the rest of the trilogy.

James - awful space marine dudebro grunt. Referring to Krogan as "tough sonsofbitches"... gah, it's more than enough right there.
Morinth - very disappointing because she's just Samara with different dialogue on the Normandy. Gets one plus point for the rewarding romance though.
Kasumi - I'm not sure if I've missed something, but I couldn't find any trace of personality there. Also her silly grin is kinda annoying.
Thane - so awfully clichéd. It's like a checklist of existentialist emo stuff (mind, I don't really have a problem with emos, just with over-the-top caricatures). Tight emo pants - check. Commonplace philosophy - check. Spiritual, prays for his soul after killing someone - check. He's dying - check. Silent broken voice - check. "Moves like a dancer" - check. And so on, blah blergh.
I actually thought about it, my favourite character is Jack, and many will say the same about her: an awfully clichéd character. I can see where they're coming from, and on the surface I can't blame them. Maybe I'm disregarding Thane just as others are disregarding Jack. However there is one obvious difference: Jack is awesome and Thane sucks.

For me it will always Jacob, but honestly I think he's the character we love to hate so at least he has some purpose.
The second one would probably be EDI. I mean I really like her character in Mass Effect 2 but I wish she was never given a body and made into a squadmate or at least give us the chance to prevent it. I preferred her relationship with Joker as a more platonic attachment too.
This is all from a character/story point of view, power wise I don't think anyone was really useless.

I voted for Liara and Jacob. Liara, well, in a way it's not really Liara's fault that the writer's decided to make her their pet and as a consequence she was inconsistent through three games. I have a really hard time believing should would make a good information broker after being the socially awkward archaeologist that she was in ME1. In ME3 she kinda finds some balance, but honestly she's a terrible shadow broker. If they wanted to make somebody that was Shepard's ally the Shadow Broker is should have been Miranda. Who I could actually believe could do the job with some pragmatism. There is also the fact the game seems to be constantly throwing Liara's romance at you, whether you want it or not. I mean both versions (romance and non-romance) of the conversation between Aethyta and Liara at Apollo's makes it sound like even if you aren't romancing Liara you should be because she's pretty and blue! No thanks, I'll stick with the velociraptor with the sexy voice. And the writers forcing Shepard to care about Liara is annoying, too (hug on Illium, "Liara's in there!", and a few others). I also dislike the physical changes they made to Liara's model in LotSB. The change in her eye color is just weird and unnatural looking. The rest of her appearance is not so bad but that dark blue after the pretty gray she had before just creeps me out. As for Jacob. I dislike his voice actor with a passion. Jacob on paper actually isn't all that bad, but his voice actor turned him into a walking stereotype in my opinion. A stupid jock, who can't stick to anything. He jumped ship with the Alliance, with the corsairs, with Cerberus, Shepard (if romanced), and he won't stick with Brynn either. Mark my words. His attitude towards the survivors of the Hugo Gernsback irritates me. At least first he gets a little better towards the end of that mission, and actually has some backbone when talking to his father. The fact that he brings up all these cool things he's done, saved the council from a batarian attack, flew with the corsairs, etc. but then does a 180 and doesn't want to talk about it irritates me, too. The way femshep talks to him irritates me even more. What the hell was Bioware thinking? And why was Jacob a biotic? I mean seriously so you could have a tutorial about biotics right away? That is a dumb reason to make a character a biotic (especially since human biotics are supposed to be rare). If Shepard is not a biotic why not just wait until Freedom's Progress and use Miranda? Who I can actually believe would be a biotic. I think if Jacob had been a little more like James, just your Average Joe soldier who was just damn good at killing things, he would have been a better character. I love Jacob's music theme though.

The way femshep talks to him irritates me even more. What the hell was Bioware thinking? Not sure if you mean the same thing, but the first time my Femshep spoke with him on the Normandy, she instantly seemed to hit on him. The fuck? I talked to him because I wanted to hear what he has to say, not because I think he's got a nice ass or something. I never ever talked to him again.

I don't know if they just got the wrong dialog there, like how in Inquisition they used the wrong "What's going on here?"during the memories in the Fade scene, or what. It just grates on my nerves so much that I only talk to Jacob enough to get his loyalty mission and that's it.

I think this was a common complaint that FemShep just seemed to go weak in the knees when it came to Jacob. It's one thing if the squadmate likes you because you can dodge around it. It's entirely different if YOU are forced into it.

After mentioning Jacob's nice ass, I wondered if it would've been just fair if he repeatedly stuck his bum towards the camera just like Miranda does. Total anti-SJW internet meltdown would ensue, heh.
