I'm wary, but I'm not going to write Gil off just yet. I can only hope it's not a situation where the priority in writing him is the gay male audience, not the straight male audience's comfort with said gay character. I think instead of being critical, we should encourage all non-mlm men to try their hands with writing men of different sexualities. And besides, we know nothing of Neil's sexuality. Furthermore, Dorian was written by a gay man, and I feel as if though his character and romance was written for everyone except gay men, and I didn't exactly enjoy him.

One thing I want to ask, since we're talking about LGBT characters and their level of quality, what kind of LGBT characters do you want to see? For one, I would love it if, in the future, at least one of the non-asari characters in all the marketing were gay/bi. Like you know what I'm talking about: the starter, main squadmate/companion who has a lot of content and connections to the main plot. Like, Cassandra from DA:I, for example. I just want a time machine to go back in time, and whisper in Gaider's ears to make Alistair bisexual instead of Zevran. And Cullen. And Cass. Yes I want a KISA so badly. Only for me, I don't want to share. Ooookay, maybe a little. KISAs for everyone. I want to romance Prince Phillip from Sleeping Beauty as a guy and Xena as a girl, is that much to ask BW?

I'm not saying he must be straight or anything. It's very possible he isn't. Just that the last gay dude in this franchise to be written by a man who wasn't openly LGBT in some way admitted in an interview that a big part of writing Cortez was to "avoid ninjamancing." I really hope that Gil isn't written with the same mindset. Again, we don't know at this point... but I'm gonna be wary until I see how he's handled.

This has nothing to do with romance. Or, maybe it could? Who knows. MAYbe, Jien Garson is a romance option? Either way, the fact the beautiful and talented Jamie Clayton is the voice of Jien in this game is wonderful. s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/6f/72/40/6f724036ad54a9334ef1116a0916023c.gif*cue obligatory convincing of people to go watch her in Sense8 nao* Also, I still think BioWare care a lot about not just the LGBTQ community, and are continuing to make real, progressive and inclusive, but also meaningful strides, but they also care a lot about their own LGBTQ fanbase. Responses on Twitter should not be taken to mean that this is how they feel or think or value portions of the fanbase, at all, personally. I have faith and hope. I think they will do right by the LGBTQ fans. NOW GO WATCH SENSE8!

Seconding the desire for a more butch, less traditionally feminine f/f LI. Sera had some "baby butch" qualities (especially in that Winter Palace getup, hnnnng) and Vetra is a super tall, practical and sensible warrior woman so I have hope. ALL the bisexual women looking super girly - Leliana, Merrill, Isabela, Josephine, Liara - is getting annoying.

Wasn't it him who wrote the biggest queerbait at least according to tor fandom in the vanilla TOR, Malavai Quinn? *blinku* I've played through the Sith Warrior storyline a dozen literal times, and I never thought of Quinn as gay. I found him a trite, annoying anklebiter of a slime, but his sexuality never even entered the thought. Closest you could come, for me, is a certain South Park episode with bikers. That said, TOR still has one of the GREATEST bi characters of all time, Theron Shan.

Honestly, if Bioware doesn't deliver on any m/m alien romances, we'd better get a gay male alien squadmate next game. Not bisexual, but gay. Wait 5 years more? meh ;< There's always DLC, too!

You mean Dante? I'm confused As for who designed him, dunno. I know Capcom requested a redesign which ultimately resulted in a complete reboot of the series and the character himself. For me he just ticks so many boxes not only in the physical category but also personality that I just can't help finding him hot AF Those eyes That face That body

One thing I want to ask, since we're talking about LGBT characters and their level of quality, what kind of LGBT characters do you want to see? One thing I'd like to see is an actual butch f/f option or at least one that's a lot less feminine looking, especially one on the older side. Straight male players keep complaining that they don't want options like that for their male character, while bi/gay women have been asking for something like that for years. Why not finally give the lesbian fanbase what we've wanted for the longest time? And, no, it's not about stereotypes, or else they wouldn't have characters like Zevran, Bull, Isabela, etc. However, my enjoyment of such a character would be kind of nullified if they tried to give her a cutesy, quirky personality. I want a f/f option that isn't written to appeal to men at all. She doesn't have to be anything like Cassandra or Aveline, but the reasons those characters appealed to women wasn't just because of them being female warriors who were a little more masculine. It was that they acted and were treated like adults, with focuses on their struggles as people working in a flawed system. You've pretty much touched on alot of what I'd like to see. A female KISA, pls, srsly. A sea of femmes, some variety jeez. I would have loved to have Cass and Cora? for my fem PC. And when I see people shit on em for being too butch, looks like a man, DAT JAW, DAT HAIR *RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE* HOW CAN I FAP TO THIS? posts, I be like... fine you don't want em, why not let teh gays have a shot at enjoying em for once, Bioware? Some of y'all don't appreciate shit. #FOREVER SALTY /rant

If anything, it makes more sense to just throw together some inoffensive personality traits, slap them on a Triss-clone, then make her the straight one. Then, make the older, more complicated female characters bi/gay.

These women do exist in our community, there is some truths to stereotypes, nothing wrong with this. See all the backlash Cass and Cora keep getting from the demographic they are created for, are Bioware masochists or do they just like messing with straight guys? Welp, they are messing with queer women too. And if we keep getting bi/gay femmes, it further reinforces my belief that Bioware aren't gearing this towards our demographic at all. I'm gonna get flammed so hard for this.

Hell, even just giving us an older, more mature, femme ice queen love interest would appeal to most bi/gay women more than the young, naive femme ingenue who exists to just go on about how nice and pretty the female protagonist is. Most lesbian Bioware fans I know have been 1000 times more into characters like Jack, Miranda, Ashley, Samara than characters like Kelly. At some point, Bioware's gotta wonder why lesbian fans keep clamoring to romance the straight women?
