DA:I character creator is so horrible though. It's the lighting that makes your character look so dope, but once you exit it oh boy... not good, NOT GOOD. So many wasted hours on that son of a bitch only to end up deleting the Inquisitor because he looks disgusting in natural daylight. I thought the CC was actually pretty fantastic, but the lack of a lighting toggle at this point is just ridiculous. I had to go in and out of the mirror of transformation about 20 times.

Then there's the pain of "I'll fix it in the BE" but then you have to turn off all your mods or the game will crash. So you fix your guy/gal up, then exit, then exit game, reinstall mods, restart game and... no. Just NO.

I know it would hurt her feelings, but I have had people who ask me for their opinion and specifically say they value the fact that I tell them how I really feel. I know I have had terrible hair before-and it would upset me when people would lie to my face. So yeah...I would never actually be as blunt as my post-but I value feedback. That is different if they specifically ask for your honest opinion I get so touchy about hair (is that obvious yet...). Mine is thin and fine. It resists dyeing. I actually use rogaine to keep it from thinning even more. And the one time I tried for a more androgynous haircut everyone, all my friends and family, went totally silent. Usually people compliment me on my hair all the time. But it was radio silence + weird looks for about three months. I was happier with my look but I couldn't handle the judgment, so I went back to my usual cut. Ugh. There's just so much that goes into the way someone presents themselves. I guess it "triggers" me when I see characters getting judged by their appearance lol Well, that's the case where your friends should know you well enough to know that you need encouragement. I have a feeling if I knew my friend was insecure about their look I'd find a silver lining to whatever the situation is and make sure they know about it. I am that person that will straight up cry about something bothering my friend faster then I will about my own junk.
So yeah, but I have a feeling Cora is the type that's super confident in herself so she would discard my feedback and do her. She'd also probably let me know that my pink hair really sucked (stupid red hair dye not doing what it's supposed to do...grumble grumble).

I thought the CC was actually pretty fantastic, but the lack of a lighting toggle at this point is just ridiculous. I had to go in and out of the mirror of transformation about 20 times. In terms of options, yes, mostly so. But my general experience in the character creator 1. make a character, spend 20-50 minutes on making your inquisitor 2. when you get outside for the first time and your hand starts acting up, you start seeing the first flaws, but you are still optimistic its just that one angle 3. go to the exploding bridge, fall down, nervously look at your inquisitor doing his thing, thinking oh man, he looks pretty bad, but maybe... its because... ehhh... 4. get the dialogue with cassandra after fighting the first demon, and look at the scene where the conversation ends and you get a close up on your inquisitor's face. if he looks uggo in that scene, delete, delete, delete, abandon ship. 5. if i'm still not sure, travel forth to meet varric and solas, take millions of screenshots with DAI Cinematic Tool from all angles 6. if even one screenshot looks weird, DELETE, BYE, BYYYEEE, and thats about an hour wasted of my life doing absolutely nothing productive so many inquisitors have gone through this I almost feel bad... DA:I character creator is so horrible though. It's the lighting that makes your character look so dope, but once you exit it oh boy... not good, NOT GOOD. So many wasted hours on that son of a bitch only to end up deleting the Inquisitor because he looks disgusting in natural daylight. So true. Oh fuck no, if my dude isn't juuust right the first time I make him, I'm not going to bother with this unmodding shit and then putting mods back. No, no, no, that's so tedious. But I've still done it... and the ending results after using the mirror are NEVER that much better than what I originally had. Goddamit.

Character creator lighting is super frustrating. Why can't we adjust the lighting to different shades to know what's going on? I mean it's really bad if you want to use the makeup settings. In Inquisition I either wind up with a clown face or the make up doesn't show up at all in game.

I liked the way that I got my inquisitor to look on my first try, but then, after playing for about 10-15 hours, I would start to poke around online to see what other people had made and go, "My guy. He looks a bit shit."
The Black Emporium was a life saver when I started to get a bit tweak crazy with his appearance.

Do u remember when Dragon Age II let u give Hawke a tonsure? (Is tonsure a hair style, or like, a practice? Was I using the word wrong there? I'm not going to read the Wikipedia page long enough to find out) Oh shit yeah screw the person's feelings, I am not holding back if a friend got that for a haircut

Funny enough, the cutest / best inquisitor I ever made was the one I made without mods. He looked cute at every angle; I even forgot to de-gloss his lips and it just looked like he maybe licked his lips a lot LOL But oh no, after that I had to get "smart" (ha) and go crazy with the mods, and ever since I've never been able to create the "perfect" inquisitor. At least not a guy.
I have had an easier time creating female dwarfs and my one female qunari. I'm quite proud of them actually.

I didn't actually have problems like that with DAI's CC. I mean presets could have been better so you'd have better one's to start with, would been faster that way, but I was quite happy with the outcomes. Even when I first started playing with PS3, I found the system quite nice. Of course there were some hair issues, both style and texture, but that's just BW Overall I think my characters look quite great, especially my Lavellan.

To bring this back to romance talk.. since this seems important to some: hands up those for LIs hairstyle is dealbreaker! Or is to completely non-issue to you? Personally, I don't think it's very high in the list. I have many things I prioritize over hair on LIs, though of course I have preferences. Then, I'm mostly looking romancing aliens in ME so hair doesn't quite matter there anyways

So this is only tangentially related to romance, but... I just watched parts of the the PeeBee loyalty mission video, and I have to say, I'm disappointed. I wanted a more sexier dude-voice for S.A.M. He sounds to modulated. I wanted the option to pretend that my Ryder was secretly crushing on the AI in his head, but with how overly filtered and modulated S.A.M. sounds, I think I'm going to have a little more trouble doing that now.

So I can only say that IF there is a hairstyle that would make me hate a Li, I haven't seen it yet.

I like long hair, mohawks and dreadlocks, and I don't really enjoy buzzcuts, balds and short hair. It's not a deal breaker, but it's just a bummer, I feel like whenever a male character design has short hair, it's just a generic go-to when it comes to male hairstyles. It's not necessarily imaginative... but I know BW is afraid of hair so I let it slide.

I agree personality is better then hair, I mean I romanced Iron Bull-and just based on appearance is just a nope. He's too muscular, he has an eye missing, and is just not my ideal at all. However, when he gives me that look and says just the right things...
