Is anything from the original trilogy going to matter?

There was probably originally an idea that they might continue the story of ME3, however the ending messed up the milky way so much that it would just become a horrible mess of decisions to account for if they tried to go forward.

So in this case wiping the slate clean was a pretty good idea, and that's why they went to Andromeda so that they didn't have to acknowledge any of the choices of the original trilogy.

The only decision that could come up in dialogue is the council. A lot knew if the council survived or died at the end of ME1. Most likely that will never be mentioned at all in the game.

We weren't told to keep our original trilogy saves.  We were told to keep our saves from this game for future games in Andromeda.

So said creative director Mac Walters during a lengthy video discussion with Game Informer, during which he suggested that players might want to hang onto their Andromeda saves once the game is over.



"I don't think it would hurt to keep them," Walters said. "Right now, to be honest, we are focused on this game, and as I've said to people before, we very much think of Andromeda as a series. What we do with that series is TBD at this point. I think right now, we know we don't want it to be a trilogy, in the sense of, we're planning this three-part story in three games. But that said, key elements like the Pathfinders, even the Ryders themselves, those are things that are going to make another appearance in the next game."

Since we're going to Andromeda we wont even have those. We'll probably have some kind of fancy travel based on it or something, though.

but we have a Krogan and an Asari, if that counts for anything =P

I'm surprised they haven't had a few people start working on a keep of sorts so far. We'll need it eventually, and it can't hurt to have it around already.

I believe we were told to keep our ME:A saves as they might be used in future games - though that is still an uncertain, just a possibility.

I don't remember seeing anything official that states we should keep our ME3 saves.

Are you suggesting that there is something else I can do with aliens?

The whole initiative is kind of strange. Does Milky Way somehow gets an update on the mission? It sure does seem to be expensive stuff happening there.
